Fireball Island: Curse of Vul-Kar is finally here on Tabletop Simulator!

VUL-KAR IS BACK,
and he’s meaner than ever. This fully restored version of the 1986 classic offers an amazing new island, a charming new narrative, stunning new components, and engaging new gameplay. Play cards to race across the island. Gather treasures and take snapshots. And, of course, blast your friends with fireballs!

The new version offers more marble mayhem with a dynamic Vul-Kar figure that keeps you guessing where they’ll come out. But make sure you get back to the Hello-copter to really max out your score.

Tabletop Simulator Version Notes
It is important to note that Tabletop Simulators physics are limited and do not accurately portray the real life physics of the game. Some rules may need to be changed as a result.

Although the map was painstakingly recreated from 3D scanning, the topology is not perfectly accurate to the original game.

This version is the discontinued original version, not the re-released smaller version. Out of respect for the original creators at Restoration Games, we will NOT port the expansions which are still for sale. If you wish to see the expansions, buy the game.

There is an alternative, longer version of the game in the notes that uses dice movement instead of card movement, as during testing we found the games did not last long.

Use flicks for embers.

Beta
This is a beta version. There are still placeholders in place that unfortunately was beyond my capabilities to port. If you have experience modeling and would like to complete the missing models please let me know, we have many reference photos and scans. More changes and updates are coming. I am releasing this slightly early as real life is about to catch up and I wanted something you guys could play.

  • The Heart of Vul-Kar Crystal
  • Hello-copter
  • Maw Treasure Holder
  • Island Covers

Placeholdered components:
  • Bridges
  • Ladder
  • Trees

Known Issues:
Please report any issues you find in the comments except the following:
  • Alt-Zoom currently is nonfunctional (water shader issue)
  • One of the positions for the head causes one of the fireball launch positions to get stuck
  • Some tree blocker positions do not block balls (they go right over.)
  • Topology error near one of the Pos2 caves
  • Buttons are placeholder

I did experiment with an actual 3D scanner, the mesh model came out perfect, much better then the photo scanning but the texture was really messed up. I'm sure if I played with it a lot it would eventually come out well, but it doesn't seem worth it. Might add the trees, seems fine to scan, even if not perfect. Jewel is just unscannable.

Hi Nonamo, I tried to recreate your bug was unable to. I looked through the code and couldn't find anything that would effect the decks present in the game.

Was playing this tonight, and we had a bug come up where if the draw pile is picked up and moved for any reason, the discard pile will constantly suck the entire Deck draw pile to it and flips it; regardless of whether you put the draw pile back (including with the snapping)
When this happens, it doesn't shuffle the discard and place it back onto the Deck pile either.

Trying to shuffle the deck and put it back just ends up with the draw pile sucking cards out of the players hand/pointer

Definitely needs some polishing, but looks interesting for sure.
