Cossacks + American Conquest launch on new Windows OS’s (8/8.1/10)

This patch/wrapper redirects legacy DirectDraw calls into OpenGL 1.1/3.0 which allows run and play GSC games on modern PC with Windows 8/8.1/10

Fixes & features:

• Games render via OpenGL
  
• Games can now easily minimize on new OS
  
• Games can now easily switch into windowed/full-screen mode
  
• Fixed problem with 1024x768x8 display mode
  
• Fixed problem with intro movies, i.e., no needs to rename video folder

Key combinations:

• Alt+Enter — Windowed/Full-screen mode
  
• Alt+F — On/Off FPS counter
  
• Alt+M — Mouse capture (for windowed mode)

Installation

For Windows users:

• Remove all compatibility modes for your game;
  
• Download archive from my Google Drive [drive.google.com];;
  
• Extract its content into your game root
  
• Launch the game via dmcr.exe
  
• Have fun ;)

For Wine users:

• Download archive from my Google Drive [drive.google.com];
  
• Extract its content into your game root;
  
• Launch Wine Configuration ($ winecfg)
  
• On "Applications" tab add your dmcr.exe, in case if it's not there;
  
• On "Libraries" tab make sure dplayx is selected as "Native then Builtin" (see example)
  
• Launch the game via dmcr.exe;
  
• Have fun ;)

NOTE: This patch does not remove SafeDisk and other protections, so it doesn't fix executable protection on newer OS, e.g. Windows Vista/7/8/10. You need to have DRM-free executable, or just download no-cd.

• Виправлена проблема з режимом дисплея 1024x768x8;
  
• Виправлена проблема зі вступними відеороликами, тобто тепер не потрібно перейменовувати теку з відео.

Комбінації клавіш:

• Alt+Enter — віконний/повноекранний режим;
  
• Alt+F — ввімкнення/вимкнення лічильника FPS
  
• Alt+M — захоплення миші (для віконного режиму)

Установка

Для користувачів Windows:

• Видаліть усі модифікації для вашої гри;
  
• Завантажте архів за посиланням з мого Google Drive [drive.google.com];;
  
• Розпакуйте його вміст у корінь гри;
  
• Запустіть гру через dmcr.exe;
  
• Насолоджуйтесь ;)

Для користувачів Wine:

• Завантажте архів за посиланням з мого Google Drive [drive.google.com];
  
• Розпакуйте його вміст у корінь гри;
  
• Запустіть конфігурацію Wine ($ winecfg)
  
• На вкладці «Програми» додайте ваш dmcr.exe, якщо його там немає;
  
• На вкладці «Бібліотеки» переконайтеся, що dplayx вибрано як «Нативний, а потім вбудований»;
  
• Запустіть гру через dmcr.exe;
  
• Насолоджуйтесь ;)

ПРИМІТКА. Цей патч не видаляє SafeDisk чи інші засоби захисту, тому він не виправляє захист виконуваних програм у новіших ОС, напр. Windows Vista/7/8/10. Вам потрібно мати виконуваний файл без DRM або просто завантажити no-cd.

Google drive does no work anymore it sucks we bought all these game and now they just don't work at all, please re upload the patch. Especially American Conquest Fight back yes there are still fans of this title up to this day 2024:)
