Ultimate Hat Collecting Guide!

A guide for collecting all hats in Bugsnax the easiest way! This guide will show all 25 hats along with tips on how to get them quickly! Including how to get the secret / holiday hats!

The Basics

After donating 6 Bugsnax to Gramble you are able to collect hats for the Bugsnax in Grambles Barn.

Some hats are not always available, and may need to be unlocked through quests or completing the story.

To get a hat, simply catch bugsnax in the wild that has a hat! Remember to not leave the area until after the popup showing you obtained the hat!

There are 25 total hats!

The location shown on the image on the Hat Board next to Grambles Farm is the location a hat was last sighted, When looking for hats check the Hat Board to know where to look. Only one hat will spawn in an area at once!

Tips and Tricks!

When looking for hats I would highly recommend time skipping (by sleeping) until the Hat Board shows a hat in a location easy for you.

The best locations to find hats for me were: Garden Grove, Flavor Falls, Simmering Springs, and Sugarpine Woods

Hats are more likely to spawn on some bugsnax rather than others, The most likely bugsnax to have a hat in each area is:
Garden Grove - Weenyworm, Sweetiefly, or Strabby
Flavor Falls - Sandopede
Simmering Springs - Kweeble, Crapple or Razzby
Boiling Bay - Golden Kweeble
Scorched Gorge - Ribblepede or Crystal Sweetiefly
Sizzlin' Sands - Cheezer or Black Lollive
Sugarpine Woods - Hunnabee or Kwookie
Frosted Peak - Chippie or Baby Cakelegs
Please note that this is a personal experience and you may have completely different bugsnax with hats.

To get the Secret/Holiday Hats you need to set the date on your computer to December 25th after you have caught all other hats. The 2 Holiday hats are Santa Hat and Witch's Hat.

You can get them off the pinkle in flavor falls, the cheepoofs in scorched gorge, the red banoppers in boiling bay, the shiskabugs in garden grove, the bombinos and loaded spuddies in sizzling sands and the cinnasnails in sugarpine woods as well.

Honestly, hats can be found on any bugsnax (not the actual bosses though). Some of them are really small so you'll just have to get close enough to the bugsnax to see if they have a hat or not.

having a hat on a pineantula is possibly the most painful thing ever. mostly if its the pineantula next to gramble's uhh i forgot what its called.

i would theorize that you can get the hats a certain amount of time AFTER the holiday they belong to has passed. At least within 2 months of the date bc the author got both hats within 2 months after Halloween
