Magic 2015 - Frequently Asked Questions

This Guide answers some of the most frequently asked questions on the Forums and provides some basic information that isn't so readily available in-game.

Information on Unlocking Cards.

If you've bought the complete collection and want to know how to unlock those cards then continue reading, if not then skip to Part Two.

Part One
The cards that you've bought are unlocked once you've beaten the Chapter 1 Boss in a duel. To do this, you must Complete the Tutorial to Unlock the first Chapter Innistrad. Once Innistrad has been unlocked you'll need to defeat Avanyc Innistrad's boss and last opponent / furthest to the right. Once you've done that, you're card Collections are unlocked.

To Unlock Premium Cards you'll have to buy Premium Boosters Seperately.

Part Two
To unlock cards you'll have to win duels to Earn Booster Packs. There are different kinds of Booster Packs, when you first start the game you'll be fighting for Starter Boosters that only contain 3 cards, but later on you'll be able earn Special Boosters that have almost 20 cards in them. Once you've collected the maximum number of a certain card, you'll stop seeing it in Boosters.

Once you've beaten all of the Campaign opponents, the only way to score more Boosters is either Multiplayer or Explore a Chapters Plane. To Explore you'll want to click on the first / furthest left "Explore ______" icon. After that you'll be paired with a random encounter opponent. These opponents always have the same cards in their decks, but unlike previous encounters the decks are shuffled. Defeat them and you'll be awarded a Booster Pack.

A sizable amount of the gameplay come from unlocking cards and skipping this by buying the Collections will significantly shorten the games lifespan.

Manually Tapping Land

If you're playing a dual colored Deck and want to tap different colored Lands, then you'll need to follow these Instructions.

Hover the mouse pointer of the desired spell you wish to cast, and then press Left Ctrl.
Keep pressing Left Ctrl until you're happy with the result, then click the spell to cast it.

How Much of The Games Content is Free?

The game has fairly decent sized starting base cards that can be gradually unlocked by winning duels.

However, there is a tiny slection of Premium Cards that can't be unlocked through gameplay and can only be aquired by spending money.

The Deck Builder

Deck Building in Magic 2015 is a lot more unrestricted compared to previous versions and can be a little overwhelming, in an attempt to slowly wean you onto this new system, you'll be required to unlock the advanced options through winning Duels.

This time around cards are limited by their rarity, in Magic The Gathering we call this the 4:3:2:1 rule. The limit is 4 Commons, 3 Uncommons, 2 Rares and 1 Mythic Rare. This limit is represented ingame by a number near the lower left corner. This number will not be shown during Duels. If the number is yellowish gold, it means that you've collected all of that card.

As always your Deck must have at least 60 cards or more in it, however this time around if you have a Deck with 61 cards or more, the Deck card limit will be displayed in red.

Why is it in red? The more cards you have in your Deck the thinner your current selection will be.

Does The Complete Edition Include All The Premium Cards?

No it doesn't, instead you'll have to buy them at the in-game Shop for £1.49 / $1.99 each.

You'll get a free Premium Booster Pack if you already own Magic 2014 and/or if you pre-ordered the game.

Foil Stickers

Foil Stickers or Foils, are one use only items that add a glitter effect to your cards.

To apply Foils you must first purchase them from the ingame Shop.

To apply Foils you must first go to your Card Collection.
Click on the Foils icon at the bottom of the screen.
Select the desired cards you wish foil.
Once you are happy with your selection press the little tick at the bottom of the screen.
You'll be asked to confirm that these are indeed the cards you wish to foil.
Click Yes and your selected cards will now be foiled.

Is There Two Headed Giant in Magic 2015?

There is no Two Headed Giant in Magic 2015.

Promo Code

To find your Promo Code go to the Main Menu, from there go to the last option / far left and click on Extras.

Go to the last option / far left again and click on Promotions. Press the arrow on the right hand side of the screen until you come to the Promo Code.

I'm having a issue that everytime I lauch the game and click start it freezes and crashes. I just bought the game and done some digging and found alot of other player cant play the game beacuse of this. Is there a possible fix for this or will I have to wait for the next patch, if so when will this patch be released. Thanks any information would help

How i can remove the deck's card limit? in the real game there isn't a card's limit , but in the pc version the limit of deck building is 100 cards, how can i remove it?

I dave up on my promo code last year. I know the code but could never find a way to get it credited to my account.

hmm, got a problem there: somehow the game or my unholy deeds, managed to erase all savings, meaning i started a new game unwillingly after loading the appently non exitent data vom my pc to the cloud... the problem there is not i have to unlock all the cards for a third time so far... the problem is, that i bought 10 premium boosters for 20 bucks and that is gone.. is there a way to get the boosters back..because my favourite decks i bult so far, are dependent on those cards from the booster. and i dont really intend on spending 50 bugs for this game so far.

Arrange a 4 player free-for-all with two teams of two, then it becomes 2v2.

Also you can continue refighting the tutorial boss over and over with different deck combinations. Make sure you choose reselect deck and not continue.
Eventually you earn enough cards to make whatever deck you want so if you don't want to delete any info from steam you could just stick it out till you can switch over.
