Pre-Guide Notes
This is primarily a Guide intended to inform new players of the game of the important aspect of mounting Source game content.

Additionally, this guide is not exactly what I would consider to be finished, so you can expect I will be adding screenshots to it at some point and perhaps occasionally updating the Guide's information.
What is Mounting a Game?
To begin, an explanation of what exactly it means to mount a game, and how doing so adds to your Garry's Mod experience. Simply put, mounting a game means adding all most of that game's content for use in Garry's Mod, or in other words adding it to the spawn menu. Since most mountable Source Engine games, they all typically add some of the same different types of things into the game. The general object categories that can be spawned and accessed by mounting games include: Ragdolls, Models & Props, NPCs, Entities, Weapons, Vehicles, Maps. although this will vary depending on the games you are mounting.
How to Mount Games
Mounting games to Garry's Mod is very easily done in less than 5 simple steps, listed as follows:

Note: Although this is not a step, it is a very important thing to know of; In order to mount a game to Garry's Mod, you must own a copy of the game on your Steam account. Otherwise, you will not have the option to mount the game through the steps listed below.

1) First of all, as mentioned above, in order to mount a game, ensure that you have purchased and/or downloaded that game on your current Steam account.

2) On the game's "title screen" menu (the screen shown after the Facepunch loading screen upon startup) move your mouse cursor to the bottom right corner of the screen. You should see an option to mount content from other Source games, in the form of a white button icon. Click on it to reveal a menu bar listing all the games whose content you are able to mount for use in Garry's Mod.

3) Beside each game title on the list, there will be either a red X, which signifies that you do not own that game and thus cannot mount its content, or a blank checkbox, meaning you own the game but have not yet mounted its content. If you see a green checkmark filling said checkbox, that means the game is owned and already mounted. To mount a game you own that is not already mounted, simply click the blank checkbox and it will fill in. That is it, really. If you wish to "un-mount" a game's content for whatever reason, click the checkbox again. That pretty much covers all of it, really. Have fun with your mounted game content!

I'm Mostly wondering how to Mount a game without it needing to be installed? there are a few games that I sort of don't want installed but I know a lot of Mods need it like HL:S

Thanks. To be honest, it's been so many years now that I had forgotten this guide even existed. Maybe I'll get around to updating it eventually, but I wouldn't count on it.
