How to change the VHS tapes in Poppy Playtime

You will learn how to replace the movies in Poppy Playtime.

1. Finding the Movies

The first thing you need to do is go to your main drive. (Usually C:) and head-on into "C:Program Files (x86)". The full file location is "C:Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Poppy Playtime/WindowsNoEditor/Poppy_Playtime/Content/Movies".

2. Changing Said Movies

All you need to do, is get an *.MP4 file and place it in the Movies folder. How I usually do it is I rename the file, (Go into the rename screen so I can copy the name), then I put the name of the Movie I want to replace's name on the MP4 I want to replace it with. (I usually recommend creating a second folder in Content to put the original Movies, as a folder can't have two names that are the same.)

3. Fun

Now all that is left is to play around with said technique. (I don't know what happens if you remove a VHS without replacing it but you can figure that out on your own.) Unfortunately, you can't just put Youtube videos in there directly, you have to get an actual *.MP4 file. (And you can have some fun if you have your own custom-made videos.)

Unfortuantily, I don't think this is possible anymore, aside from the regular MP4 files and Employee Training tapes.. any of the tapes tag-lined "VHS" in the files, seem to be now baked into the games engine. As if you remove the VHS files from the Movies directory the game some how finds a way to still display the image

However, if you do this for the regular MP4 files and training tape videos.. without the tag name "VHS" the game breaks as it can't find the file.. therefore, it replaces it with a white backdrop..

Now I'm not sure what Chapters 2, 3 and 4 are like.. but judging by the new update to chapter 1 with new graphics and visuals.. I don't think this is possible anymore.. but I can't test out the other chapters as I don't have them myself.. so if there's anyone that wants to test that out for me feel free.. and report back..

But from what it looks like, this fun technique doesn't seem to work anymore.. which is sad : (
