1. A serial killer is someone who has murdered three or more people over a period of more than a month, with a cooling-off period between murders. The motive is usually based on psychological (often sexual) gratification, though the motives may also include anger, thrill, money, and attention seeking.

2. According to the FBI, more than 70% of serial killers experienced problems related to substance abuse. While only a few serial killers were actually addicted to alcohol and substances, many of them encountered them in their youth.

3. A study that focused on a group of sociopaths who had been adopted as infants showed that the biological relatives of sociopaths were 4โ€“5 times more likely to be sociopathic than the average person. Researchers note that it is easier for โ€œbad seeds to blossom in bad environments.โ€

4. Many serial killers report having an abnormally strong sex drive and many fantasized about dead women rather than living ones.

5. John E. Robinson is dubbed the โ€œfirst Internet serial killer.โ€ After being released from prison in 1993 for running a prostitution ring, using the name โ€œSlavemasterโ€ he started to lure women in chat rooms to his home, where he murdered them.

6. The FBIโ€™s Crime Classification Manual places serial killers into three categories: organized, disorganized, and mixed (those who exhibit both organized and disorganized traits). Organized serial killers are often socially adequate, may have a wife or children, and plan their crimes methodically. Disorganized serial killers are far more impulsive and have fewer friends.

7. Most serial killers in the U.S are Caucasian (84%); approximately 16% are African American.

8. Men constitute the overwhelming preponderance of serial killers, at over 90%.

1. Survivors were originally able to climb walls in the alpha. That's mostly why, for example, the shack has a opening on it's roof.

2. James' animations in the menus referencing scenes from Silent Hill 2. Also, Midwich has tons of references of SH, too.

3. There used to be a now retired offering that tweaked with the game's moonlight, which was a recurring ambient feature in every trial of Dead by Daylight and still is almost the sole source of light, with other sources of light including lamps, fire pits and fully repaired Generators. It was disabled because the designers wanted more freedom and not have to remake the same map with different lightnings.

4. The Entity's recreation of the Moon (Luna) is not perfect. Dead by Daylight's Moon is tilted to the left, and it appears approximately 2 times bigger in the sky than The Moon appears from Earth. This implies that Dead by Daylight's Moon may be 2 times closer to the Entity's Realm than the Moon is from Earth (384,400 km), meaning they might be 192,200 km apart from each other.

5. The name "Black Lock" originates from an early concept for the alternate escape mechanic, before the Developers had decided on creating the Hatch. Each Map would have had several Black Locks located throughout the Trial Grounds and would have required a Skeleton Key (the only available Key at the time) to be unlocked, This mechanic was replaced by the Hatch, albeit comparatively late in the Development process, hence why several Hatch-related Add-ons still referred to it as "Black Lock" in their description for several years after release.

6. Meg's hair original release hair was blonde. In Dead by Daylight alpha. Meg had swapped ethnicities (and likely voice-actresses) with Claudette. An image of alpha Meg can be found in the Gallery.

7. The killers were originally able to destroy all obstacles within a level (including trees, walls, buildings, etc.) and was removed early in the Game Development cycle. This removal was due to the team realising that it would be difficult to balance characters who were able to remove all of the stage elements. This was revealed, along with survivors' ability to climb, to the public during Developer Stream #72.

8. The Entity is often designated as of female gender. This is due to the French language, mother tongue of most of the Developers, neither possessing a gender-neutral pronoun nor a grammatical neuter. The Entity's original French name, "L(a)' Entitรฉ" is a feminine noun and the Developers have been known to refer to The Entity with feminine pronouns in English as well.

9. Towards the beginning of The Entity's parasitic relationship with the real world, there may have been some trial and error, namely with the existence of trials and their emphasis on Generators and other in-game objects. The Developers have noted that it is very possible that the first Killer was not a success, and was promptly thrown into The Void. It is presumed that The Entity prefers to physically manifest itself in the form of a spider, similar to Stephen King's "IT". According to Arcus 1513, there is a world in which a "Cult of The Entity" exists called The Black Vale, possibly Vigo's world.

10. In the Game files, internal references reveal that Pallets were originally supposed to be "Bookshelves" that the Survivors could throw down. Pallets are also known as "Pull-Downs" and "Barricades".

1. Dogs are the only animal on Earth that can love you more than themselves.

2. Ever seen any race car having the number 23, and why? It's because the number 2 is pronounced ''ni'' in Japanesen and the number 3 is ''san'', ni-san and it's only for the nisan cars.

3. In 1924 people used to play real-life chess, called human chess. People actually would die in these matches, and 95% of the times the King's and Queen's pawn were sacrificed. 65% of the times they would be killed first.

Actually, the locale was the Palace Square in Leningrad (at that time, the great city hadn't been St. Petersburg for a decade).

The game played was a draw between two masters of that time, Peter Romanovsky and Ilya Rabinovich with the moves transmitted by telephone. This Live Chess spectacle, put on July 20, 1924, lasted 5 hours and attracted an audience of 8,000. The Black pieces were represented by members of the Red Army (Soviet Army). The White pieces were represented by members of the Red Fleet (Soviet Navy). Only the kings survived because it was forbidden to resign.

This was an annual event, designed to promote chess in the USSR, that had taken place since 1921 at different venues: 1921 in Smolensk, 1922 in Kerch, 1923 in Omsk and 1924 in Moscow.

In Smolensk, on August, 23rd, 1921, the first such game was put on at the initiative of local Vsevobucha. The board was created using chalk and sand for the squares.

6. April 11, 1954, was recorded as the most boring day in the world. Statistics show that no significant occurrences took place in the world. This was calculated by a computer search program. This program could calculate the number of important events that occur all over the world simultaneously.

7. Buttermilk does not contain any butter. The butter in its name refers to the origins of the drink. Now thatโ€™s a confusing random fact you probably didnโ€™t know.

8. Sailors working for the Royal Navy need special permission to grow their beards. Once this is approved, they are given two weeks to grow a full set before presenting himself to a Master at Arms. This person then decides if the beard looks presentable enough to keep.

9. Children are born less frequently on Saturdays. Among all the days in the week, most children in the world are born on a Thursday. Babies born on weekends in December is also the least common.

10. 1,700 people become millionaires every day in the U.S. The United States has over 8 million families who have a yearly income of over $1 million.
