How to access the "secretSettings.ini" file for Forager on Steam Deck
You're probably here because you've been looking for the same thing I was and couldn't find it anywhere online, or not, because... you're welcome.

Like I was saying, I couldn't find any information online for this at all. I looked at what I thought would be Linux directories for the file, but I was wrong. I've discovered where it really is, and it's different on the Steam Deck.

This guide will show you where to access the file, but you will need to find another guide if you want to know more about all the different settings you can mess with, but there's plenty of those guides right now (unlike this guide at the time of making it).
What you need to do

First off, when you turn your Steam Deck on, if it's a little turd like mine, it probably won't want to auto-connect to your network.
Make this a habit, go up to the Wi-Fi icon and press 'A'.

You should already have your network saved, so just find your network here and press 'A'.

It might not connect the first time, this is normal, just keep pressing 'A' on Connect.

Eventually, it will connect. The Wi-Fi icon might have a yellow exclamation mark on it, this means that the Steam Deck hasn't connected to Steam's servers yet, just give it some time. If it takes a while, Steam might be having server issues.

Another habit you should make (if your Steam Deck is a turd like mine), sometimes you won't be signed into Friends, and it simply won't want to do it by itself. This part isn't necessary for this guide, but hardly takes any time at all. It took me a while to figure this out myself. A bit shameful, I know.
Go to your profile on the top right and press 'A'.

Press 'A' where it says Signed Out.

Then just select Online and press 'A'.

You're done with this part, just ignore it and back out to the main menu.
Friends should hopefully be signed in a bit later. I've found that on my Steam Deck (because it's a little TURD) it can stay signed out of friends for a while, but the moment I do this, soon after I can see my friend list again. Why can't this just work like it should?

Now let's get to that file you're after.
Press the 'STEAM' button, and select the Power option and press 'A'.

Next, select the Switch to Desktop option and press 'A'.

Wow! This thing can play my Steam games and is an actual PC as well? Awesome, right? Hell yeah. (Most of you probably know this already, but for those just finding this out, it's pretty awesome.)
You can use your Right Trackpad to move the mouse. Click the Right Trackpad to Left Click the mouse, and if needed, click the Left Trackpad to Right Click the mouse.
Now you want to go down to the taskbar and select that blue icon that looks like a folder. It's the one called Dolphin.

Here is the moment you've been waiting for. Using this window, you need to navigate to this directory:
/home/deck/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/751780/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/Forager/
The default username is deck. If you changed it, just change deck to whatever your new username is.

Now that you've finally found that file that has eluded you for so long, open it.

You can now edit the file to your liking. I personally like to have mine set like this, so I can, you know, actually see the game I'm trying to play.

For those that don't know, you can open the keyboard by holding the 'STEAM' button and pressing the 'X' button.

Now you're done, so click the icon on the top left of your desktop that says Return to Gaming Mode.

Now open the game.

Have fun!
