Enemies
Basic Enemies
Here are the standard enemies that can be encountered in every level (apart from the Pac-Man Ghosts and the Mutants). You can momentary stun (about 1 second) an enemy with a single shot from any weapon. All enemies are also always set on two settings.
  • 1st being an ambush setting, where they dont react to gunfire noise and only wait till you come in their field of view to shoot you.
  • 2nd being noise activated, where they immediately close in on your location once they hear gunfire.
Tip 1: Every enemy has an alert sound that they scream out when they hear gunshots, remember those "war cries" for future encounters to know which enemies you're going to face.

Tip 2: If an enemy is standing behind a locked door, try firing your gun to see if he opens it, letting you kill him and pass through without needing a key. Just be careful and don't lock yourself in!

Easter Eggs
Pac-Man

In E3M7 there is an exit to the secret Pac-Man level. The level resembles the classic arcade
Pac-Man map with all the ghosts chasing after you. The level serves as an homage to Pac-Man as Wolfenstein 3D was inspired by it's maze-like layout.

Secret Morse Code

In the levels E3M1, E3M5, E6M1 and E6M5 you can hear the song "Kill the S.O.B." playing with some beeping in the background. It's actually a morse code sent from The Underground Resistance. The code reads:

"To Big Bad Wolf.
De Little Red Riding Hood.
Eliminate Hitler. Imperative. Complete mission within 24 hours. Out."

Aardwolf

Deep in the maze of E2M8, there used to be a room with an "Call Apogee say Aardwolf" sign. It was a part of a contest that Apogee held back then but had to be cancelled quickly, since players developed cheat and mapping programs.

Spear of Destiny
-------------------------------------------
Story

In his desire to master occult powers, Adolf Hitler captures the legendary Spear of Destiny from Versailles, sending it off to Castle Nuremberg. In order to stop Hitler, B.J. Blazkowicz is sent to interfere, marking his first chronological mission in the original series . B.J. enters the castle only to encounter heavy resistance by Nazi personnel. He also encounters Dr. Schabbs's mutants for the first time - necessitating Schabbs's assassination in the future

B.J. defeats Trans Grösse, the first member of the Grösse family, then Barnacle Wilhelm, the castle's jailor, the Übermutant, Dr. Schabbs' masterpiece, and the Death Knight, the castle commander and final protector of the Spear. Upon capturing the Spear, however, B.J. is immediately sucked into Hell, where the Angel of Death awaits to challenge him to find out if he is worthy of wielding the Spear of Destiny.

Mission Packs
The games are sequels to the original Spear of Destiny, and follow a similar storyline. The Spear of Destiny, the spear which pierced the side of Christ, having already been retrieved by BJ once, has again been captured by the Nazis, and B.J. has to retrieve it back. Again.
