How to Get Your Serial Key (100% Working Solution)

Hello everyone, saw a lot of people having serial key problems after recently buying the game. I myself had the same problem and I was able to easily solve the problem. So in this guide I will tell you how to get past this problem easily and officially.

Link your Steam account

Link your Steam account to your EA account from your accounts settings as shown below. I'm not sure if this step is necessary but do it just in case.

Buy the Game and Contact EA Support

After you bought the game through Steam, go to help.ea.com, log in to your EA account and choose "Help with a game". Choose Battlefield Bad Company 2 and scroll down until you see "Contact Us". Choose that and then select PC as your platform. Select "Codes and promotions" as your topic and then select "Lost code" as your issue. After that click "Select contact option" and then choose the live chat option.



















After you connect to an EA Advisor, tell them that you bought the game through Steam and you couldn't connect to the servers because you need the game added to your Origin account first. Don't mention you need a serial key because they will simply tell you they can't provide serial keys. They will ask for your email adress and give them your Origin account's email adress. After that they will require more detail about your problem and you simply have to tell them that you need the game added to your Origin account, you can't do it yourself since you don't have a serial key, so you need their help. If they tell you to contact Steam support instead, simply tell them that you already did and they told you to contact EA support (because that's what will happen if you contact Steam support anyway). Some advisors will try to give you other options like refunding the game and buying it from Origin instead, refuse it if you are not interested in that option. Mention that lots of players are having the same problem on Steam and some of them solved the problem by contacting EA support and getting the game added to their Origin account as a solution. If they try to convince you to seek other options, insist nicely and they will have no choice other than contacting their team and asking if they can add the game to your Origin account. If the advisor contacts their team and they approve it, they will ask for proofs of your purchase and send you instructions on how to do it. After you provide the proof of your purchase, they will add the game to your Origin library and your problem will be solved.

But some advisors will say they contacted their team and such thing isn't possible. If that happens, just thank them for their time and end the conversation. Repeat the steps above and open a new case so you can get connected to another advisor. In that case you should mention that the other advisor couldn't help you and you need help with the product you paid for. If you sucessfully got the game added to your Origin library, simply start the game through Steam, log in to your EA account from the game and it won't ask for a serial key anymore since you have the game in your account already.

It took me 2 advisors to solve the problem, I suggest you shouldn't hurry them too much, talk your way through nicely and be patient.

DLC Keys

If you bought DLC's too, on your Steam library right click on Bad Company 2, select "Manage" and then select "CD Keys". There you will see keys for your DLC's. Copy those keys and redeem them on Origin to activate your DLC's. After that, you can launch the game and have access to your DLC's.

If you don't want to bother with EA support (Optional)

If you don't want to bother with EA support, simply refund your game and buy it from Origin instead.

On the support page I chose Origin and missing purchase, it directed me to send an email about it. I asked EA to add the game to my EA account/Origin along with the proof of purchase. I'll update if it works out.

If you have EA Play membership at EA App, you can add it by yourself. Just download it in EA App and then cancel. After that you can play the Steam version as well.
