The ultimate guide - PURGO BOX (WIP)

This guide is a collection of the things I found and how I got them. This game is really confusing, especially for beginners so this is a guide for everyone that is stuck and doesnt know how to move on.

The main task of this game

The main task of this game is mainly to explore and find secrets and other useful things. But Monekos main goal is to collect boxes for Master Mu, but also to befriend as much people as possible.

Hakoya

There are many varying characters you can meet in Purgo Box, but there are special characters that you need to be friends with to move on in the story and to get the different endings. Every character has different things they like, so this list will also help you with this.

Hakoya is the first girl you will meet in Purgo Box she is the one sitting in the box shop, the room right beside Master Mus room, with the sign above its entryway. She hates what Master Mu and you are doing, she doesn't see a point in putting the souls in a box. And she seems to be a childhood friend of Moneko.

Why can't I go further than 199 favoribility points?
You have to do one thing before you can increase the favoribility above 199 points, you have to burn down your old home with the Matchsticks. You can reach your old home by waiting approximately a minute in the white room, the room you always start in. Once you are there you can just choose the Matchsticks in your inventory and click on the house. Now a sequence will play out where you burn down your house. THIS AREA WONT BE ACCESSIBLE ANYMORE AFTER YOU BURN THE HOUSE DOWN. Now just go back to Hakoya and talk to her, you are now able to increase the favoribility again.

Where can I find the Matchsticks?
In the forest area, go left and enter the hospital, go out of the hospital with the exit at the left end of the room. Get yourself caught by the woman in the corridor. Now you are in the blue hallway, wait for a bit and you will be teleported into a red room. Walk to the left and you will find yourself in a room with a woman without a face. Walk into her and you will be teleported again. You are now in a field of these woman, find the one who is moving, look around the left side of the room. Walk into her and now you are in the room with the Matchsticks.


Ability: "Open the box."
Hakoya has a special ability, you can give her 1 Box and she gives you back Blue Souls in exchange. The amount is random everytime.

Chisui

Chisui is a famous idol that hates being stuck in this position, but she is grateful for being picked up by her producer from the situation she was living in before. Chisui is behind the pink door that is besides the Live-stage where she performs.

How do I get to Chisui?
The first time you will get to the door where Chisuis room is behind there will be a guard preventing you from entering. You will have to wait for Chisui to start her show, while her show is going on there will be another guard that lets you in, if you have one Flower Boquet. You can now enter her room, there will be Her Underwear in the corner, pick it up. If you now come back when her show is not airing while the other guard is standing infront the door, give him the Underwear and he will leave, now you are able to enter Chisuis room and meet her.

Chisuis quest
If you reach 199 favoribility with Chisui, you cant go further than that until you complete her main quest. At first you will have to enter the company where Chisuis producer is the boss of, there you will have to talk with the receptionist, he will tell you that you have no reason to be here. After that you should go back to Chisui and talk to her until she mentions that you went to the company, then you should go back to the receptionist, now he will tell you that you can go in because you know Chisui. Take the elevator to the 99th floor, where you can meet the producer, talk with him about letting Chisui go. Following this, go back to Chisui and talk to her until she mentions a key that the producer has lost, choose "Yes" and take the Key Of The Producer. Go back to the elevator in the company building and interact with it, there you will find a small keyhole, use the Key. Go down with the elevator to the floor "B1". Where you will find a basement with cages and prison cells. Talk with the girl behind the second door. Go back up to the producer and talk to him about the girls in the prison downstairs. Now you will have to make a deal. (The option field is not working for me, I am using the english version, just press enter, the choice you make dosen't seem to affect the outcome, if the choice matters please correct me.) Now just go back to Chisui and tell her that she is finally free, now you can proceed to increase the favoribility.

Ability: "Asking for things."
Chisui has a special ability, that unlocks after you have put the doctor in the hospital into a box. With this ability you can get different items from her, which item you will get is random. You have to wait a certain amount of time until you can activate that ability again.

Riyona

Riyona is a girl that was stuck in an abusive realtionship with her boyfriend. They seemingly have parted ways, but she still would do anything for him even if it would hurt her, she just doesn't want to be alone. You can find Riyona if you go into the alleyway, right beside Master Mus room, and go right up the stairs.

How do I get to Riyona?
At the beginning Riyona has locked herself in her room and you will need to find Her Room Key. The Room Key is located in the blue bridge room where the Charis waits for you to give him enough Ropes to reach the bridge on the other side.
This is the room where Riyonas key would be located

Riyonas quest
To gain above 199 favoribiliy points with Riyona you have to kill her abusive boyfriend, who seemingly trys to find a way to kill himself, this also has to be done to solve the quest given by Master Mu, where she tells you to shut up the girl upstairs. He is found at different points across the map. But at first, if you don't have it already, you have to get the Knife. The Knife Item can be aquired from the girl in the last room, if you go over the bridge in the blue bridge room. Kasumi will give you the Knife if you reach a favoribility of 25 points with her. If you acquired the Knife you will have to find the boyfriend and talk to him until he reaches his final location.
These are the locations, in order, where he can be found:

1. On the second floor in the big red room where you can find the owl and enter the shop from.
   
2. On the other side of the bridge in the blue bridge room.
   
3. Under the drain that is inside Riyonas room.
   
4. Infront of Riyonas room.
   
5. In the waiting room in the hospital.

If her boyfriend is in the last location, you can kill him with the Knife, now go back to Riyona and talk to her. After that you can increase the favoribility points again.

What does Riyona like?
Riyona likes Ropes, Pills, Flower Boquets and all foods.

Ability: "I need your knitting."
Riyona has a special ability where you can ask her to knit you something.
These are the things you can knit:

• You can knit 1 Net in exchange for 1 Rope.
  
• You can knit a Heat-Resistant Suit for 5 Heat Threads.
  
• You can knit a Oxygen Suit for 5 Oxygen Threads.

Kasumi

Kasumi is a girl that loves to kill other creatures, she loves their souls. She is found in the last room if you go along the path in the blue bridge room.

Kasumi can only have a certain amounts of Red Souls (I think it's 50 Red Souls, but I am not sure) until she transforms into a monster because of all the Red Soul consumption. If she has transformed she can never go back to her old self, so all the interactions and all the rewards and the ending are lost and are unaccessible at this point. The same thing happens if you exchange to many Red Souls for Blue Souls.
Kasumi can also disappear if you don't choose the "I will give you my soul" option, when you meet her the first time.

Ability: "Deal."
Kasumi has a special ability where you can exchange 10 Red Souls for 1 Blue Soul.
Warning: This can also lead to her transformation into a monster!

Hakako

Hakako once worked in the Tomb Child Institute as a scientist, she is highly intelligent and was the lead scientist in the institute, but after an incident where mother, (I didn't really understand who she is but it seems to me that she is the boss of the institute?) stopped her from researching further and took away all her means of research. She moved away from the institute, and can now be found in the teleporter room, you can reach this room if you follow down the alleyway besides Master Mus room, and after that just go down the next alleyway there she will be.

Ability: "The machine."
Hakako has a special ability, where you can give Mysterious Junk to her and she in exchange builds a Rotten Flower Generator, which you can upgrade later, an Automatic Shrimp Generator, which also can be upgraded later or a Rotten Flower Purifier.
The Rotten Flower Generator and the Automatic Shrimp Generator do exactly as the say, they produce 1 Rotten Flower, 1 Shrimp/50 sec, you can increase the amount with 1 Mysterious Junk, delivering more than 1 Mysterious Junk, at a time, doesn't increase the amount more, you just waste Mysterious Junk.
The Rotten Flower Purifier turns 1000 Rotten Flowers into 1 Flower Boquet.

Yoncy

Yoncy is a girl that is located in the Japanese style room, which is located if you enter the run down apartment and go through the only door.

Ability: "Soul Infusion"
Yoncy has a special ability where she turns you back to normal if you are transformed against your will.

1000 favoribility ability: "Change of appearance"
If you reach a favoribility of 1000 points with Yoncy she will now have a special ability, overwriting the "Soul Infusion" ability, called "Change of appearance", this ability allows you to change into random creatures all over the map. For example, you can be:

• A shrimp
  
• Legs
  
• A charis
  
• The hint shop penguin
  
• A rotten flower
  
• etc.

Behind Yoncy is going to be a new interactable box, with japanese characters above it.(If anyone knows what they mean, it would be nice if you could tell me.) If you click on the box a text box will appear where you will have to type in the name of a png. Then you will be asked to enter an actor, just type in 0 like the textbox says. Then you have two options "Gaining an Identity" and "Fixed orientation ON/OFF", the first option just lets you change into the identity you typed in, the second option turns character movement animation on or off.

How do I get the png names?
WARNING: THE FOLLOWING PROCESS COULD REVEAL SPOILERS FOR PURGO BOXES CHARACTERS, PLEASE PROCEED WITH CAUTION!
For that you have to go into the files of the game. Just do a right click on purgo box in your steam library, click on properties go to local data and open the folder. If you are now in the purgo box folder, click on the www folder, then go into the img folder, and then just open the characters folder. In this folder are all the chooseable characters, just copy the name of one of the characters, without the .png, paste it into the textbox asking you for a png name and your good to go. This obviously doesn't work for the skins for Moneko that you can earn throughout the game.

Koju

Koju is a girl left alone by her parents, she is living in her apartment that is slowly falling appart. She is located in the apartment that you can find if you just enter the apartment building.

Mechanic: Break
You can't give presents to Koju, however you can take a break with Koju. With every break her favoribility will increase. For every break she demands 1 Blue Soul, however if she reaches 100 favoribility you can take these breaks for free.
She is the best character, at the beginning, to get easy and good favoribility awards, because you don't really need any items and just a little bit of patience and time.

Ability: "Buy something"
Koju has a special ability where you can buy equipment, with prison currency, to boost your stats, these items are actually really important, there is a significance to them, so buy them if you have the money.

An alternative ability, the "Exchange" ability (I dont really remember the name anymore), can be unlocked if you invite her to your house, this house can be bought, for 10.000 prison currency, in the next city from the blue charis in the right-most screen. You also need a favoribility of 200 points with her.
WARNING: The ability to buy equipment will be gone, please buy the equipment before you invite her to your house in the next city! You could tell her to go back to her own house, unlocking the "Buy something" ability again, but then you will never have the "Exchange" ability again.

Ability: "Exchange"
Koju has a second ability where you can buy 4 different special items. These items can be exchanged for "Begging Points", these Begging Points can be gained by giving away Red Soul Generator and Boxes. Sadly I cant really give details on this ability because I have made the mistake and this ability is locked for me in this playthrough.

Other characters Part 1

There are many side characters that are worth mentioning, because your mission is not only to become friends with all the main characters, but you also have to "box" the many minor characters all across the world. I am going to refer to characters that you are able to box as "boxing characters" and those that you can't box simply as side or minor characters.

Green worm:
The green worm is propably the first boxing character that you will meet and are able to box in the game. The green worm grows Nuts in the forest area located left to the main hallway, where the entrance to Master Mu's room is located. You will steal his Nuts and give them back to him, raising his Favoribility with this action.

Red thing:
The red thing can be found if you go from the starting room to the left and down the alleyway. There you will find the red thing floating in a tank. It demands Red souls from the player.
The red thing is a boxing character.

! WATCH OUT !
If you reach a favoribility of 50 with it, you have to have a Speaking skill of 1 or greater.

Tell him: "I'll get you out one day." and you will receive a Blue Soul.

If you reach a favoribility of 100 with it, you will box it.

Boxing Reward: 3 Boxes

Nurse:
The nurse can be found in the reception room, the first room, of the hospital. The hospital is located on the left of the room with the green worm. She demands Meat from the player. The nurse is also a boxing character.

Where to get Meat from?
From the forest area go to the right, go through the first entrance. Follow the path to the right. You will find yourself on a field with an owl woman on it. Go through the entrance in the wall. In this room Meat will spawn in intervals.

Boxing Reward: 4 Blue souls

Doctor:
The doctor is located inside of the hospital. If you go through the hallway that is located at the wall of the reception room you will find him there.

The first time you meet the doctor, you will trigger an event where you have to go through some doors, inside of your body. (I dont know if any of the decisions make a difference) At the end of the event you get your first set of Pills.

Everytime you have taken all your Pills, you can go back to the doctor and trigger the event again.

If you pour out 100 Red souls, while getting new Pills, you can box the doctor.

! WATCH OUT !
If you box the doctor you can no longer get new sets of Pills from him.

Boxing Reward: 5 Boxes

Little guy:
Theres a little guy you have to find and talk to, in certain places, to box him.

Locations:

• The first time you will meet him is in front of the door to Riyonas room, after you get the her room key. To know where the location of her room is see Riyona.
  
• The second time you will meet him is in the reception room of the hospital. He is sitting on of the benches on the right to the room where the doctor resides. For the location of the doctor see Doctor.
  
• The third location is underwater where the hooks are, go to Riyonas room, go through the man hole and go into the water (You have to have the Water breathing suit. See Riyona). Just follow the path until you are in the room where you can fish.

Owl with a brain:
The owl with a brain can be found on top of the field. Next to the room where Meat spawns. See Nurse in Other characters. You will find it at the right of the screen right before the entrance to the shop room. It slowly fades in and out. It demands Red souls. The owl is a boxing character.

If you reach a favoribility of 100 with the owl, you will box it.

Boxing reward: 4 Boxes

Chisui fan:
There is a fan located on the field right before the room where Meat spawns. See Nurse in Other characters. He is very worried because he wants to see Chisui one last time. You have to show him The bromide of Chisui,
The item can be found in the room where Chisui performs her concert. It is in the right hand corner in front of the fan on the far right. The bromide can be see in the picture below.
Show him the bromide and he will disappear.

Boxing reward: 1 Blue soul and 1 Flower boquet

The mouse:
You can find the hole the mouse lives in right next to Master Mus room.

If you have a Speaking skill of 2 or greater and give her 10 cheese, tell her "I'll see you around". Then you will get 1 Blue soul.

The baby underwater
A friend of Master Mu can be found in the underwater section. Just go right where you can fish see Little guy in Other characters. He demands 100 Red souls.

Boxing reward: 3 Boxes and 1 Cloth of the soul

The fire spewing thing
This thing can be found, if you go down the man hole in Riyonas room, go right past the hint shop. It will stand at the end of the room.

The first time you will meet it, it will spew fire and you will be burned. You will be turned into one of thos wandering faces, that you can meet all around the world. Some people won't speak to you anymore because they don't like these faces. You can turn into your normal self with the box in Hakoyas room.

Woman with scissors
The woman can be found if you go through the door in the room where the Matchsticks are see Hakoya. After you have gone through the door, follow the path to the left and she will be at left side of the room. She demands 100 Red souls.

Alternative dialogue can be heard with Speaking skill>=3

Other characters Part 2

Shopkeeper
The shopkeeper can also be boxed.You just have to keep buying things from him. For the shopkeepers location see Master Mus third errand in Sidequests.

! WATCH OUT !
If you box the shopkeeper, buy enough things. This will happen after you gave him 3000 Red souls. The shopkeeper will disappear an he will no longer be able to sell you anything.

He will sell you certain things after you give him enough Red souls. You dont have to worry that you dont have enough Red souls to buy these special items. You can take a loan. So if you dont have enough Red souls to buy this item, your Red souls will go into the minus and you just have to gather enough to get out of debt again.

The glowing thing
The glowing thing is located, down the manhole in Riyonas room and then go left. It will be in the middle of the room. It demands garbage. I think you can feed it anything but the best thing would be Red souls.

Sidequests

Worm infestation quest:
Theres a young woman that is sick with a worm infestation.

Master Mus errands:
Master Mu wants you to do some errands for her.

• The first errand:
  You have to get 5 Nuts for her. You can find these in the forest. See Green Worm in Other characters for the exact location
  
  Reward: 10 Ropes
  
  
• The second errand:
  You have to get 20 Rotten Flowes for her. You can find these in the forest area. If you go through the gate in the forest, you will find yourself in the campfire area, now go to the left. You are now in the Rotten Flower Forest, follow the path to the left. There you will find a pathway where Rotten Flowers grow, there you can collect them.
  
  Reward: 1 Cheese
  
  
• The third errand:
  You have to get a Home frog for her. You can find these in the shop on the far east side. The shop is located on the right to the room where Meat spawns. See Nurse in Other characters. Now you are above the field, go right. Now you are at the shop, talk to the shopkeeper and buy the Home frog.
  
  Alternatively: Start from the forest area, go left. Go inside the hospital and go through the far left door. Let yourself get caught from the woman. Now go left until you reach a room with hands and a mouth in the ground. Go up the hands and jump in the mouth. Now go left through the door there a Home frog will spawn in intervals.
  
  Reward: 50 Red souls
  
  Prison access
  => If you finish the first 3 errands you will be granted access to the prison.
  
  
• The fourth errand:
  You have to box the Green worm in the forest area. To know where the location is and how to box him see Green worm in Other characters.
  
  Reward: 20 Ropes
  
  
• The fith errand:
  You have to gain favoribility with Riyona. To know where Riyona is and how to gain favoribility with her see Riyona.
  
  Reward: 1 Red soul generator
  
  Costume
  =>If you complete 5 errands you will get an item that turns you into a random sprite.
  
  
• The sixth errand:
  You have to get a Blue soul for her. You will receive a Blue soul, if you purify a Box at Hakoya or just by playing through the game see the red thing in Other characters for example.
  
  Reward: Memo Book (Here you can look at all your stats and items)
  This completes the last errand.

Plane parts:
A guy will ask you to go find some broken parts of his airplane.

Locations:

• One is located in the Rotten Flower Forest. See Master Mus second errand.
  
• One is located in the cell next to the big jail rat in the prison.
  
• One is located next to the water shopkeeper.
  
• One is located in the room with the two rows of doors. Go right from where you would go to go to the room where Home frogs spawn see Master Mus third errand.

The owl sisters reunion
2 owl sisters can be found in different locations of the world. The picture above shows the red owl sister. You have to talk to her first. She is located on the field right before the room where Meat spawns. See Nurse in Other characters.

I think you have to have a speaking skill of 1 or above.
Tell her "No more goodbyes" and you will be teleported. The other answer just quits the dialogue and you can speak with her again, you will get the same dialogue choices. After you are teleported talk to the huge doll. Now you have to find the blue owl sister.
You can find the blue owl sisters location when you go right from the forest area until you find yourself in a room with a big owl drawn on the wall. She will be standing on the right side of the room. Talk to her.

Tell her: "He gave me a good-bye." and you will be teleported. The other answer just quits the dialogue and you can speak with her again, you will get the same dialogue choices. After you are teleported again, talk to the huge doll another time. Talk to the red sister again.

You will be teleported again, talk once more to the huge doll. You will find yourself in the room with the the blue sister. Go back to the red owl sister talk to her and she will disappear.

Go to the blue owl sister a last time and you will get 1 Impure soul generator. She will also disappear.

This completes the reunion of the owl sisters.

The mother and her child
You can find a woman if you go right in the forest area and into the first entrance that looks like a brain. In this room go into the entrance right past the golden baby. There will be a floating head of a woman that is seemingly talking to her child. Her child seems to be this pink transparent skeleton opposite to her.

Use the knife on the skeleton and tell her "This one." Now you have killed her baby.
Now if you don't have it already get the cloth of the soul see The baby underwater in Other characters Part 1 and The skin of the doll see Woman with scissors in Other characters Part 1. Give these items to her. Now you have to give her 30 Blue souls.

Something will go wrong because of you. Choose to burn her. She and everything she owns will go up in flames. Where once was the cradel and everything else now lies the machines core on the ground. Its a little hard to see.

Now go right an you will find Part 1 of a simple teleporter right beside the table.

This completes The mother and her child.

The baby brothers reunion
There are 4 baby brothers around the world that drifted apart. Now it is your task to check up on all the other babys. To start the mission talk to this baby brother first:

Go to Riyonas room, down the manhole and go into the water, you need to have The oxygen suit see Riyona. You will find the baby in the first room afer going underwater. Talk to him and the quest will start.

The second baby is right in the next room:

Just go right and you will find the baby a little hidden behind one of the heads. Talk to him.

The third baby you have to find is the hardest:

To get to this location, go left in the forest area and go inside the hospital. After that leave the hospital through the exit on the far left side and get yourself caught by the woman in the corridor. Now you are in the blue hallway, go right and you will find yourself in a white hallway where babys are all up on the wall. Click the baby that is more golden than the others, talk to it.

The last baby is much easier to find:

Go right in the forest area, go into the entrance that looks like a brain. The baby is located left beside the entrance to the room with the mother. Talk to him.

Now go back to the first baby, talk to him and you will receive 10 Blue souls.

This completes the baby brothers reunion.

Mechanics

Throw away garbage
You can gain the ability to throw away garbage. Just gain access to the prison by doing Master Mus errands, see Master Mus errands in Sidequests. Then go to the room with the mouth in the ground, to find the location see Master Mus third errand in Sidequests. A bird prisoner will be standing in this room, simply talk to him and you will gain this ability.

Teleporting
Just give Hakako the Teleporter orbiter, how to get the Teleporter orbiter see shopkeeper in Other characters and how to know where Hakako is see Hakako.

The Teleporter costs 3 Red souls per teleport and you have to have been to the location at least once to teleport yourself to it.

If I remember correctly you have to talk to the worm infested girl. Then go to the receptionist in the hospital and talk to her. After that go back to the girl and talk to her.

Next go to the flower forest left to the huge soul bonfire. Go left until you reach a darker portion of the flower forest, there will be a huge black rectangle with a hand, talk to it and go back to the girl.

The last step I am not certain anymore, I think you have to go to the room with the cook in it. It is right to the room with the blue owl. See the owl sister reunion sidequest for this location. In this room there will be a guy beside the locked door, talk to him and go back to the girl.

The quest will be completed after that, please tell me if that worked.
