Subwoofer: How to make it work properly (aka Vibrations like the Arcade Cabinet)
By RadiantAnsel「MSD/AGE」
I see a couple of questions of "why subwoofer is not working as it should" sort of questions:

Well, it's actually pretty trivial but not mentioned anywhere, so allow me to make this as easy as possible!

You need the "C/Sub" Port, if you don't, how to get it (Both Desktop and Laptops)
If your subwoofer is not working as intended on Darius Steam ports, that's because it has to be recognised by Windows (If somebody has been able to run the game on Steam Deck or Linux/Proton, please also tell us! Gladly appreciated)

If your motherboard has such connections on its back, is the "C/Sub" port.
Usually, most motherboards do have this, the cheapest ones do not (or if you have most prebuilts like a Dell, they also probably don't have it), if you don't have such port, do not worry, there are very easy solutions to do so.

You can try using a sound card (which will increase the sound quality severely, especially more if you have audiophile equipment like me).
My personal recommendation is the Creative Sound Blaster X3, X4 or if you happen to own an X7, that also works (all of them will work with said features if your mobo didn't had it, if it has it, better sound, and they work on consoles/mobile too).

A small update, but it seems there is a very cheap, very easy to find in second market one called "Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi", which seems to be around 20, 30, or in Mexico, around the 50 dollar mark, pretty cheap compared to the past options!

Lastly, the other cheap option you can do, is... buying a sound card!
You don't have to get any top of the line ones, so long you have access to that "C/Sub" orange port, you are good to go.
In fact, these ones should be very easy to find, should fit on anything, and you can probably find something nice from the used market from the yester-years.

Another thing to mention: I'm not sure if DariusBurst CS has a way to activate the BodySonic vibrations with these methods, but that game is incredibly bassy already, so you get vibrations for the music as a replacement either way

You can get vibrations with sub with for example, those Logitech PC Speakers that are very common, but they will not work as intended.

I would recommend getting an active power subwoofer (The shop "Tsukumo" has a "Yamaha NS-SW050", you could also follow this video if you want to get one)

plug it in, and then for speakers, well, your choice!
For speakers, I have many things to mention for a recommendation, these will of course work for more than just playing Darius:
-If you need some desk speakers, any of those logitech Speakers, even without a subwoofer, Stereo, will totally work fine, a sound bar might actually be very nice to get too.

-But in my personal experience and recommendation, just get ***ANY*** old Stereo, Mini Component, literally any Hi-Fi system you can get with an AUX-in port, or with a cassette port too (So you can use an adapter), and the audio you will get is like 5x better for basically anything, it's not even funny to compare.
I'm using an old Philips FWM996X that my grandma gave me away, and it legit just transforms the sound quality, again, literally anything works!

This is the cassette adapter if your system didn't have the aux port (Any brand should get the job done):

Running Steam on Garuda Soaring 64-bit.
Kernel: 5.17.7-zen1-1-zen
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER
CPU: Intel i5-9600K @ 4.8GHz

Both proton experimental and ge-custom work great.

I recommend to other users the soundblaster audigy rx 7.1 card, it's the best bang for ur buck at about $70. it was the last soundblaster card with the midi chip, too.
