A translation guide for Dragon and ???

Hi there! Hope you're all having fun dying a lot! I've gone through the effort recently in translating Gato's unique alphabet all the way from TINR for our "Mysterious" fire green demon! However it also has some spoilers for one of the routes endings, possibly one of the first you get playing in Dereks route. So I suggest reading this AFTER you achieved the ending yourself!

The Auction and a history lesson

Welcome! Today I have a hot take for all of our gore buddies that might have bumped into Dragon and Komodo! As well as our Demon Lord ??? Who will be referred to as such in this guide so as not to spoil all of the fun points!

If you're a veteran Gatobob fan like myself you truly enjoyed the throwbacks to all of the earlier content Gatobob had produced. One of which comes from This is Not Romance, a webcomic she released as one of her first big projects that was free and public. Unlike in this game, the language was more used to mask the alien speak going on as ??? originally was a major cause for the plot of the entire story. Later on we got a huge release of the alphabet as well as a font Gato reviled in her Gatoanswers tumblr account where she answered a large number of fan questions as well as showing off large additional details.

??? makes an appearance in Boyfriend to Death and it's successor Boyfriend to Death 2: Fresh Blood. However ??? being human in this instance to better fit the story, while still keeping his streak of being a class A murder boy. Now I won't dare to spoil the events of those as while The Price of Flesh takes place largely independent of the BtD series minus those throwbacks, it leads for a better understanding of the character that I feel is best explored in a first time run.

Now we reach The Price of Flesh, in which you are sacrificed for our "Mystery" Demon lord, so I'll provide the alphabet (Which is a font spreadsheet with capital letters and lower case letters having no difference in them, so you will see duplicates) this picture is straight from Gatoanswers so credit fully goes to one of the best artists of my time on that, Gatobob.

The meat

Now, the moment you all have been waiting for, my translation of the ritual, one that took a bit of time but after getting set up wasn't all that hard, just deciphering the alphabet!

Dragon: Grace us with his agony.

Dragon: In chaos we find reverence.
In pain we find comfort.

Dragon: Feed to him your pain.

Dragon: Accept this gift and come to us.

Dragon: Sensation has rotted away on this plane. You are needed.

Dragon: COME TO US!

???: My first gift...

???: I will treasure you.

The Burial

And there you have it, the history of the text as well as a vague story to hopefully stoke curiousity of those who love this game and have yet to play the BTD series or read TINR. Gatobob has released TINR for free as well as BTD and BTD2:FB are free as well, which also sees other artists such as DarqX (Who you may remember in the credits for those cute gifs for getting every ending in TPOF) so I eagerly urge to check those out!

Heya Emerald! Thanks for the tip, I actually just noticed dying of thirst had him state "Hahaha... Coward" when dying of thirst. I've been busy myself so hqven't explored the rest yet!

I believe there was more ??? dialogue in a couple other endings, iirc You bled out, the heat got to you, and you wandered the desert? Maybe I'll take the time to pull out the translation sheet and figure out what he's saying because I'm a simp for this demon man. <3
