Lock Upgrade Card
First thing first, the most priority is buying the "Lock upgrade card" feature. Save some of the money and wait for the secret merchant. Unlock this feature will be helpful for those first few waves when you don't have enough resource to upgrade your unit, so lock it up and save when u have enough resources
Build More Units First
The second priority is to build up enough units before thinking about upgrading. More units, more damage at the early stage so you can save a decent resource for the later upgrade.
How to pick Units
Mix and match units. Don't fully use all main hero's units. Use some additional like:
Akaname, was very strong in the early game. The longer the attack the maximize damage. Later can replace by stronger units
Traps, pick 1 trap with elements that do not belong to other units that you have. Trap won't die, just a simple respawn after a certain amount of time.
Keikai is pretty cheap, so easy blocking monsters.
Flying Rabbit
Lightning Fox If you see a moon rabbit, pick the Fox. Those are very sneaky. We can use lightning skills, but my eyes are sore to find which row they fly.
Yotou Hime Imba Skill
Yotou hime pick that one, 50 soul skill is clearing the whole map. This helps me a lot.
Unit Talent
Lastly is Unit talent try to upgrade those if you have money, small bonus damage can help to push large waves better. The fourth tier talent is quite expensive. So you can invest in either Wolf or Phoenix. Those can do high DPS
My Favorite Setup
Akaname, Wolf, Phoenix, Yotou Hime, Keikai, and any trap or none.
