Crimes Against Humanity
Crimes Against Humanity according to https://www.un.org/en/genocideprevention/crimes-against-humanity.shtml

For the purpose of this Statute, ‘crime against humanity’ means any of the following acts when committed as part of a widespread or systematic attack directed against any civilian population, with knowledge of the attack:
  1. Murder; (technical yea but mainly scouts or spies with espionage nemesis DLC)

  2. Extermination; (yea mainly with apocalypse)

  3. Enslavement; (yea vanilla)

  4. Deportation or forcible transfer of population; (yea vanilla good with Raiding bombardment)

  5. Imprisonment or other severe deprivation of physical liberty in violation of fundamental rules of international law;(kinda Various livestock Job mod let you have sentient pets)

  6. Torture; (possible to scouts in first contact)

  7. Rape, sexual slavery, enforced prostitution, forced pregnancy, enforced sterilization, or any other form of sexual violence of comparable gravity; (sexual slavery possible with Various Servant Job mod but you can purge by Neuter with utopia DLC)

  8. Persecution against any identifiable group or collectivity on political, racial, national, ethnic, cultural, religious, gender as defined in paragraph 3, or other grounds that are universally recognized as impermissible under international law, in connection with any act referred to in this paragraph or any crime within the jurisdiction of the Court; (no I guess you can comment any mods to help me with this one)

  9. Enforced disappearance of persons; (yea to spies with nemesis DLC)

  10. The crime of apartheid; (well that one is hard but I would say yeah in vanilla if you enslave species and make them basic substance it is kinda like apartheid)

  11. Other inhumane acts of a similar character intentionally causing great suffering, or serious injury to body or to mental or physical health.( ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha sooo many)

For the purpose of paragraph 1:
‘Attack directed against any civilian population’ means a course of conduct involving the multiple commission of acts referred to in paragraph 1 against any civilian population, pursuant to or in furtherance of a State or organizational policy to commit such attack;(easy done)
Elements of the crime (this one is basically same as the first part)

According to Article 7 (1) of the Rome Statute, crimes against humanity do not need to be linked to an armed conflict and can also occur in peacetime, similar to the crime of genocide. That same Article provides a definition of the crime that contains the following main elements:

A physical element, which includes the commission of “any of the following acts”:
  1. Murder;(technical yea but mainly scouts or spies with espionage nemesis DLC)

  2. Extermination;(yea mainly with apocalypse)

  3. Enslavement;(yea vanilla)

  4. Deportation or forcible transfer of population;(yea vanilla)

  5. Imprisonment;(kinda Various livestock Job mod let you have sentient pets)

  6. Torture;(possible to scouts in first contact)

  7. Grave forms of sexual violence;(sexual slavery possible with Various Servant Job mod but you can purge by Neuter with utopia DLC)

  8. Persecution;(no not to my knowledge)

  9. Enforced disappearance of persons; (technical yea but mainly scouts or spies with espionage nemesis DLC)

  10. The crime of apartheid;(well that one is hard but I would say yeah in vanilla if you enslave species and make them basic substance it is kinda like apartheid)

  11. Other inhumane acts. (sooo many)

A contextual element: “when committed as part of a widespread or systematic attack directed against any civilian population”; and
A mental element: “with knowledge of the attack” (easy done)

RL crimes against humanity is nothing compared to "crimes against aliens", which you can actually commit in Stellaris to aliens. Even without mods, just with some DLC's:

1) vivisection during first contact (btw if you are RL marine biologist you actually commit this every day at work)
2) neutering
3) nerve stapling and keeping aliens in pens on thrall worlds
4) feeding on live aliens
5) cracking worlds of primitives
6) unleasing deadly sickness on enemy population (Javorian Pox)
7) abducting and killing enemy pops by slow torture (with Barbaric Despoilers or Nefarious Aquisition unique bombardment stance, if xeno rights are set to undesirables -> extermination it will just "dissappear" their pops instead of "proper" abduction)

this list is incomplete, you can help by expanding it

DrRitterstein even though you are not saying my list was incomplete originally I wanted both war crimes and crimes against humanity so it kinda is, but war crimes are often about pow and I don't take pow soooo. And Stellaris is to my knowledge game where you can break most of the war crimes and crimes against humanity I mean in what other games you can neuter species maybe in some → :darkangel: game

It's not a crime against humanity unless it's committed against humans. :barotrauma:
