Special conditions of detention: SCP-372 should be kept in a 5 × 4 × 2 meter cell, the walls of which are lined with reinforced plexiglass. An infrared motion detector is installed in all four walls of the detention cell. SCP-372 should be fed once every two weeks; a portion consists of one kilogram of raw meat and fresh vegetables, and is fed into the chamber through a hatch.

All security personnel serving near the SCP-372 camera are required to wear helmets with a forehead-mounted camera transmitting a real-time signal to the nearest security post. In case of violation of the conditions of detention, the alert system notifies the staff of the need to monitor fleeting movements on the periphery of vision and report them when detected.

Description: SCP-372 is a creature of unknown species. The length of the creature's body from the head to the tip of the tail is about two meters, the weight is 45 kilograms. The body is elongated, thin, equipped with eight pairs of narrow limbs.

It has been found that the creature's muscle fibers are [REMOVED], which allows it to make incredibly fast and precise movements. All parts of the creature's body are abnormally flexible, and the limbs are covered with many fine hairs, with which it can be held on almost any hard surface.

The creature's organs of vision and hearing are replaced by [DATA DELETED]. This organ, in addition to echolocation, allows the creature to sense energy flows, including electrical impulses produced by the brains of nearby creatures. SCP-372 has learned to coordinate its movements with these impulses and anticipate the movements of everyone around it. With this tactic, SCP-372 is able to hide out of sight of the person who is looking for it, as well as in a blind spot, or moving at the moment of saccad1.

SCP-372 attracted the attention of the Organization ██.0█.████. One of the agents working undercover in █████████ ██████, he reported that he saw a creature similar to the description of a "hallucination" of one of the patients (Mr. ████ ████████). After a thorough investigation, SCP-372 was captured using [DELETED], after which it turned out that for unknown reasons, this creature was "harassing" the patient chosen by him. It made him uneasy, hiding out of sight of the surrounding people, which is why he came to the conclusion that he was seeing a "monster" that no one else sees. Unfortunately, the patient's mental state has already been seriously affected by this time, and [DATA DELETED].

Protocol of experiments on SCP-372:

Participants: Two employees of Class D
The venue of the experiment: An empty room 6 × 5 × 3 meters
Experience parameters: D-1 was instructed to stand in the center of the room, D-2 - in the corner. Both had to visually inspect the room. SCP-372 was released into the room. Five minutes later, armed officers drove SCP-372 back into the holding cell, and D-1 and D-2 were interrogated for what they saw.
Results: In five minutes, D-1 didn't notice anything, and D-2 noticed something flashed several times.

The venue of the experiment: An empty room 6 × 5 × 3 meters
Experience parameters: D-1 and D-2 were instructed to stand in opposite corners of the room and visually inspect the room after SCP-372 was released into the room.
Results: In five minutes, both subjects saw SCP-372 fifteen times (each time - both at the same time). According to the available hypothesis, SCP-372 jumped on those areas of the room that fell into the blind spots of both subjects, and from time to time was forced to jump to another area when the blind spots of the subjects diverged.

Participants: Four Class D employees
The venue of the experiment: An empty room 6 × 5 × 3 meters
Experience parameters: D-1, D-2, D-3 and D-4 were instructed to stand in the corners of the room and observe SCP-372.
Results: Approximately one and a half seconds after SCP-372 was released into the room, D-3 fell to the floor screaming, clutching a profusely bleeding wound on [DELETED], which seemed to have appeared on its own. D-1, D-2 and D-4 left the places indicated by them and ran to the door (already locked at that time). D-4 started beating on the door with his fists, after which he also received a wound and lost one ██████. D-1 and 2 retreated to a corner, where D-1 curled up in a fetal position on the floor, and D-2 stood completely motionless. During the remaining time of the five-minute experiment, they did not notice any activity. By the end of the experiment, D-3 had died, D-4 required surgery [REMOVED], and D-1 and D-2 were not injured. According to the survivors, they never noticed SCP-372.
Note: Apart from that case with a mental hospital patient, this is the first time it harms a person. D-3 didn't even have time to make him angry somehow. Maybe it's just hungry? - Dr. ███████
