Upgrading to Mashed: Fully Loaded edition
1) Install Mashed on Steam
2) Download Mashed: Fully Loaded PC version (Google Drive link)[drive.google.com]
3) Delete all files in the Steam installed Mashed folder (Don't remove gamesave.bin if you wish to keep your save file)
4) Copy over all files from the downloaded Mashed: Fully Loaded version and paste them in the Steam created Mashed folder where you initially installed the game in step 1
5) Download and install RTSS[www.guru3d.com](Guru3D RTSS RivaTuner Statistics Server Download)
6) Open RivaTuner Statistics Server
7) At the bottom left, select the green "Add" button and locate the mashed.exe file in your Mashed Steam directory
8) Set the Framerate Limit on the right side to 60

9) Keep RivaTuner Statistics Server open and open Mashed through Steam (You can minimise RivaTuner Statistics Server, it will minimise to your taskbar's hidden icons)

The reason for having RivaTuner Statistics Server and limiting the framerate to 60 is to ensure that the game doesn't run at a lower framerate. For some reason, the base Mashed: Fully Loaded edition runs at 32 fps in game which can feel slow and janky compared to the Steam release. RTSS allows us to enjoy the features of Mashed: Fully Loaded edition while still having the smooth performance the Steam version has.
Mashed: Fully Loaded features
Summary:
Mashed: Fully Loaded is an expanded re-release of Mashed: Drive to Survive, featuring new maps, tournaments, and gameplay mechanics designed to make the multiplayer component of the game more enjoyable and accessible. The game came out around 2 years after the original and was created by the same development team at Supersonic Software Ltd.

New Features:
Mashed: Fully Loaded boasted several new features and improvements over the original game designed to make it more enjoyable, these include:
  • 6 New training modes offering an additional hour of gameplay
  • 3 New tournaments - 'Turbo', 'Ice' and 'Night'
  • Improved power-up pickup system, allowing players to be able to collect power-ups more easily and not having to drive directly over them
  • Improved camera system, particularly noticeable in multiplayer matches
  • All new special effects and a graphical overhaul to make the game run more smoothly and look better across all platforms

I was having the crashing issue too. It was a Window 11 update issue. This guide explains it all and fixes it:

On my PC after the intro it always crashes (but the normal Mashed too). This bug just appeared recently, also saw some other people suffer from it, no idea what to do.

Does anyone have a solution?

System win 11, but always worked before on 16bit.

@razihyder021 Navigate to your steam directory, it should be somewhere like this:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common

In that folder you should find your Mashed directory. Alternatively, right click on Mashed in Steam and select Manage > Browse Local Files and it should take you to your Mashed directory.

Successfully converted to Fully loaded using this- thank you.

To note, using NVIDIA control panel settings (Manage 3D settings -> Program settings ->choose Mashed as a program to customise ->override global settings for FPS to 60) is a viable alternative to installing RTSS.

Amazing! Got this to work on a mac using Parallels Windows (Arm). Converted the bin / cue to iso using bchunk (brew install bchunk and then do bchunk image.bin image.cue image.iso). Then mounted the iso in the mac. Copied the installation files on the mount to a virtual machine native location on C:, installed the PC version using those file (installing from the mount does not work). Then I could follow the guide with those installed files (copy them to steam location etc). RTSS was also needed and works.
Thanks a lot!

Hey guys, firstly appreciate this guide so much! So many great memories playing this game.
Hopefully you guys can help with my issue..
I'm trying to get setup with multiple controllers and play through my steam link. I just can't seem to get the controller setup right though.
When I have a (PS4) controller connected, the start-up select controllers tab has Controller 1 as "Controller (XBOX 360 for windows" and Controller 2 as "Keyboard". When in game, my controller and keyboard both act as player 2 (showing a keyboard icon when in the player select screen in a multiplayer game setup), and nothing acts as player 1 which is the arcade stick icon.
Adding a second controller adds another "Controller (XBOX 360 for windows" to the start-up select controllers tab, another arcade stick icon player in multiplayer setup, but still only controllers the keyboard icon player..
For reference I have the controller config which Lolight2 created.
Any help is appreciated!
