Rollback to older Bioshock Remastered

Rollback installation if you use mods or for any other reason.

How to rollback to previous installation of Bioshock Remastered

... and make the mods work again, or for any other reason.

1. open Steam CONSOLE following this link (should open in a WEB browser and fall back to Steam client): steam://nav/console
   
2. from Steam client's unlocked tab CONSOLE enter the following command:
   

   download_depot 409710 409711 4374758520491404236

   when the download is complete it will print "Depot download complete: <full path of downloaded files>"
   
3. now enter your usual Steam installation dir where is the up-to-date Bioshock Remastered, and keep only the dir "2kLauncher", delete the others
   
4. move the depot contents from point 2, replacing the previous files/dirs just deleted
   
5. set as launch options for Bioshock Remastered:
   

   <your full game path>\BioshockHD.exe -2kgarbage %command%
   e.g. "D:\Steam\steamapps\common\BioShock Remastered\Build\Final\BioshockHD.exe" -2kgarbabge %command%

👉🏻 Nothing prohibits you from using -allowconsole instead of -2kgarbage to use that command at launch.

Congratulations! You have just rolled back to a 5 years old Bioshock Remastered version, mods will run fine, and you won't see the 2K Launcher at launch anymore! Steam achievements and Steam timer will work fine. Steam should not ask you to update to the latest version because will think is still the new one.

P.S.
Make a backup of Steam's Bioshock Remastered game dir, you never know the future...

It was downloading for a while and then showed me this

No. AFAIK EPIC has no manual rollback function, but you could ask to support...

"Forced create of Win32Event but it already existed" after/while download? Have no idea honestly. Never seen something like this.

Retry, as other said (and I did myself) the method works. Maybe temporary Valve server issues...
