Second Playthrough Achievements

This is a guide for quickly rounding up leftover achievements on a second playthrough. It does not go over any puzzle solutions and may contain spoilers.

Before starting
So this is basically just a list of the achievements you might be missing, in chapter and checkpoint order. The quickest way for every achievement is to invite your friend, select start a new journey, select the chapter and checkpoint, pick the right role, do the puzzle until you get your achievement, then quit out to main menu and repeat to skip the parts when you're together and there's no different achievement.

Roles
The roles this time around are less defined, but still matter when loading checkpoints, so I'll be specifying which to pick when it's relevant.


Now onto the achievements.

Best Friends Forever
Invite a friend to play We Were Here Forever!
Role: N/A
Self-evident, the one who didn't host should host this time. You can get away with only inviting, however for us, Entered the Ruins of Rockbury was only obtained by the host when entering Ch4 so I'd recommend switching hosts the second time around or you'll have to do an extra checkpoint later. I'll mention this again later in the guide.

Chapter 1
The Vault
Carried
Role:
Escaped from the deep dungeons
The part where you're going between large dials with symbols in a cage.

Projecting
Role:
Assisted in escaping from the deep dungeons
The part where you're projecting dials with symbols onto a wall with books referencing them.


The Trial
This is right after The Vault so you don't need to reload or switch roles.
Live Entertainment
Role:
Survived the trials
The part where you hold a large iron ball while moving around on different symbols on wood panels.

Blood Sport
Role:
Assisted in escaping from the trials
The part where you guide your friend to move onto the right symbols on wood panels.
Chapter 2
The Broken Road
Get A Head of Yourself
Role: Any but enter the secret room
Assisted in solving the riddles
The part where you're in a small room with many heads to hand over to your partner.

Capitulum Carnival
Role: Any but stay outside
Solved the riddles
The part where you're outside with theatrical scenes, being handed heads by your partner.
Chapter 3
The Lost
Grave Sins
Role:
Assisted in unlocking the treasure vault
The part where you're digging up graves in a graveyard.

Descendants Inheritance
Role:
Unlocked the treasure vault
The part where you're looking up genealogical trees with hints on coffins.


The Cache
This is right after The Lost so you don't need to reload or switch roles.
Cache Chase
Role:
Discovered hidden treasures
The part where you're digging up snow in the graveyard.

X Marks The Plot
Role:
Assisted in discovering hidden treasures
The part where you're breaking graves in a dark tomb.

The Ruins of Rockbury
Role: Any, be host
Entered the Ruins of Rockbury
It's technically in Ch4 however you need to do the part on the lift as you're entering, so go hand in your disc to the chapel, come back and use the lift. As mentioned above only the host obtained this for us so if you didn't switch hosts, you'll have to redo The Cache with the other player hosting. Once you get it you can just quit out and load next checkpoint.
Chapter 4
The Reflections

The part where you're placing mirrors and lenses.
Chapter 5
The Expedition
Aquatic Claustrophobic
Role: Any, put on the helm
Navigated the sunken mines
The part where you're walking around underwater.

Breathtaker
Role: Any, don't put on the helm
Assisted in navigating the sunken mines
The part where you're aligning pipes according to hints from your partner.

The Deep
Diplomatic Entity
Role: Any, don't enter the pod
Assisted in negotiations with the guardian
The part where you're using a dictionary to understand and speak with the guardian.

Monster Bargain
Role: Any, enter the pod
Negotiated with the guardian
The part where you're relaying the guardian's speech and transmitting messages.
Chapter 6
Finale
Forlorn
Paid the ultimate price
Role: Any, be abandoned

Evermore

So what i wanted to say. Your checkpoint saves will always show you your roles. So it can vary from what is in the guide in every single chapter (:

There are no roles in fact. It's only you and you friend and it can be anyone who drops into the well or steps into the cage, just remember that if you got to the point of no return and have to swap roles but cannot - always go to menu - last save - swap roles. Don't bother figuring who has which walkie talkie. It's schematics.

I can confirm that the descriptions for chapter 3 above are correct. The player with the slim walkie talkie starts above ground to dig up graves ("Grave Sins") and treasures ("Cache Chase").

It seems like the achievements for "The Cache" were originally swapped in the game, because my partner and I played the same parts on our first playthrough (about a year ago), but received the opposite achievements back then. Apparently this has been fixed since then.

Chapter 3 - The Lost

You need to invert the roles pictures for it to match the achievements.

Roles are reversed on the cache
