All you need to know to get all the Achievements in Necesse

Intro

Hello, this is the NECCESSE ULTIMATE ACHIEVEMENTS GUIDE. In this guide, I will be dividing the achievements into two. Namely the ones that can be done without killing any bosses, and the achievements that requires killing a particular boss to unlock.

No Boss Achievements

These are sorted by the ease of accomplishment.

Spelunker
Be careful to not get lost!


This is by far the easiest achievement on the game. Just use the ladder inside the house at your spawn location and you’re done.


Instant Nap
Change your spawn point


The next easiest achievement is this, as it requires 1 more click compared to the one above. Just right click the bed in the house then click Set Spawn.


Do It Yourself
Start a settlement


At the aforementioned house, there is a chest containing a settlement flag. Just plop it wherever you want, name your new settlement, and the achievement should pop.


Headhunter
Recruit your first settler


After establishing your settlement, you can now recruit an NPC settler. This will be either the hunter that is loitering around the island, or a random NPC visiting your settler. The random NPC will be easier as they only require gold to recruit.

Alternatively, you can visit other villages and recruit them from there. They will be more expensive to recruit though as they will also require some items alongside gold just like the hunter. This is ideal though if you are planning to recruit a specific NPC as your first one.


Hoarder
Have an inventory full of different items


This should automatically pop while playing the game normally from looting stuff from caves, but to manually get this, just fill your inventory with different items.


Time Wasted
Play the game for a full 24 hours


Just play the game and this will pop in no time. Keep in mind though that this achievement technically tracks your time played that can be seen in the Player Stats/Character Stats and not the number of hours played shown by steam.


Marathon Runner
Run a full marathon on foot


Don’t mind this achievement as much. This will automatically pop while playing the game. If you really want to accelerate the acquisition though, you can run around your island in circles if that is your jam.


Watch Me!
Equip your first trinket ability


The earliest you can get this is by finding the Zephyr Boots in forest cave chests. The other ability trinkets are boss gated, but notably, the Force of Wind trinket is a 100% drop from the first boss, the Evil's Protector.


Grave Digger
Find and dig up a gravestone


At forest caves and snow caves, there you can find a mini biome called the Vampire Crypt. They are very distinct from the outside as they have stone brick walls. Destroy a gravestone using a pickaxe after killing the vampire mobs inside and you’re done.


Self Proclaimed
Wear a gold crown


Before, this achievement was boss gated. But as of update 0.21.27, It is now a craftable item. Just mine some gold, craft one in an iron anvil, wear it, and the achievement should be yours.


Companion For Adventure
Get your first pet


The earliest you can get this is by buying a Wet Icicle that summons a Pet Penguin from the Travelling Merchant that visits your settlement from time to time or buy either a Wet Icicle or Exotic Seeds from an Animal Keeper in other villages.

The final pet in the game is boss gated, namely, the Magic Stilts which can be bought from the Mage after killing the Void Wizard.


My Jam
Listen to a vinyl on the music player


Buy either a Music Player or a Portable Music Player from the travelling merchant and if you haven’t looted a vinyl yet from a cave chest, you can also buy one from him. Use your newly bought player, put in your vinyl, and the achievement is yours.


Artificer
Enchant an item using the mage


You can get this early by finding a Mage NPC in other villages. Just enchant a random enchantable item and the achievement is yours. Do note that the price of enchanting will be a bit higher as you will not have happiness modifiers compared to your own villager.


Tourist
Visit all different biomes


This achievement is a bit misleading as it wants you to visit all island types instead of the 4 biomes in the game. All in all, you need to visit the following:

• Forest Island

Cloud Nine
Have a settler reach 100% happiness


There are 3 factors that affect settler happiness: Food Quality, Room Size, and Furniture. To reach more than 100%, you need to feed your settler gourmet food, their room should be more than 60 internal tiles, and the room is decorated with at least 7 different furniture. Keep in mind that similar furniture types have diminishing effects so make sure to plop different ones. Do these to a single villager and the achievement is yours.


Double Catch
Catch 2 fish in 1 throw


The earliest you can get this is by crafting a Wood Fishing Rod, loot a Fishing Potion from caves, and whack some grass to get Worm Bait, and cast your line in a body of water. Wait till 2 fishes bite, reel them in, and the achievement should pop.

If you are not in a rush to get this, there is an alternative way to do this, but it is boss gated by the Pirate Captain. But if you prefer, you can loot a Depths Catcher fishing rod in a Deep Forest Cave chest. This fishing rod automatically has 2 fishing lines. Using a Fishing Potion with this will net you with 3 fishing lines.


More Than A Hobby
Fish up a total of 500 items


Although technically this can be finished before killing any bosses, I recommend doing this after getting the Depths Catcher fishing rod I mentioned above. Together with some fishing potions, and a lot of bait, you can grind this for much quicker. Personally, this took me 4 fishing potions of time, so around 20 minutes of nonstop fishing with this method, but your milage may vary.

Boss Gated Achievements

These are sorted by the order of bosses involved/progression.

First of Many
Defeat your first boss


Realistically your first kill will be the Evil's Protector Boss. This is the intended 1st boss and the easiest to kill. This boss can only be summoned during the night using a Mysterious Portal that you have looted from the forest caves. Clear up and light up an area, use the portal, and kill the boss.


Village Helper
Complete a settlement quest tier


After killing the Evil's Protector Boss, you can hand in the quest to the Elder if it is already active, or you can get the quest and turn it in immediately after as the game remembers that you have already killed the boss once.


Magical Drop
Increase max trinket slots


First you must defeat the Void Wizard boss. The boss is found at the 2nd floor of the dungeon. After killing it for the first time, it will drop an Empty Pendant which you can use to increase your max trinket slots.


Washed Up
Defeat the Pirate Captain


You can find this boss in the center of a Pirate Village Island. The fight can be tricky, so one suggestion is to make a box using walls, lure the boss in, then close the box to prevent the other pirate mobs from interfering. The achievement will pop after the kill.


Getting Hot
Reach the deep caves


After killing the Pirate Captain boss, he will 100% drop a Deep Ladder Down. Use the item wherever you want and use it to get the achievement.


Complete Host
Have all possible settler professions live in the same settlement


After defeating the Pirate Captain boss, all NPC professions can now be recruited. Almost all of them can be found in NPC Villages to recruit. There are a few things to keep note.

• The Mage can be rescued in the dungeon prior to killing the Void Wizard or can be recruited from NPC villages after killing the Void Wizard.
  
• The Animal Keeper can be recruited from NPC villages after defeating the Void Wizard.
  
• The Explorer can be recruited in the Desert Caves after defeating the Void Wizard.
  
• The Broken Pirate can be recruited after defeating his boss version, the Pirate Captain.
  
• The Mage can be rescued in the dungeon prior to killing the Pirate Captain or can be recruited from NPC villages after killing the Pirate Captain.
  
• The Pawnbroker can be recruited after having 8 or more settlers or can be recruited when visiting your settlement after killing the Pirate Captain.

One Tapped
Kill a Zombie in a single hit


This achievement can vary when you can get this, but in my experience, I got this while wearing the summoner gear I used to kill the Pirate Captain. To easily get this, just bring your middle to late game gear to one tap a zombie.


Too Easy
Kill a boss in less than 30 seconds


I personally got this achievement with my 1st Reaper Boss kill as in the current version of the game, you can get the best armor set for summoner before this fight. But if you still don’t have this achievement by the time you get to the final boss, bring your end game gear, go back to the snow caves and summon and kill the Queen Spider as this boss doesn’t have invulnerability phases.


Rematch
Defeat the Fallen Wizard


The current final boss of the game which can be found on the second of the deep desert temple which is unlocked after defeating Sage and Grit at the deep desert caves. Prepare your end game gear, plop all 4 banners at the center of the room, use your food and potion buffs, and defeat the boss.


Complete Collector
Obtain all possible items


By far the hardest achievement currently in the game. The achievement is self-explanatory, but to get this, you need a lot of effort. To check your progress, while in game you can go to Options > Achievements and Stats > Character Stats > Show Missing Items.

Some tips I can give while starting the game to ease the completion time:

• Go dig the ground after encountering a new surface. Dig when encountering a surface, normal cave, and deep cave floors of a different biome for the first time to register it to your list.
  
• When encountering a small treasure room, destroy and collect the trap block, the pressure plate, a wall block, and the wall block. Some of these cannot be crafted, and for the ones that can be, you save yourself the hassle of crafting them yourself.
  
• When visiting the dungeon, try to destroy and pick up a door, wall, and every version of furniture and traps you see.
  
• Early on, when the travelling merchant visits with a new item, if you can spare some money, please buy them as at the late game, the slots get filled out with settlement reward items that it then becomes difficult to encounter the item you need to buy. Alternatively, you can establish more settlements at the end game to farm travelling merchants.
  
• Explorers can be really handy when searching for a specific trinket or vinyl. Just send them to your cave of choice and let them do the looting for you.
  
• You can get multiple copies of the same quest item for the Elder. After getting the item, you can store them in your void bag and you can now get some more. Repeat till you have around 4-5 copies, then plop a chest near the Elder. Put your extras in there and when the quest repeats, you can immediately turn in your item.
  
• You don’t have to kill your own Elder to get your hat. You can just make a new settlement, wait for the new elder, then unclaim the settlement, and kill the elder.
