How to: Save-Scum Your Way to 100% Completion in Plants vs. Zombies

Plants vs. Zombies is not normally a painfully difficult game. However, this can quickly change if one decides to pursue 100% completion. This is a guide to help ease that pain and will cover how to unlock, by far, the 2 most difficult achievements in the game: Better Off Dead and China Shop. You can also earn infinite money using this strategy.

- The Strategy -

For simplicity's sake, I will first explain how to apply this in any mode.

First, enter a gamemode. Now, hit 'Menu' -> 'Main Menu' -> 'Leave'. This will create a checkpoint. Now, re-enter the level and press 'Continue'. That's it! You can do this as many times as you want at any time. However, if you lose, DO NOT press 'Try Again'. This will wipe your save. Instead, press 'Main Menu' and re-enter the mode as usual. If you are using this method for Survival Endless, you may click 'Restart Level' whenever and re-enter the mode. (Also, yes, you may exit the game and it will not affect your save).

- China Shop -

To earn this achievement, you must earn a streak of 15 in Vasebreaker Endless.

Sounds easy, right? Well, then give it a shot... or fifty. To earn this achievement without the blessing of RNGesus, you must utilize the strategy we discussed earlier. We will refer to it as the "Menu Method" for simplicity. I recommend creating a checkpoint every level. Break the vases on the right first and make sure to not overwhelm yourself. Remember, Squash placement is key to victory. Soon enough, you should unlock China Shop!

- Better Off Dead -

To earn this achievement, you must earn a streak of 10 in I, Zombie Endless.

This achievement is, by far, the most difficult to obtain in Plants vs. Zombies. However, you can drastically improve your odds by utilizing the Menu Method. I recommend to count how many hits each unit can take. Experiment.

As you can see, so far this section is very undercooked. That is not without reason, because we will be utilizing another strategy.

The video below introduced me to this method, so I believe it is only fair I credit the author and have you watch their video as it is also much easier to understand since you can see it in action.

Remember, this will not guarantee victory, but using both of these methods will drastically improve your odds.

- Infinite Money -

This is a slightly-altered version of the Menu Method and can be used to earn achievements such as Morticulturalist and Towering Wisdom.

First, enter a mode. I recommend one you haven't done as you will earn a gem as opposed to five gold coins. However, either will suffice. Remember that each mower left after a level will yield a gold coin and add to your reward. Now, all you need to do is beat the level, but when your reward drops, DO NOT pick it up. Instead, perform the Menu Method and re-enter the level. Grab your reward and wait to be sent back to the title-screen. You may now re-enter and repeat for as long as you can stay awake.

- Conclusion -

I already know about the infinite money glitch method with the save strat but I didn't know you can use the same glitch to make important check points for the 'China Shop' and 'Better Off Dead' achievements.

Kinda wish, i knew about this earlier before I got my achievements the legit way (except the Tree of Wisdom one) but thanks for sharing this info m8

[Wreckless Incompetence]

Vasebreaker endless is best done by starting with the far-right columns, placing threepeaters on the second and fourth rows at the far left, placing the snow peas on the 1st and 5th rows, and placing the peashooter in the third row. Go from there, kill Gargantuars with 2 squashes, and you'll hit 15 in no time. My record on my ancient disk version was 53, and my record on mobile is 49
