DNF 2001 Multiplayer Setup

Party Like It's 2001 And Get The Leak Prepped For Multiplayer!

Getting The Game

There Are A Few Different Places You Can Download The Game, But The Main Three Are Either Ozy's Github Distribution, (Download The Whole Codebase, It Has The Game In It. The Release System Isn't Used On This Repo.) The Original Anonfiles Upload, Or The Archive.org Page.

Once You Have One Of These Packages Unzip It Until You Have Three Folders, October 26, August 21, And Patches. Open The Patches Folder, The MegaPatch Folder, Then Select Everything In There And Right Click And Click Copy From The Context Menu. Go Back Up Until You See The Three Folders Again And Go Into The October 26 Directory. Right Click In The Empty Space To The Left Of The Icons And Select Paste From The Context Menu.

Now Your Game Is Ready For Mucking About And Can Join Vanilla Unpatched Multiplayer Servers, But Most Ones Running Are Patched, So Unless You Are Hosting A LAN Party Or Something, You'll Need To Follow The Rest Of The Guide.

Not All Settings Are Accessible From In Game, All Of The Important Ones Can Be Found Under Players/Duke

Getting Multiplayer Ready

The Current Multiplayer Patch Maintained By Ch0wW And THEBaratusII Can Be Found @ https://github.com/sirbaratusii/DNF01-MP-PatchPackage

This Repo Actually Uses Github's Release System, So Click The Link On The Right To Get Taken To The Download Page And Then Download The Zip Package (Don't Click Source Code, That's Unnecessary Here). Once That's Done Downloading You Want To Install It In The Same Way You Installed The MegaPatch From The Earlier Section. You Now Should Be Able To Connect To The Master Server And Join Other Multiplayer Sessions Through The Browser.
