Duke Nukem BFE Reloaded is a mod that puts Duke Nukem himself in the boots of Serious Sam from Serious Sam 3. Every enemy, weapon, music and one liner is replaced. BFE Campaign as a whole remains the same though. Same levels, same fights but different experience thanks to new things that spice things up!

What is it?
Duke Nukem BFE Reloaded is a mod that puts Duke Nukem himself in the boots of Serious Sam from Serious Sam 3. Every enemy, weapon, music and one liner is replaced. BFE Campaign as a whole remains the same though. Same levels, same fights but different experience thanks to new things that spice things up!

How do I get it?
Since this mod was removed from Steam Workshop there is really no way to get it through Steam today. Author Syndroid, thankfully, kept some version of the mod before it got removed.

To get the mod you first need Serious Sam Fusion 2017 version that the mod ran on for the last time. That being Dec 6th 2018 build.
For that you'll have to follow these steps:

1. Open your browser and type this in website address bar:

   steam://open/console

2. Now go to Steam console and type:

   download_depot 564310 564311 2426829214391651818

   and hit enter.
   You mustn't exit Steam or have connection be interrupted otherwise you'll have to start again! There is no way to pause the download or see its progression. That's how it is. It will say when it's done downloading.
   
3. After it's done downloading type:

   download_depot 564310 564315 3507192202152003251

   and hit enter.
   
4. After it's done downloading type:

   download_depot 564310 564316 9076620351696443672

   and hit enter.
   
5. After it's done downloading type:

   download_depot 564310 564323 7354069463480877224

   and hit enter.
   
6. Now go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\content and rename app_564310 to Serious Sam Fusion 2017.
   
7. Inside it take out all files from deposit folders and merge them, then delete empty deposit folders.

You now have a mostly functional Dec 6th 2018 build of Fusion!

Now you need to put the gro file in Content/SeriousSam2017 and then go to Bin folder and make a shortcut of Sam2017_Unrestricted.exe on your desktop.
Now right click on it and click Properties and under Target add +workshop 0 so the game doesn't crash on startup. It should look something like this:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\content\Serious Sam Fusion 2017\Bin\x64\Sam2017_Unrestricted.exe" +workshop 0

Now whenever you want to play the mod open Steam and double click on that Sam2017_Unrestricted.exe shortcut!

How do I play it in VR?
You need to download all VR parts of Fusion instead of normal "flat" version
So instead of depots I posted above type these:

Post Bloom Update Bugs
Thanks to Nov 2018 Bloom update for Serious Sam Fusion the mod got completely rekt so you might find it buggier than what you can see on the gameplay video from early 2018.
Shotgun bobbing is obvious one but you might find some more bugs on the way.

Usage:
If subscribed and the mod being enabled, every BFE weapon, enemy and more will be replaced..However, none of the original files get overwritten, so it's safe to use. If you want to go back to vanilla, simply disable the mod from the workshop manager in the main menu

Basically, you can just remove the folder located in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\content" and that's how you delete that older build. Your regular Fusion build remains untouched since it is in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Serious Sam Fusion 2017

It's a separate Fusion directory that has nothing to do with your Steam Library Fusion installation. It isn't connected in any way. You can still play Fusion like always, you just have this separate installation that you can only open through that build's executable.
