Popular stats, engraving effects and stones

ENGRAVING

The engraving system is unlocked shortly after completing the story-line for West Luterra. This opens up two slots in the character window for Engraving Effects and another slot for Engraving Stone. Equipping engraved items and effects grants our character with extra stats and buffs; such as increased crit rate, full on defense and faster cooldown on ultimate abilities.

Once we've reached T1 armor and above, accessories will also provide engraving capabilities - which can be combined with our already equipped effects to further strengthen them.

🔮Engraving Effects

First and foremost, let's learn about effects and how we can activate them. A complete list of effects can be found in the ᴬᴸᵀ ⁺ ᴵ menu. These are divided into two categories: combat and class.

Combat effects are buffs related to fighting. It will directly impact our damage output, defense and many other things depending on our choices. It can even summon a small horde of undead to fight by our side.

Class effects are in harmony with our class's ultimate ability. It can make it stronger and recharge faster. The bonuses vary depending on which class we're playing.

Engraving effects are shared across alts👍🏽

Understanding effect levels
Each effect scales off three levels and, naturally, the higher its level, the stronger the effect. To benefit from these, we need to begin by activating five nodes; then ten and fifteen for the most powerful level.

This means that we need 5 nodes to activate level 1... 10 nodes for level 2 and 15 for level 3.

📜Engraving recipes

Using recipes is undoubtedly the easiest way to get started. These are mainly obtained through quest rewards, dailies, weeklies and marketplace - as well as endgame content such as the Tower, Cube, Chaos Dungeon, etc.


Reading 20 uncommon recipes (green) will unlock 3 nodes
20 rare recipes (blue) will unlock an additional 3 nodes
and so on...


The progress for each Effect can be seen inside the Engraving Effect ᴬᴸᵀ ⁺ ᴵ menu. We can equip these as soon as they reach uncommon 20/20 (green). Simply drag-and-drop inside the character window...

It's worth mentioning that we can equip the same one twice. So if, let's say, we unlocked 3 nodes by using 20 green recipes.... we equip it twice, which doubles its value to 6 - therefore, enabling level 1.

🪨Engraving stones

It should be much easier to understand engraving stones now that we know which effects we're interested in. We've invested in engraving recipes, but maybe it's not quite enough to unlock what we want -- or maybe we want to equip more than one effect... Engraving stones are here for this purpose.

Early drops won't activate many nodes, but this will change as we level up and reach new lands with better, stronger loot.


Where to get stones
Regular dungeons starting from Lastra Forest and forward will begin dropping engraving stones. They can also drop from endgame content such as the Chaos Dungeon, etc; and are sometimes available as Una's Tasks rewards.


Activating a stone
Before we can equip a stone, we need to get it faceted by an ability stone cutter NPC. Luterra Castle has one located in Prosperity Plaza near the marketplace and auctioneer - This NPC is available in any major cities.

The rest of the process is semi-strategic:
1. Look at the two good effects and decide which one is most important
2. If success rate higher than 65% = facet the important fx
3. If between 55-65% = facet the less important fx
4. If lower than 45% = facet the bad fx

We may be rewarded a bonus stat if we succeed x times on the "good" effects 👍🏽

This facet any good?
The final results will decide whether or not our stone is decent. Anything with 5 nodes or more will activate level 1 -- if that's on a good effect, then it's wonderful -- if it's on a bad effect, then it's unfortunate.

It's very likely that we'll have good stones with 3 or 4 nodes as we begin our faceting journey. This is still very good for beginners. Simply combine the stone with an effect originating from the Engraving Effect menu ᴬᴸᵀ ⁻ ᴵ

For example, equipping an Engraving Effect would grant us 3 nodes; we need 5 to activate first base -- so then, we equip a stone which, let's say, gives 2 nodes. Now we have 5 in total... which activates level 1!


My facet is poop
Faceted stones with unfortunate results can be dismantled in the inventory. Sometimes, "powder" will be given back to us and we can exchange it at the stone cutter NPC for higher quality stones.

💍Accessories

After reaching ilvl 302, jewelry will begin to have engraving effects as well. Some have good effects, some have bad ones... Remember that we will not be affected by a bad effect if it has less than 5 nodes in total. (Because five nodes activates level 1. If we have between one to four nodes, level 1 is not activated)

🚦Combinations

We can combine engraving effects from various sources to work towards our goal. For example, 6 nodes from reading recipes + 3 nodes from a stone + 1 from jewelry would give us a total of 10 nodes for that particular effect. This would activate level 2!
