Introduction / How to Use this Guide

This guide aims to help if you get stuck on your way through the Crimson Manor without having to endlessly search for the info you are looking for in a video.

How to use this guide

• Walkthrough
  The guide organizes the various parallel campaign paths into one progressive walkthrough with two consecutive main goals:
  
  1. Open the Art Room
     
  2. Find Hadley Strange's Legacy
  If you have not opened the Art Room yet you should browse the section Art Room: Overview to see which intermediate goals you have already accomplished. If you already opened the Art Room, the Legacy: Overview section is what you should look through.
  These overviews also provide summary descriptions of the steps required for each intermediate goal which may already help. If you need more precise information to find your way forward to an intermediate goal you can check the section corresponding to that intermediate goal with lots of screenshots.
  Finally, there is the Solutions section with spoiler-hidden solution images for some of the puzzles in the Manor.
  
  
• Items Overview
  Alternatively, you can check the Items Overview towards the end of the guide to see which item can be obained where and in what room that item can be used.
  
  
• Penny Dreadfuls
  Last but not least there is section displaying which Penny Dreadful you can find in which room of the Manor. There are no screenshots of precisely where to find the issue in each room. That would take all the fun out of the hunt ;)

Penny Dreadfuls

Sorry but I cannot answer these questions with certainty given that I created this guide more than 2.5 years ago. My best guess is that you have to get all Penny Dreadfuls in one playthrough. I am assuming this question will be answered somewhere in the discussion forum. As to the other ending, I do not remember as well. Again, check the discussions.

Thanks for the guide. Just finished the game. Do I have to start all over if I missed out two of the penny dreadful magazines? What are the two hidden acchievments? I opted for the syringe instead of the hammer. How can I see the other ending?

Not sure what you are talking about but the drawing room originally had a sort of buggy puzzle with sliding tiles. Maybe the devs replaced that. Sorry, cannot help...

The puzzle in the Drawing room is different for me - it wants me to rotate discs to get the correct image, but they won't line up. I know what the numbers are because I can get it almost there, but it means it won't copy the image into my notebook, and my hints won't progress past that puzzle despite me having solved it and used the clue. Anyone else get this problem?

I cannot click on the Penny Dreadful in the Master Bedroom, no matter what I try. Any tips? I am confident this is the one I am "missing."

Note for the strongbox in the parents' closet (Legacy 8, Step 9): if anyone else gets stuck here, make sure the arrows re-align in the "hourglass" shape (click sound) between direction changes - if you turn the dial too far, the game won't recognize it as solved.

I just brute-forced the combo, since there were only 216 possible solutions, and the white tile glitched out on me at the end of the drawing room puzzle. Ended up finishing the game.
