This is a walkthrough video on how to beat the Dark Souls II boss "Darklurker" as a melee character. By far the most irritating boss for us melee players, the Darklurker is a powerful mage that not only has a wide array of powerful spells, but also duplicates himself around the 50% mark. Most players will be able to get him to that point, but then will be very quickly murdered after the split.

He is very, very weak to fire attacks. For this reason, you need the strongest ones available. Upgrade a pyromancy flame to at least +7 (+10 if possible), and equip the ring shown in the video so that you can attune two spells. The spells you want are Firestorm and Flame Swathe.

If you can, pick up the Rebel Greatshield and infuse it with Dark. This will be able to completely block most of the Darklurker's attacks. Dress light so you can roll, and then time your spell casts as shown in the video.

I know this isn't technically a melee method of defeating her, but it is being done by a melee character. No respec is needed, and the gear isn't too hard to come by and upgrade.
