Pastelle Oyul splashes her way in!

Pastelle was designed to be a beginner choice for anyone! Whether it's your first time digging through the workshop, or you're looking for the cool epic swordie with addicting combos!

Most of Pastelle's regular attacks are multi-hits while some of her moves have a tipper feature. In addition to this, some of her moves cause her opponents to be Soaked, a unique status effect that interacts with her Neutral Special!



Neutral Special: Spiral Bind

Pastelle throws her sword in a circular motion in front of her, dealing damage. This may sound like your basic projectile but if the opponent is Soaked, Pastelle will immediately warp to them, allowing for an follow up attack!

Keep in mind that the sword projectile can be destroyed on hit and you're left vulnerable once you throw it!

Side Special: Stamp Surge

Pastelle transforms into Stamp Form to perform a horizontal charging punch similar to Olympia. By holding the input, you travel a further distance and deal more damage! If you hold up or down after a successful hit, you can attack cancel depending on the direction you choose!

Down Special: Reflective Counter

Pastelle defends herself by casting a dome that'll counter anything that hits it. If you're familiar with Sora's Reflect magic in KH2 then you'll love this move! Also it is intentional that ANYONE around the counter will take damage relative to the attack struck on the barrier.

Up Special: Ink-a-chute

Riding high into the sky, Pastelle glides on up by turning her jacket into a parachute. This move also deals damage and knockback to anyone near the startup at the top of the move.

Great character, it just feels like there aren't many satisfying moves to hit. Back air and up air come close but they both have abysmal knockback and rarely kill. Adding more knockback and combo ability to the aerials would make it feel much better to play as her.

So the jab combo was addressed so that's good. The other technical stuff I mentioned remains, but I'm guessing those issues, excluding the jab 1 putting you into parrystun will take a bit more time to address.

Oh yeah, her jab 1 puts her into stun parry, so she can't parry check like the rest of base cast.

Fun character kit, very easy to understand and play well. As for technical issues: Multi hit attacks like f-air has the opponent fall out of it very easily, it needs a vacuum effect or something to keep the target in so the you actually get the hits off; That or don't make the knockbck high and trajectory away for the hits before the last one. Similar issue for her Jab combo, it should force flinch and draw inward on the first two hits because I keep had CPUs easily fall out and tech roll after jab 1. Another issue is when she teleports to a soaked opponent in mid air after n-special hits them, they are able to act before her and basically interrupt with whatever fast button they have, I've had this happen against Saji a lot. The only suggestion I could make for that is to increase the stun of the hits before the final pop up sword hit, but what do you think?
