Open Cheat Engine

• In your value type your current amount of your gold
  
• Select Value type: Double
  
• Hit first scan

Step 4 (Advanced)

• After your first scan, it should give you overall two values.
  
• Select them both and click on red arrow

Step 5 (Advanced)

• Double click your highlighted value
  
• In address add -8
  
• Click OK

Step 6 (Advanced)

• Double click again at your highlighted value
  
• Remove your current value and type -1
  
• Click OK
