Intro
Since my friends kept moaning to me about always ending up losing their filter loadouts and having to remake them every so often this might be of help to some of you since it's always worked for me.

Sorry AMD gang
Creating a preset
Disclaimer: Program Files is IMPORTANT, make sure you're not going into Program Files (x86)

1.) Go to C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\Ansel and launch NvCameraConfiguration.exe

It can also be downloaded here:

https://international-gfe.download.nvidia.com/GFE/GFEClient/NVCameraConfiguration/v1.0/NVCameraConfiguration_v1.0.0.6.zip

Optional Download Reshade shaders here[github.com] and put them in your C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\Ansel\ folder (if this doesn't exist, create it.)

2.) Check the Save Preset With Shot checkbox, then click Save - you can close it after doing so.

3.) Launch DbD (or any game) that supports Ansel or Freestyle.

4.) Hit Alt+F2 to bring up the Ansel Photo Mode overlay.

5.) In the Filter drop down menu, add whatever filters you want to use, you can also use your current Game Filter settings (Alt+F3) and take pictures or write down the values of filters but the changes has to be readded and done in Ansel's Photo Mode (Alt+F2).

6.) Click Snap to take a screenshot when are you happy with your applied filters, then close Ansel Photo Mode by hitting Alt+F2 or "Done".

7.) Press Alt+Z to open the overlay, click Gallery to the right, click/select the Ansel Snap/screenshot you just took and click Open File Location.

8.) This .ini contains all the filters and filter settings your Ansel Snap/Screenshot contained, I'm going to rename mine to Killer.ini

9.) Move your .ini file to C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\Ansel\Custom (if the folder doesn't exist, create it) to use it with Ansel Photo Mode or Freestyle Game Filter.
Loading a preset
1.) As mentioned earlier, my Killer.ini file or whatever you named yours is now located in C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\Ansel\Custom, and thus our Game Filter's can see it.

2.) Launch Dead by Daylight or whatever other game that supports Ansel/Freestyle.

3.) Hit Alt+F3 to bring up the Game Filter Freestyle overlay.

4.) Select one of the three Styles. (loadouts)

5.) Add a filter like you normally would, except look for the name whatever you named your .ini - in my case Killer.

There she is!
And then we just apply it!

Just a tip. If you enable the filters you regularly use, and then take a snap, you can then open the ini file in Notepad and make all your edits there, deleting the filters you don't want and adjusting the ones you do. This way you can duplicate the file and rename it according to the specific game without having to take the snap every time.

They managed to screw it up with the latest update 15.11.2023. Here's what I need to do to fix it.

1. make a backup of your preset preferably on the desktop for easy access. You will need to open it with any text editor while in game
2. delete the preset and all of the custom made folders, in the Nvidia folder
3. go into the game, open the filter configurator, and then manually recreate the settings found in one of your presets

Filters being wiped after every driver update has been around for years, how did they not fix this yet?
Additionally, this game is ******* ugly is hell without filters lol.

I always wanted to save my Nvidia filters, but they'd get overwritten after every driver update. This looks like it'll finally fix the issue for my game. Can't upvote because I don't have this game but take my points!!!

this doesn't work anymore - no ini file gets created. ansel is integrated into the driver now so I wouldn't expect an external tool to do anything.
