First Bite and Bad Blood DLC: Walkthrough and Achievement Guide

All routes, achievements/dead-ends and CGs guide for First Bite. Now updated to include a full guide for the DLC!

Intro

Here are some tips that you might like to know before you start:

• There are 26 "Dead End" endings, and therefore many ways for you to die. Ilyas' route has, by far, the most, with a total of 11. The menu's "Death Tally" does not tell you which ending the blood drops correspond to, so pay attention to which blood drops you unlock immediately after you are sent to the main menu, before you load up the latest save.
  
  However, I understand that's not always possible, so for the purpose of this guide, I will tell you the blood drop number, way to get it, and what the special phrase at the death screen says, for ease of identification.
  
  
• "Dead Ends" will have their own specific section in this guide, instead of branching off from each character's path in their individual route sections. This is because there is a lot, and I do not want to overly-clog the individual character guides with excess information outside of achieving the "ending".
  
  
• Blood drop 5 will not unlock in the death tallies. A user has reported a typo in the game's code which prevents it from being unlocked.
  
  
• There is only one ending per vampire that is "good".
  
  
• Part 1 and 2 are exclusively for you to make your choice of vampire, and to successfully woo the one you are interested in. Part 3 is officially the start of your chosen vampire's "route" and, as far as I'm aware, affinity with them is reset to a fresh start. During Part 3, you must successfully convince them to turn you, rather than kill you.
  
  
• Part 4 does not have any choices. It is simply the epilogue. Sit back and enjoy it without feeling you need to check this guide for the next answer.
  
  
• Your eye-colour and pronouns, shockingly, of course do not matter. Go with whatever makes you comfortable. All of them are romanceable as any gender. No CG shows your character, and the default name "Noe Amsell" does not have any recorded voice lines you could potentially miss by naming yourself a custom name.
  
  
• The different choices between Friendship and Romance routes for each character are very minor, therefore I will not be making separate sections for each route. Instead, it will give choices like: "A" or "B" with clear indication which route it goes.
  
  
• I am tentatively mentioning a potential issue with Ilyas' route. You may need to "restart" Part 3 with him from the beginning of part 3 in order to get the good ending. Upon loading a save file where we talk about turning me, as if I'd won the affinity check, he then made me run or beg. There may be an issue with affinity resetting on load. This is not confirmed, but worth bearing in mind if you can't get Ilyas to turn you.
  
  
• I personally recommend doing Valeria's route first, then Ilyas' second, then Laurel's last, as that is the order of difficulty, Valeria being the easiest, and Laurel's being the hardest.

Valeria Route

Part 1

Just keep in mind that Valeria is overtly sexual in her speech, even towards you during the friendship ending. Both endings unlock her CG. Unlike Ilyas, Valeria doesn't require a certain level of affinity to be turned. You only need to watch out for death flag answers.

The first choice determines your route type. "Bone Zone" is obviously romance, "Sexy friends" is friendship, and "Play by ear" allows you to choose either later in the route. I recommend "Play by ear", but you might like to do "Bone Zone" and "Sexy Friends" to see the subtle changes from this. Note: "Those are their biggest hits!" is your only way to avoid death. You must ensure you pick it.

Part 3 - Route Begins

Forms of Imprisonment

Please note: "Dead End"s are in their own separate section.

If Valeria was easy, and Ilyas was difficult, then Laurel's a d*mn final boss fight. Buckle up.

There are many different ways for Laurel and Noe's relationship to end in this route, from being suspended in the air naked, to sitting on a bed politely and fully clothed. Because of this, I will not be covering the friendship route. Simply and politely tell Laurel each time you are prompted if you do not want to be sexual or intimate with them, and the story will not punish you.

Both friendship and romance endings unlock their CG. Like Ilyas, Laurel requires a certain level of affinity to pass, and you must "entertain" them for long enough whilst avoiding activating any death flags. There are multiple ways to do this, as Laurel likes many things you can do. For this guide, I am following the "best" responses for them, albeit they may not be as sexy, or fun as some choices.

Dead End Guide

Blood drop order starts from top left, reading to the right.

• #1 - Common route: Early on, respond "I'm an expert on your kind" Text says: "Totally worth it."
  
  
• #2 - Common route: When asked why they shouldn't kill you, respond "If you kill me, people will find you." Text says: "Nice Try."
  
  
• #3 - Common route: Say that you want none of them to turn you. Text says: "Meow." This also unlocks the achievement "Death by cat."
  
  
• #4 Common route: The vampires hate you. None of them are interested in turning you when you ask is anybody an option. Ensure that they don't like you as much as possible by picking bad choices.Text says: "F*ck around, find out"

  "To get dead end 5, you need to have low affection with all of them and pick LESS than 4 of the bad options, but due to a typo in the code, blood drop in death tally will not unlock."
  
  
• #6 - Laurel's route: Follow the dialogue choices until Laurel asks why you want to be a vampire. "I'd like to see how far I can throw a truck. -> Punish people." Text says: "Sounds like you want spandex and a cape more than a pair of fangs."
  
  
• #7 - Laurel's route: Follow the dialogue choices until Laurel asks why you want to be a vampire. "Bang my ex like a screen door -> make them obsessed with me." Text says: "Well, that's one way to get over your ex."
  
  
• #8 - Lauren's route: Follow dialogue choices until you reach Laurel ask what you want. Answer "I want a death that suits me. -> No, wait, no I'm not." Text says: "Nobody likes a flip-flopper."
  
  
• #9 - Laurel's route: Follow dialogue choices until you reach Laurel ask what you want. Answer "I want a death that suits me -> I'm sure of it." Text says: "You got your wish, send a postcard in your next life."
  
  
• #10 - Laurel's route: "I'd prefer the door unlocked. -> Yes, I would've offered to strip earlier. -> Actually, I'd kinda prefer one of the others." Text Says: "Can you blame him? Nobody wants to feel unwanted."
  
  
• #11 - Laurel's route: Have a low affinity with Laurel by the time they come to turning you. You can tell affinity is low if you hurt your knees when you kneel in front of them. Say stupid, shallow things that show you don't care much - but also taking care to avoid the "death flag" dialogue options as you go. (Laurel will also note you don't deserve them elaborating during conversation midway, if it's low.) Text Says: "Immortality awaits the determined. Try again?"
  
  
• #12 - Ilyas' route: Avoid looking around Ilyas' room. "Sounds like you want me to try to escape -> What does fear smell like? -> How would you do it? -> Do it." Text says: "Well, you did ask for it."
  
  
• #13 - Ilyas' route: Avoid looking around Ilyas' room. "Sounds like you want me to try to escape -> What does fear smell like? -> How would you do it? -> Please stop. -> No." Text says: "And you didn't even entertain him? For shame."
  
  
• #14 - Ilyas' route: Ilyas' route: Avoid looking around Ilyas' room. "Sounds like you want me to try to escape -> What does fear smell like? -> How would you do it? -> Please stop. -> Please don't kill me." Text says: "Perhaps asking a vampire to scare you is a bad idea?"
  
  
• #15 - Ilyas' route: Avoid looking around Ilyas' room. "You don't do this much, huh? -> You don't have to sit here, you know? -> I'm only interested in you. -> Pretend to be afraid. -> Touch them!" Text says: "But at least you got to touch his abs."
  
  
• #16 - Ilyas' route: Avoid looking around Ilyas' room. "You don't do this much, huh? -> You don't have to sit here, you know? -> I'm only interested in you. -> Flatter him. -> You should take that off. -> I can't imagine a better way to go." Text says: "Well, at least you got him to take his shirt off."
  
  
• #17 - Ilyas' route: Avoid looking around Ilyas' room. "You don't do this much, huh? -> You don't have to sit here, you know? -> I'm only interested in you. -> Flatter him. -> You should take that off. -> You're the most perfect man in existence." Text says: "Close, but no vampire d*ck cigar..."
  
  
• #18 - Ilyas' route: Avoid looking around Ilyas' room. "You don't do this much, huh? -> You don't have to sit here, you know? -> I'm only interested in you. -> Flatter him. -> You should take that off. -> Man, you REALLY are full of yourself." Text says: "Well, I hope you're happy. I think you hurt his feelings."
  
  
• #19 - Ilyas' route: Have poor affinity with Ilyas, then choose "with me in the dirt?" or "with me by your side?" when Ilyas asks if you know how the night is going to end. Then choose to "Beg". You can also get this by following the "You could just bite me" option as well. Text says: "You could've gone out with a bang bang bang"
  
  
• #20 - Ilyas' route: Have poor affinity with Ilyas (doable by being rude about his room), then choose "with me in the dirt?" or ""with me by your side?" when Ilyas asks if you know how the night is going to end. Then choose to "Run". You can also get this by following the "You could just bite me" option. Text says: "You really thought you could outrun him?"
  
  
• #21 - Ilyas' route: Raise your affinity with Ilyas enough to sleep with him, but not enough to be turned into a vampire. Please look in the next section for the exact words to use with him, as this end has been tricky for people. Text says: "You have died of thirst."
  
  
• #22 Valeria's route: Immediately mention the Dracula book, then insist on talking about Van Hellsing. Text says: "Learn to read the room, maybe?" and also unlocks the achievement "In the name of Helsing"
  
  
• #23 - Valeria's route: Say "I'm having second thoughts" when she asks if you're ready to be turned. Text says "Too late for Takebacksies, kitten."
  
  
• #24 - Valeria's route: "Answer "Not of you" when she asks if you're afraid. Text says: "Tell the murder-h*rny vampire you're afraid next time."
  
  
• #25 - Ilyas' route: Avoid looking around Ilyas' room. "You don't do this much, huh? -> You don't have to sit here, you know? -> I'm only interested in you. -> Flatter him. -> Dreams do come true. -> I can't imagine a better way to go." Text says: "Sucks to be you. HA."
  
  OR
  
  #25 - Valeria's route: "I want to become like you. -> Because... uh, why not?" Text says: "Sucks to be you. HA."
  
  
• #26 - Common route: Don't enter the house at the beginning "on second thought, let's not" Text says: "YOU LEFT? What a fun game, I GUESS." - This also unlocks the achievement "Dead End... End."

Disclaimer: There are other "endings" with different text and scenarios, that are not classed as a different ending.

For example: "Is 'anyone of you' an option?" when none of them sufficiently liked you enough will grant you "Well, that was silly of you." yet does not give a new ending.

or

"Execute a convoluted web of machinations" in Laurel's route will grant you "Maybe next time, don't reveal your dastardly plan."

These are both not "new" endings.(Or they could be and my game is messed up and didn't pop them for 5)

Dead End #21

For now, this is just a guide on how to get Dead End #21 as a user struggled getting this (and I realise my advice was not correct in the original guide, sorry Ollie!). I will be adding more Dead Ends that are difficult to get as and when people struggle with the above section.

Dead End #21

Here are the options that will unlock 21, once you're on ilyas' route:

Achievements and CGs

There are 10 achievements in "First Bite"!

• Breaking and Entering - Enter the house.
  
• Dead End... End - Don't enter the house.
  
• Death by Cat - Choose none of them when they ask who you want to turn you.
  
• Entered Ilyas' lair - Ilyas takes you in. (Follow route if you're struggling.)
  
• Entered Valeria's lair - Valeria takes you in. (Follow route if you're struggling.)
  
• Entered Laurel's lair - Laurel takes you in. (Follow route if you're struggling.)
  
• In the name of Helsing - In Valeria's route, insist on talking about Helsing.
  
• Juegolad's Stan - In Ilyas's route, tell him to name 5 songs and say those are their greatest hits.
  
• Kitty Collector - In Laurel's route, finish your discussion by making a cat's cradle, tell them that's what you're here for, and that you don't know what they mean. Then go along with it. Nyan, nyan.
  
• Welcome to the Family - In any route, survive and become a vampire. (Follow routes above if you struggle.)

CG #1 is non-missable on the common route.
CG #2 is Ilyas' route, if you survive.
CG #3 is Valeria's route, if you survive.
CG #4 is Laurel's route, if you survive.

DLC Update - Access Tutorial and Intro

In order to play the DLC, you will need to enable it in the game settings. First off, make sure you have the game and DLC installed - check in the steam store page for the DLC if you're struggling to see if you definitely have it.

Then, right click the game in your games library, and click "properties" at the bottom. This will open a settings menu pop-out, and you'll want to go down to "DLC" at the bottom left. When that opens, make sure the check box is crossed on the DLC. This will ensure it's included when you launch.


If the normal game loads up with the default game loading screen, the DLC is not there

Unlike other DLC you might've seen for otome games, this ones is treated like an entirely different game, not just DLC blended into it. On launching the game, if the DLC is installed, you will get a new pop-up asking you which of the two games you want to play. It is essentially a sequel - to the point I was debating whether to make a second guide and treat it like one. But because it doesn't have achievements, we'll stick with this guide. It is recommended you DO NOT click "always launch this option" or you will lock the other game from launching permanently - at least until you uninstall and reinstall the DLC.























Before I go into the next sections, a small disclaimer:

A large amount of the choices in the game do not matter. What matters is practising discretion. The meaningful choices are: Don't kiss up to Rose, use the mind control with Laurent correctly (always the bottom choice), tell Ilyas that making a huge mess of bodies is a bad idea, tell Val you aren't sure you could control yourself, and then go for the forearm. The rest are just "optimal" routes that have the most to do with that character and let you interact with them in a positive way that you'll enjoy the most, based on a sexual and asexual version.

All routes give you at least 3 CGs (other than the bad end which gives 1), but only sexual endings will give you all CGs. All Asexual routes lock you out of a final decision which has a sexual CG.

This guide will have all the good endings for the 3 love interests from the first game, and I will give sexual and nonsexual endings for personal preference for the player. The devs have confirmed that you will not be penalised for being asexual, so play how you like.

Like the base game, this one also has 4 CGs, and I will list them when each is found.

DLC Ilyas Ending (Non-sexual sire)

For this playthrough, choose Ilyas as your sire, and say you aren't sexual with him. This removes the red hearts from a few of the future choices. This gets you the 1st, 2nd and 4th CG.

For this route, choose Ilyas as your sire, and say that you were in a sexual relationship with him. This route unlocks all CGs. Unfortunately for asexuals, that is because one CG is a literal orgy picture that will not happen unless the game knows you're sexual.

It should be noted: You can get through Val and Laurent's parts on this route without being sexual with them, if you want. This is just the route I'm using for polyamory because it feels like the one that would "suit it" best with the rest of the choices. It's entirely your choice, though.

DLC Valeria Ending (Sexual Sire)

To get dead end 4, you need to have low affection with all of them and pick 4 specific choices: "I want to protect people" or "I want to mess with people"->"I'd save the world", "I don't like cats", "I'd give you a killer foot rub", "Is any of you an option?".
To get dead end 5, you need to have low affection with all of them and pick LESS than 4 of the above options. But due to a typo in the code, blood drop in death tally will not unlock.

omg the most wild thing about reading this is that i did laurel first, then valeria, and didnt die once in either. im shocked to find out how many deaths there really are in this game! i only came here to figure out why i didnt have enough affinity to choose ilyas when it worked for the other two.
