Introduction
Rage-o-Rama! for Carmageddon 3: TDR2000 is not an officially endorsed pack and is not supported by Torus Games or SCi. This pack is a bundle of community creations and official DLC content and general TDR improvements all in one. Without the talent and help of many Carma community members, this wouldn't have been possible.

The pack contains the very best add-ons, tracks, fixes, and tweaks available online. This is a full game and will be seperate from your Steam installation of TDR2000.

Rage-o-Rama! only works properly on the UK Blood version of TDR2000.

You do not need the Steam version of TDR2000 to play. Install it for free below.

Click here to download the Carmageddon TDR2000: Rage-o-Rama! addon pack.[drive.google.com]

ATTENTION !!
Currently, I am aware the link is down. I am in works of a new 2.0 update with more vehicles, some balance tweaks, and even new maps to play on. Stay tuned!
Setup
This is a full game and does not require any real installation besides some tweaking to the game settings using the TDRLauncher. If you have other add-ons installed, this may interfere with them, so be cautious and make backups of your TDR if you are merging add-ons!

If you want your Steam version of TDR to be this mod pack, then go to "steamapps/common/Carmageddon TDR2000" and delete everything inside this folder, replacing it with what's inside of the modded Carma folder. To uninstall, simply delete the contents of the folder and verify integrity of game cache on the Steam game settings for TDR2000.

Right-click on "TDR2000.exe" and make a shortcut for your desktop or somewhere else to keep. On the actual shortcut, go to the properties and under the target file path, add "-f" to the very end of it. This will make the game launch in full texture resolution mode. For Steam, just add "-f" to the advanced launch options for TDR2000. (Thank Toshiba-3 for that bit of know-how.)

Open "TDRLauncher.exe" in the Carma folder and let it profile your system. Updated 3D-card presets are included so it could take longer for profiling to complete, but there’s a bigger chance that your card will be detected. If your 3D-card is not present in the list, select the card which is closest related to yours. Make sure you do not pick any resolution higher than 1920x1080 or any hertz above 60. Whether or not you want to run it in a window or fullscreen is up to you.

At the next window, click "Setup." Then at the next window, click "Options."
A graphics menu should open with the resolutions available. Make sure you're running at x32 and not x16. I usually play at 720 x 480 in fullscreen.

Next, click "Advanced" down in the bottom right. Disable "Pixel Fog" and change Mip Filter to "None." After this, press "OK."

Features and Changes
Vehicles

203 completely new and original community-made and official DLC vehicles arrive to participate in the demolition derby. The 49 base-game vehicles are not without changes either. Some have had their names, textures, and even stats completely re-worked to make the experience better. Big trucks hit harder and small cars go faster. The game is brought to life and the vehicles have more personality with different themes and styles.

The first-person camera view for many of the vehicles have been re-done to look and feel much better as well.

These vehicles are also a part of the game's progression. As the game goes on, you will get higher tier vehicles in races. Bigger trucks and tanks appear in late stages and all can be bought when wasted, along with cool and wacky vehicles only unlockable as prizes for beating the campaign.

Levels
The environments from the official "Nosebleed Pack" from Torus Games have been added on top of the vanilla content. And now, a whole 23 years later, brand new community-made levels have also finally come out for TDR2000, bringing new environments for you and all your buddies to thrash n' smash it up in.

There have been some slight changes made to the environments of TDR2000. Some missions have been slightly altered, and the infamously difficult and annoying "Summer Nuke Fest" was changed entirely to be like "Trucking Hell" from Carmageddon 2. Police have been changed to be more fitting for the world they are in as well.

The very final mission has also been tweaked to be more fitting and action-packed! Just a little cherry on top and treat for the very end of your playthrough.

The opponent count is now ramped up as the game goes forward, much like in Carmageddon 2, with there being a mere 5 opponents on the first level, going up to a whopping 11 at the end of the game.

Time and Money
Time and money bonuses for running over peds and crashing into your opponents have been significantly increased. You also start out with more time as well so you don't have to immediately rush to the first checkpoint.

One of the biggest TDR talking points is that the time was not enough. Now you can freely explore the environments during races. Unfortunately, the timer still caps at four minutes, but it's negatable as long as you run over a few peds once in a while.

Money bonuses for killing peds, crashing cars, and even stunts have also increased too, letting you make good money and have enough to afford upgrades, and plenty to purchase your wasted opponents with. Speaking of, opponents that you waste and APO purchases are all generally cheaper to afford as well. The huge selection of cheaper cars allows you to get more variety in your gameplay.

Sound
Some sounds have been changed in the game as well. The crash sounds from previous Carmageddon titles make a return, along with lots of new music, improved explosion sounds, brand new sirens, powerup pickup sounds, and checkpoint sounds- the engine sounds of some vehicles have been swapped to be more fitting to the vehicle driven along with new engine sounds from previous Carmageddon titles being added to the game.

HUD + Menu
The mod's text logo has been added to the main menu. The level backgrounds that were previously unused for levels like Military Zone and The Bridge are now used. The strings for powerups have proper capitalization now and the opponent statuses in the bottom left corner have been re-written and improved as well.

The vehicle stats on the left side in the garage are now fully accurate, with two new stats having been added, being "Strength" and "Handling." Top speeds, acceleration, and even the weight has been thoroughly tested and researched to be as accurate as possible.

Music
I tried to pick music (and a good amount of it) that would fit crashing cars, running people over, and lots of explosions. There are six different tracks you can potentially get while loading a race or mission. These tracks will loop once they are over. With multiple songs in each of the possible six music tracks adding up to 1:42:30 total, they won't get old and annoyingly repetitive anytime soon. These OGG files can be very easily edited if you want to add your own personalized music to the game as well.

Here is a YouTube video of the full soundtrack.

Multiplayer
Before playing multiplayer, all parties participating must have the same version of TDR2000 installed. Otherwise, the program will fail.

Setup
In order to play TDR2000 multiplayer, you will need to install GameRanger. Run the installer included with the mod and install it. Go ahead and make a GameRanger account and choose your preferred installation settings. You do not need a friend code and can just press next.

To begin with, you will need to link your GameRanger to your TDR executable.

In GameRanger, go to "Edit" in the top left, and on the drop down menu, choose "Options..."

Find "Carmageddon TDR2000" in the alphabetical games list. Once you do, click "Browse..." and locate "TDR2000.exe" where you extracted the game. You cannot select the Steam version of TDR2000 for this step. Extract the game somewhere like your desktop or documents.

Once you have selected this, you can close the options menu. You are now ready to play!

After that, you will need to add your friends in order to play. Click the "Community" button at the top, then click "Find a user" and a window should open. Put in your friend's email and add them. They will have to do the same for you as well.

Joining a Game
When your friend hosts a lobby for you to join, you want to look in the main section of GameRanger and look through the alphabetical games list for the Carmageddon TDR2000 lobby. Click on the lobby and press "Join" in the top right.

From here, a window opens with a list of users and a chat. You must wait for the lobby host to start the game. When they do, TDR2000 should launch automatically.

When your game launches, select the "Multiplayer" option. From there, you will be met with different connection options to choose from along with the ability to change your name and vehicle. Either GameRanger protocol works. Choose one and select the "Join" option.

Hosting a Lobby
When you want to host your own lobby, go to GameRanger, and instead of clicking the "Join" option, you will click "Host" and a settings window should open. Set your preferred options and open the lobby for your friends.

When you proceed, the same lobby should open, but as the host, you have the "Start" option. Wait for the users to join the lobby then start it. Everyone's game should launch automatically.

Your game will automatically load up a level. Press the escape key and edit the multiplayer game settings to your liking along with changing your name and vehicle. Either GameRanger protocol works.
Known Issues
Failed to find display mode error when starting TDR2000.
Check your display and resolution settings. You should not be above 1920x1080 or 60 hertz. Try to change around the settings and see what works.

Asset path not found.
The game is trying to locate an asset that isn't there. Either you merged this mod with an already existing version of TDR2000, or you are running the wrong version. This only works with the UK Blood version of TDR2000, and should be a standalone install. Do not merge this with any existing install or it will fail. To use this mod on Steam, delete all the contents of the TDR2000 folder and replace them with those of the mod.

Application Exceptions and other general crashes.
Unfortunately, this will happen quite often. This is not something I can really fix. Sometimes if you hit a wall too hard, the game can't take it. It's just something to get used to. Lots of new content will put strain on the old engine and make it much more prone to failing. The game was made by a less popular developer and is 20+ years old at this point. That's just part of the experience.

Opponent AI vehicles have wobbly wheels.
Go into the properties of "TDR2000.exe" and in the compatibility mode drop down list, select the "Windows XP Service Pack 2" option and the wheels should now be straight unless they are damaged.

This compatibility setting will have to be disabled if you are hosting an online lobby via GameRanger. If you are not the game host, you can keep this enabled.

The music has stopped playing.
Sometimes when transitioning to a different track, the game will cut the music entirely and it will stop playing. The only way to bring it back at this point is to restart the game.

MSCOMCTL.OCX missing error when trying to launch spectator mode.
This is an error most people will get when trying to launch this program. Most old software needs this component to run and newer systems lack this component. The way to fix this is to just download it to your system.

Here is a guide on how to restore this component.[thegeekpage.com]
Credits
While the creators may not be as crazy in 2022 about crediting regarding old modded vehicles dating back literal decades, I think it's still important and I wouldn't feel right taking all of the credit for this pack. Here's who made it possible- even if some haven't been seen around for a long time.

Base-game vehicles that remain unchanged are not a part of this list.

Special Thanks
These people have played a part in making this happen and I appreciate them greatly. These are my sentiments to those who helped make this passion project about a neglected and disliked game into a reality.

Likvidator[www.cwaboard.co.uk]: I came to him in my search of someone who was still willing to do modded cars for TDR. He was a super nice dude and even though our venture wasn't successful, he still made an effort.

Mastro 666: Mastro was another guy I went to in search of people willing to still mod cars into TDR. He was a chill dude and gave me a chance because he liked my idea. He ported one of my favorite Twisted Metal characters (Axel) into TDR. All this for no cost either. His other ports are pretty awesome and I have a few of them in this pack.

LittlePuppet: A very nice fella who gave the mod a test run live on his channel. I enjoyed seeing him have fun with it. Same feeling like making a cake and seeing someone enjoy eating it. Hope to see what he and others have to say about this final version.

Crostil: Knew about as much about all this coding sh*t as I did. He taught himself and helped in many ways along with having done all of the re-naming to the cars. I had the visions and he helped make them a reality. He's the one who created the original Wrath dump truck we all had so much fun with even though it was just a Master Mine DeviantArt OC recolor with swapped stats.

Trent: Just an all-around nice guy who I had come to a handful of times with requests or just general help. He even did a bunch of TDR renders for me when he didn't have to just cause I asked. Super nice and helpful dude.

Toshiba-3[rr2000.cwaboard.co.uk]: There is no putting into words how helpful Tosh has been to me throughout this whole thing. This absolutely would not have been possible in ANY capacity without his help. One of the most pleasant and well-informed people I've had the pleasure of working with. He taught me a lot and was patient with me on things him and his peers are already such experts in. Not to mention how talented the guy is. His ports he made for me are just incredible.

The Carma Community[discord.gg]: The other people I see here and there who tell me my mod have made them want to launch up TDR again brought me hope and motivation to really work on this thing. So many awesome dudes who want nothing more than to just shoot the sh*t and crash some cars. That and those who were here many years ago that have their work featured in this mod don't even know the impact they have had on my life. TDR is one of my favorite games despite what anyone may say about it. I understand and can see why they dislike it, but I feel this pack improves those points of negativity. I hope I can give back to the Carma community with this pack. Thank you!

The link is down at the moment and I am in works for a large update to the mod pack which improves on a lot of things.

Once the pack is done, I will have it uploaded to another site for download.

Google Drive link doesn't seen to work anymore. I was excited to check this out! Any chance you could host the files elsewhere or reupload?
Mugzy  [author] Dec 28, 2023 @ 10:58pm
I get it man. Yeah that shit is annoying. I think to myself "no I don't wanna join your shitty discord." but my reasoning is that it's an easier place to get a hold of me and see different behind the scenes stuff.
GOON6669 Dec 28, 2023 @ 7:21pm
Sorry to assume you would. Just tired of mod creators doing that.
Mugzy  [author] Dec 28, 2023 @ 5:30pm
Never anywhere did I say I was going to do that. I am just saying to join the Discord because it is a more convenient place to get a hold of me and discuss the mod pack than a Steam comments section. When 2.0 comes out, I will update the info on this guide to be up to date with all the new stuff. Until then, a good place to see updates and actual screenshots and whatnot would be the Discord.
GOON6669 Dec 28, 2023 @ 3:05pm
Please don't lock the download behind a discord server. I've already joined so many servers just for some mod.
Mugzy  [author] Dec 23, 2023 @ 12:47pm
Join the discord. There are unexpected things that have come up that have delayed my process. I am working on it trust me hahaha.

Hi, dude! Sry for annoying...but...when it'll be ready? =)
