Inevitable Zero - Evolution quests

A mod that ports over the Vita-exclusive quests to the PC version.

Info

There are a number of quests that are only present on the PS Vita version (Evolution). I decided to do something[github.com] about that. (The number is five by the way.)

Installation

Download the latest release[github.com] (can be extracted with for example 7zip) and merge the data/ directory into the game files. The game directory is normally at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Legend of Heroes Trails from Zero, or you can find it by right-clicking the game and choosing Manage » Browse local files.

I do check the comments here occasionally, but for support or questions, it may be faster to send an issue on Github or reach me on Discord (Kyuuhachi#2763).

The quests

I won't give any walkthrough for the quests themselves; find a different guide for that.

Ultimate Bread Showdown!: Chapter 2, first day, after returning from Armorica Village. The aftermath happens in chapter 3, second day.

Search for the Oversleeping Doctor: Chapter 2, second day.

Search for a Certain Person: Chapter 3, fifth day.

Clerk’s Customer Service Guidance: Start of chapter 4.

Guest Lecturer for Sunday School (Continued): Start of chapter 4. Requires having done Guest Lecturer for Sunday School, as one might surmise from the name.

Looks like there's a minor issue with the quest "Search for the Oversleeping Doctor", if you complete the Testament training quest, then ask Azel about the nurse before talking to Abbas to receive the reward, they will end up at the same position and clipping each other, prevent you from talking to Azel. You can still talk to Abbas to receive your reward though.

@KILLeR Thanks for reporting; I have published a fix. The cause is a difference in the Kai/NISA scripts that I failed to account for, causing my patcher to copy the wrong code. I've fixed this in v2.4.0, and also provided a patched script that should fix the issue on saves affected by the bug.

FYI: You can potentially screw yourself if you take the Ultimate Bread Showdown! quest but then forget about it or just fail to do it. In Chapter 3 Day 3, when you're with Renne looking for Colin , you'll have to talk to Oscar on West Street at some point. With the quest active, he will only talk about the quest and refuse to talk about the plot. Trying to finish it at this point is useless because the "after event" does not trigger to then let Oscar talk about plot.

@Khorn I can't reproduce that issue. Did you install the mod correctly (first More Portraits, then inevitable-portraits)?

And were you inside the hospital when installing the mod(s)? Because installing mods that affect the area you currently are in can sometimes cause issues, since the save contains some script state that is now invalid. Easiest fix would be to exit and re-enter the hospital to fully reload the scripts.

I have been trying this mod along with More Portraits one and game gets softlocked after Accepting the "Oversleeping Doctor" Quest from Martha and speaking with Cecile. Characters after the dialogue spawn all on top of another and are unable to move anywhere. Tried save/reloading and cycling characters but nothing helps.

I don't think there should be any issue there. Only thing that would change is that it's easier to get ranks.

Does this mess up cloud saves or Azure carry over?

No, you can install it at any time. As long as you haven't passed the quest deadline, it should work without issues.
