Howto find and add Presets for projectM

Find "new" Presets

ProjectM is based on "MilkDrop 2" an old music visualizer for "WinAmp" that exists since 2001 and is developed by Gyan Geiss (https://www.geisswerks.com/). If you search the web for "Milkdrop Presets" or "Milkdrop Presets Collection" you´ll find whole collections of presets that you can download and copy to your Presetsfolder (..\Steam\steamapps\common\projectM\presets)

as an example you´ll find some at https://archive.org/details/milkdrops

Adding a Preset

Once you´ve downloaded new presets you just unzip and copy them to
..\Steam\steamapps\common\projectM\presets

"Manage" your Presets

you can "manage" your presets while running by rating 0-5 Stars by hitting [0]-[5] on your keyboard. By rating 0 Stars to a preset you make it appear less and 5 Stars to see it more often...

Sadly this feature seems to be missing now... so the only way is to manage the presets manually:

Hit [Space] to lock the actual Preset. You can show a presets name by hitting [F3] while its running. By pressing [n] ext and

revious you can move through the presetsnames you see in the list. If you want to get rid of a preset you don´t like, search for the selected name in your presetsfolder and delete it.

Afaik projectM has no better solution for that (if you find out a better way, let me know)... but you could try nestdrop: https://nestimmersion.ca/nestdrop.php
Its also based on Milkdrop and could be a better choice for managing presets, but also is a bit more complex to handle in some ways, as its meant to be an advanced VJ-Tool...

I think there's almost 10,000 presets. Isn't there a better way to reduce the amount? Many of them are just slightly modified clones of a certain preset.
