William Wallace, a Norse Prince
By Grifos
Let's begin... This is firstly a story and then a guide.

Once upon a time i was playing in Brittania Campaign as Norway and i managed to get Wallace to be my faction heir. I just wanted to share this.

Campaign playthrough till the event, in summary:

- Economy roundup

It was difficult at the start, being instanlty, at war with Scotland. Then finally i conquered them and noone bothered with me up until turn 50, so i managed to set up the economy and have 2 army stacks.

- Why he became heir to the throne

When Wallace entered the family tree, there were 3 family members, not including him. The current King, an adoptive son of his (heir) and an adoptive brother of the King, who adopted Wallace. Then i killed the adoptive son (heir) of the King and Wallace became heir. There was only the option for Wallace's stepfather to become heir but he was older than the King.

- William Wallace's entry in the family tree

After i eliminated Scotland, he remained a rebel. I fought his stack until only his unit remained and then bribed him with a 3 lvl diplomat. The cost was around 9000 and he accepted.

- Bribery finances and wife's status

I sacked some towns in order to get the money for the bribery while trying to bring his stack's price down. The wife was no princess, as it is shown in the foto, but i guess she is now...

Establish your economy
You will probably be at war instantly with Scotland. Manage to hold them back, conquer some of ther regions and put a priority to your money-making buildings.
Do not eliminate Scotland
Leave some regions to them in order Wallace to emerge and have some cities to sack in order to have the money for his bribery.
Management of family tree
Be sure to have enough space for Wallace in your family tree. After the bribery, he will enter it. Every male member of the tree can have at max 4 children. So manage to have someone with 3 max.
Reduction of Wallace's army
Manage to reduce his army stack to just his unit or 2-3 units additional to his or the bribary cost will be too high. Do not kill him. Always leave him space to flee. Attack his other units from all flanks in order to eliminate them or broke them.
Sacking cities
In order to have the money for his bribery, the easiest way is to sack some cities while eliminating Scotland.
Diplomat
You will need at least a 3 level diplomat with no negative traits for the bribery attempt.
The End
After destroying Scotland, Wallace becomes a rebel. Now you can either continue reducing his army stack or if you already done that, it's the time to bribe him and welcome him into your family. Kill the other family members and he will be your King. Also, Wallace does produce offspring, so no worries for that either.

I tried to do the same with El Cid. It cannot be done unfortunately. He is too chivalrous...

I remember about 16 years ago playing Mid 1 and killing Wallace as England, but love your Idea adding him to any country (other than England cause that can be awkward).
