Introduction
I love tactic games and achievements so i just had to go for 100% on this one.

Man, what a ride! This game was super fun and the story was more interesting than I expected!

Dude! Werebadgers!
(Credit: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/E5JXquBWUAMTBNl?format=jpg&name=4096x4096)

Well, yeah, maybe she is a werebear but for me, she is a werebadger!

From the intro, I really fell in love with it and then she came.. and broke the spell.
Well, fine, I guess. The game had me really pumping there as Epic but this is fun too!

Anyway, the style and mechanics remind me of the old Tactics Ogre/Final Fantasy Tactics games of old and I really like Hellenica for it. This is a very simple game but the pushing/tossing mechanics are very fun!

Those running animations are super funny too!

Each stage has little challenges for you to try and do which adds to every battle.

One thing I didnt like was that there was no "Speed Up" option for animations, every battle is slowed down by looking at the enemies walk around. There isnt a tutorial either but most things are pretty obvious, I'll add a Mechanics section for those who need help on this.

There isnt any option to remap the game hotkeys either.

And and the AI is pretty dumb sometimes, but's its fine.
If this game ever gets a Hard mode it would be enabling the AI to Toss/Push you off, man, deadly!

Storywise, this game has branching paths but you can go back and take another path when you'd like so youre not really missing anything and on this, the game is very flexible. I do recommend you stick to a path until you get to a recruit THEN start again on Day 1 and take another route, it's more fun that way, I think.

Game is around 20 hours, 30 if you go for all achievements (Hard Objectives take time).
Mechanics and Interface
The game autosaves, you can replay fights, dont worry about it.

This is the main battle screen:
Yellow Arrow: Here you can click the PC portraits to quickly go to them and start giving them orders.

Red Rectangle: Switches the Isometric View (Can also be moved with Q and E)
*The camera itself can be moved with WASD keys or click and drag the map.
*Zoom In: R, Zoom Out: F

Yellow Rectangle: PC Info and the Orders you can give them.

Red Arrow: How many PCs still can move/take actions and when you hover your mouse on it OR no more PCs can move, you End your Turn here.

Moving
To move, when you have a PC selected, just click on a yellow square.

The little arrow underneath the character model tells you its facing after you move, you get less damaged from the front and more from the sides and specially from the back. (Well, thats how I feel)

After you click on an attack, you must select a Target, only targets inside Red Squares can be targeted, the red squares appear after clicking on the action.

During your movement decision, you can click on an Enemy to see how far they can walk (Blue squares) and how far they can attack (Red Squares)

Turn
After moving, selecting an action, then a target (if applicable), a little Arrow to the right side of the character info panel will appear, that will confirm that character's actions for the turn.

To cancel an action, just click on the action you selected again.
If you already confirmed both movement and action, to cancel, click on the X at the bottom right corner, where the PC portrait is now.

Pushing
Pushing is a big game mechanic, certain actions will push enemies or objects about and you will be notified of it, if it would happen.

Here, the barrel will fall, bounce, then fall again!

The Fall damage goes from 4dmg if its only 1 square and it grows exponentially, if enemies bounce, they receive even more damage.

Skills
Before battle, you can click on the SKILLS button (its below the START button) to spend your skill points and re-assign skills to characters.
Click on Change and here you can buy new skills and equip them in the slots.
PCs dont get new skill slots so choose wisely!

Skill Points are shared between all characters!

Agora (Waypoint#1)
After the first battle, you will enter the Agora, speak to the NPCs about the world to unlock new Paths (Missions), after talking to the important, faced NPCs, you might get paths from normal folk. (Right hand circle becomes available)

On the upper left, you have settings, your journal(story) and skills.
You can revisit battles from the Journal if you want.

Its from the Travel Log (Journal) where you can pick your next battle.

These I call waypoints and from here, you can talk to NPCs and/or click on background objects to find new paths or dialogue.

Notes:

Tossing/Pushing is the most fun this game had for me. I loved it.

  • You can kill ghosts by hitting them with magic damage or ethereal damage.
  • Everyone does more damage when attacking from the sides/back and from above.
  • Everyone does less damage when attacking from the front or from below.
  • Above does more damage than back attacks (except backstabs).
  • On missions where you need to exit, the mission wont end if you kill every enemy, you gotta exit.
  • When you bounce something, only the thing bounced on takes damage unless the thing falls at least a bit after the bounces.
  • Heavy characters do more bounce damage when tossed.

Storyline Achievements
The story has branching paths but you can go back using the Travel Log and try other paths, dont worry about your choices, enjoy the game!

If you see an unknown path that you cannot unlock, it must be because it comes from another previous route, dont despair, you'll be fine once you play another route in a previous Day.
There are no missable paths!

If you want to try different dialogue options to try to unlock paths, you can do a fight right before getting to the location, winning it and the location will reset.

You can get to the different locations from different ways, with some exceptions.

Battle Achievements

Sharp-eyed
Shoot an enemy with Nephele's steambow with an extreme height advantage.

*You can do this in the very first battle, run your way to the top and shoot an enemy that's below, you'll insta kill them pretty much. Not sure how many height squares you need, but its around 5 or 7.

Right in the Kidney
Backstab an enemy with Diona or Nyx.

*Again you can do this in the very first battle, just wait until Diona becomes human, be close to one of the enemies, move behind it, backstab! Remember that you need to be on the opposite side of where the enemy's little compass arrow beneath them is pointing!

It Wasn't Me!
Kill an ally.

*Use Steam Push to make an ally fall and die or let them die by collision.

Penta!
Create a 5-bounce chain.

*I did this in the Athens Docks fight, line up your characters here for the bounce, I bought the expanding barrel skill, so I used it.

Konging It
Destroy five barrels or pots in one turn.

If you manage to gather pots and barrels in the Dock fight, you can manage to destroy 5 of them by making some bounce to destroy others and your other characters destroy others with weapons or maul.

Feel the Burn
Affect three different characters with a single use of Scylax's blue-flame Cauterize.

*You need to use abilities 3 times before his flames become blue.

H2Ow!
Damage an enemy using steam pipes on the battlefield.

*I did this on the airship in Egypt, the pipes are the ones by the propeller in the back and on the roof, they look like steam chimneys.

Brassball Special
Use Diona's Bear Toss skill to toss Brasidas onto an enemy.

This is Sparta!
Push three enemies to their death in one combat encounter using Brasidas.

*You can do this in [Crete: Kidnapping]

*Remember that the enemy must die from the fall not from the shield bash damage.

Skillful

*You need to reach level 20, you will need maybe about half the hard objectives to get to 20.
But maybe you just need the medium ones, not sure, its easier than you think.

Hard Objectives

Objectively Pro
Complete all hard objectives.

*Every battle has little challenges for you to try, the hard objectives are hidden the first time you enter a new battle, so good thing I'll tell you about them so you dont have to replay that much.

You can replay battles later, so dont worry too much.
I tried to list the battles from Day to Day, from Left to Right.

In stages with multiple fights, PCs will usually respawn when the next fight begins.

Medium objectives are totally optional, they might help get to L20 quicker.

Day 1
Bandits!
Win without taking any damage.

Just start the battle with a steam push and a maul to the Archer above.
Beware the other archer, stay away from him until you kill him with steam girl.
Stay on the elevator, it will go up before the enemy's turn.

Day 2
Athens: Ship Fight
Push 3 barrels into enemies.

Athens: Bandit's Revenge (To Corinth)
Deal >100 damage from a single fall.
*Lure an enemy to the top of the waterfall then push him off.

Athens: Luddites vs Statues(Plato)
Push/Toss a statue into 3 luddites.

*Keep them stunned with Plato and use the other two to bounce the statue into the first enemies, you need to KILL them with the statue for it to count. It's tricky but with expansive barrel and maul you can pull it off, they die quick if the statue bounces off them.

Day 3
Crete: Kidnapping (Pullox)
Complete the level without doing fall damage.

Crete: Labyrinth
Complete the level without anyone dying.

Crete/Corinth: vs Spartan Rebels
Deal 2500+ Fall Damage
*Easy just make sure they fall from the highest points, all of em.

Corinth: Map pirates! (To Circe)
Deal more than 200 dmg with Nephele
*This path is kinda hidden, after talking to the man, look at the supplies, statue then storm.

Corinth/Acropolis: Makarios Mutiny (Evagoras)
Toss ALL the Pirates off the Boat.
*You can use Bear Toss, one of the enemies doesnt count.

Acropolis: Train Fight (Oracle)
Push ALL enemies off the train.
*Bear Toss is so much fun.

Acropolis: vs Slavers (Castor)
Finish all the enemies using "Toss Rocks" attacks.

Day 4
Egypt: Sprung Trap
Do over 100 Bounce Damage in one action.

*Get rid of the archers then put everyone up here so the enemies line up.
*You can bounce this vase or Brass if they line up horizontally.
*It says turn but really its in one action.

Circe: Platforming to Hades
Survive for at least 15 turns before exiting.

Atlantis/Sparta Big Ship Fight (Trade Route)
Deal over 100 damage with falling rocks.
*Lure enemies to where the rocks will fall or push them into the X spots.
*Only damage done to enemies count.
*Big guys only hurt for 15dmg, the others for 30.
*If you kill one before the rock falls, if the skull is in target zone, it counts.

Atlantis/Sparta/Thebes: Warning Anaxa
Win without losing any anchors.
*You can heal the anchors, they rather backstab you than hit the anchors.
Push enemies onto gears and steam chimneys, those do decent damage.

Rhodes/Sparta/Thebes Driving the Autokineton (To Sparta)
Do over 90 Bounce Damage in one action.

*Easy to do, they line up most beautifully.

Circe/Thebes/Corinth:Oracle Defense
Finish the boss with bounce damage.
*Who knew statues were so bouncy?

Thebes: To Hades!
Defeat all 21 ghosts.

Day 5
Egypt: Airship
Win without losing any anchors.
*You can heal the anchors, watch out for backstabs.
*Push enemies onto gears and steam chimneys, those do tons of damage.
*Tossing a harpy into the big propeller at the back is insta-kill.

Egypt/Oracle: Underwater Pyramid
Deal over 125 damage with Scylax.

Acropolis: Makarios vs Pirates (To Rhodes)
Finish 5 enemies with bounce damage

Oracle: Band of Heroes vs Bandits (To Rhodes)
Finish 4 enemies with one Scylax attack.

*Kill 4 enemies at once with an attack, if they die by bounce, collision or fall, it wont count.
*Hardest objective for me, making them align up and have just enough HP left for 4 way kill was tough.

Ceres/Acropolis/Airship (To Crete)
Push a Barrel onto 5 enemies.

Hades: Dinner Fortune
Defeat Atreus last.
*Throw them to the fires and yes, you have to play this twice, no roundabout.

Acropolis: To Thebes
Finish 3 enemies with gears.

Hades: Forest Bandits
Deal over 100 damage with a Scylax attack.

*Use blue fireball on 5 or 6 enemies.
*Heavies are weak to magic.

Airship: Athens' Docks
Finish off Syphilis with the huge ship gear.
*The gear does around 5 damage to him, plan accordingly.

Day 6
Atlantis/Airship: Helping the Twin Bros
Defeat the Boss using the Steam Pipes
*You need to deal the finishing blow this way, steam does 12-15 damage to him.

Airship: To Sparta!
Finish every enemy with Scylax

Atlantis: Two tanks and a baby
Finish every enemy(12) with Funny girl. (Nephele)
*Be patient, very annoying stage.

Crete: Labyrinth
Escape in 12 turns or less.
*There are 3 stages in this one, be quick.

Airship/Fallen Athens: Shadows HQ
Deal over 250 damage with Nyx

Fallen Athens: Acropolis
Finish 8 enemies with Plato

Day 7
Corinth: Escape From Hell
Escape in 10 turns or less
*2 fights, you dont need to put the ghosts in the exit squares.
*Its better for PCs to die if it will take too long to take him/her to the exit.

Sparta: Rebel Leader
Only damage the boss with Spartans
*King and Mechs only (maybe Brass idk), bounce/fall/collision dmg ok only if done by them.

Cyrus' Camp: Artaxerxes Fight
Finish Artaxerxes in 5 turns
*2 fights and you only have 5 turns to get there and kill him.
*If you take more than 4 turns in the first fight, restart.
*You can kill Arty in a single turn with planning: tanks&maul from behind, spears from diagonal behind, explosion behind him, xbow charged shot with flanking.

Cyrus' Camp: Egypt Fight
Deal over 100 bounce damage to Syphilis.

Thebes: Pittacus Longship
Win without tossing any pirates off the boat.
*You need to toss 5 pirates off the boat for medium challenge.

Acropolis: Jail break
Deal over 100 Bounce Damage to Syphilis
*Deal with other enemies, stun him with Plato, bear toss/explode brass into him 3 times.

Day 8
Welcome to Rhodes
Complete all 3 fights without any losses.

*Watch out for backstabs, stay away from the big guys.
*This fight has three parts, deadly fall damage in the 2nd.
*3rd fight: Get on the roof with a blast and they wont be able to touch you.

Day 9
Final Fight
Win without finishing any masks.

*Two part fight.
*Fight ends when Gaia goes down, focus on her.
*Stun Gaia (w/Nyx and Diona) and she wont be able to summon any.
*2nd fight has 2 masks at the beginning though.
*Get Syx Cauterize and heal that mask damage they deal you.
*If enemies kill a mask by accident, it will be invalidated.
*If a mask dies, restart right there.
*You have to do the whole two fights if you wait until the end and restart.
