Introduction
Welcome to my first ever guide and my guide to MPAliens! The game is pretty fun and easy to play, but this guide is to help players understand things in the game.

Controls
The game allows you to use a controller or keyboard to play, and you can play on the same computer if played using both.

Keyboard

As this is my first guide, leave a comment if you liked/see some typos or inaccurate information and I will work on fixing it ASAP.

Let's give a little bit more information on the game before we get into all the things the game has to offer. MPAliens is a 2d platform horde style game where you fight waves of enemies to eventually fighting a boss. Each level has 5 waves of normal enemies before fighting the boss (with one exception, we will go over later). You do not need to beat every level in order, and can play them in whatever order you want.

HUD

A hud at the top shows you how much health you have left (as a percentage) and the amount of ammo you have left for your current weapon. Once the ammo is gone, the weapon is removed from your player and destroyed. With the start of each wave, your health will refill back to 100.

How each level works
Each level requires you to kill each enemy that is in the wave, and after 5 waves have been completed, the boss wave will start. Beating the boss will complete the level. If you die on one of the regular waves, you will have to replay the level from wave 1. But if you die on the boss wave, you can restart and start on the boss wave. When each wave starts or occasionally during waves, weapon crates will spawn and allow you to open it for a new weapon to use.

Weapon Crate

Weapon crates will open when walking over them, and the weapon will be picked up automatically if you do not have one already, or can be picked up by pressing B/L to drop your current weapon and walking over the it.
Weapons
Here is a list of each weapon, what type of ammo they fire, and any other information you may need to know to use it effectively.

Uzi

This weapons has automatic fire, and will continuously fire until you are out of ammo, but does less damage the Auto Rifle and Cz.

Shotgun

This weapon shoots 3 bullets out in a cone in front of the player, each on is in a 45 degree arc from the gun. Can be pretty effective up close where more bullets hit the enemy.

Autoshotgun

Just like the shotgun, but can shoot like an automatic weapon.

Grenade Launcher Type A

This weapon lobs grenades at the enemies, either causing an explosion on a direct impact, or exploding after a few seconds on the ground. Can be useful when aiming near multiple enemies as the blast will damage nearby enemies (and yourself).

Grenade Launcher Type B

I have found no difference between the Type A and Type B grenade launcher, and can be used interchangeably with one another.

Sniper Rifle

A single fire weapon, but is very strong and can kill most enemies in one shot, but it is a little slow to fire again.

Minigun

An automatic weapon that has a high rate of fire, at the cost of a slower speed up. Still has the bullet spread seen in the other automatic weapons.

Railgun

A laser weapon that can hit multiple enemies in a row. Only shoots in a straight line, and is not a strong as the Lasergun.

Lasergun

Exactly like the Railgun, but more powerful.

RPG

Fires a rocket in a straight line and causes an explosion when hitting a wall or an enemy. Can damage multiple enemies if they are close enough.

Auto Rifle

This weapons has automatic fire, and will continuously fire until you are out of ammo, but does more damage than the Uzi and the Cz. Can be useful on enemies with bigger hitboxes.

Plasma Gun

An automatic weapon that fires blue plasma balls, and has a similar bullet spread to other automatic weapons.

Pistol

A single shot weapon that shoots in a straight line and does decent damage.

Laser Pistol

A single shot weapon that shoots in a straight line and does decent damage.

Revolver

A single shot weapon just like the pistol, but does more damage. Can kill most enemies in one shot.

Cz

An Automatic weapon that shoots similar to other automatic weapons. Does more damage than the Uzi, but not as much as the Auto Rifle.

Knife

Your starting weapon, and what you will use if you have no weapon. Short range, and does a small bit of damage.
Game Modes
There are 2 major types of game modes: Versus and Adventure.

Adventure
Adventure is the main style of play but allowing you to play with up to 3 other people through the waves and boss together. Once a player dies, the others will continue to play until they beat the wave, or until they are all killed. This mode allows you to select which level you want to play through, and at which difficulty. There are 2 difficulty modes in Adventure: Normal and Hardcore. Hardcore give enemies and bosses more health, and give bosses more attack to use. You can switch between the modes by Pressing X/K.

Versus
Versus is the game mode which lets you fight your friends in one of the level chosen at random. The same gameplay applies, but no enemies will spawn. Each round will increase your Capsule, and when a capsule is full, the game is over and the player with the full capsule wins.
Levels
This is a list of each level and what things are in the level to help you be able to beat the level. The next section will go over the enemies and how to defeat them. You can climb walls if you press the direction against the wall and press A/J. To go down a platform, you can press down on the d-pad/S.

Station
This level is usually the first one you will play as the level select is already on this map when first starting Adventure. Here is a description of each of the numbered parts of the level from the image:
  1. Laser buttons: standing on these buttons will continuously shoot out a laser on the opposite side of the map (I.E: standing on the right button will fire the laser on the left side). These can also hurt players if they go through it while it is active.
  2. Weapon crate spawns: The weapon crates will spawn in these locations at the start of the wave, or during the wave.
  3. Teleporters: These will teleport you back to the middle of the center platform, but facing the way you entered at the bottom.
  4. Jump Pads: Allows you to jump higher if you walk over it in the direction you are going.

Lava Cave

This level is the first one to have areas what you can die which is the lava along the bottom. A description of each number on the image:
  1. Weapon crate spawns: The weapon crates will spawn in these locations at the start of the wave, or during the wave.
  2. Jump Pads: Allows you to jump higher if you walk over it in the direction you are going.
  3. Teleporters: Unlike the ones in Station, these are only for the enemies that fall into the lava. But when they do that, they come back red and will explode when killed.

House

This level is the most basic in terms of things used. The walls on the house can help against the boss, or some of the enemies that are outside (but not the ghosts).
  1. Weapon Crate spawners. The upper one will drop the weapon below/

Skull

This level is similar to Station, but also has some death areas in the center, and right under the lower weapon spawn.
  1. Weapon crate spawns: The weapon crates will spawn in these locations at the start of the wave, or during the wave. BEWARE THE SPIKES THAT WILL SPAWN ON THE BOTTOM SPAWN.
  2. Death Spikes: You will die if you touch these and have to restart the waves (if not on boss wave).
  3. Jump Pads: Allows you to jump higher if you walk over it in the direction you are going.

Nebula

This level is only a boss wave, and will be completed once you do enough damage to the ship. Taking out the different weapons can help Survivability. All weapons are damageable. YOU CAN FALL OFF THE SIDES AND DIE.
  1. Bullet Turrets: Will shoot bullets are you, and can be dodged easily because the bullet only goes in a straight line.
  2. Laserbeam: This weapon will fire a laser beam from one direction to the other, and you will take damage the longer you are touching the laser. Can be avoided by hiding under platforms (as shown in the image)
  3. Rocket Launcher: These will fire rockets up to the top of the map, and drop them straight down, and can be seen where the rockets will fall by a purple light shining down to where it will land.
  4. Ship Bulbs: Not sure about the name as they don't attack the player, but can be damaged and will count towards the total damage done to the ship.
  5. Meteors: These will fall at an angle from the top, and contain a weapon inside them. Can damage the player, and can be avoided similar to the laser, or moving away from where they are/will land.
  6. Jump Pads: Allows you to jump higher if you walk over it in the direction you are going.
  7. Weapon crate spawns: The weapon crates will spawn in these locations at the start of the wave, or during the wave.
Enemies
Here is a list of each enemy and a way you can avoid their attacks and kill them.

Station
  • Bot

Doesn't attack, but will come towards the player and cause damage when touching or will explode when killed.
  • Flybot

Will fly around the map in a random direction until it touches a wall or floor. Will shoot the player when facing them, but not if they are facing away.
  • Turret

Will stand still where it lands after spawning, but will shoot a bullet in a straight line on both side of it.
  • Cleaner

Will not attack the player, and will just move back and forth on the floor is lands on. Will only damage the player if the player walks into them.

Lava Cave
  • Boulder

Big enemy that will walk towards the player and cause a lot of damage if they touch the player. Will become the Red Boulder if he falls in the lava, making him explode when he dies.
  • Stone

Smaller enemy that is exactly like Boulder, but does less damage when touching the player.

House
  • Skeleton

Will only walk back and forth on the floor it lands on, and will only shoot a green ball straight if it sees the player in their direction.
  • Ghost

Will float through the walls and floor to go right to the player. Will shoot a green ball at the player when they are close enough.
  • Claw

Similar to Ghost that can go through the walls and floors, but will disappear and reappear near the player and make a dash to hit the player.

Skull
  • Imp

Will walk back and forth on the floor it lands on, and will shoot a fireball at the player when it sees them, and can fire in any direction. Fireballs will stop when hitting a wall or floor.
  • Eye

Will walk back and forth on the floor it lands on, and will shoot a laser beam in the direction of the player when it sees the player.
  • Demon

Will float around in a random direction and will stop and change directions. Will shoot a purple ball at the player in any direction when seen. The ball will stop once it hits a wall or floor.
Bosses
This section will go over the attacks each boss will do and how to beat them. I will mark a difference in attack they will do based on difficulty used.

Station
Flying Robot

This boss will fly around the map and change it's direction when it wants. It will fire orange balls in every direction around it. The left, center, and right can take damage by the player, and will show damage as the player deals more damage. After doing enough damage, the robot will fly and die.
Hardcore: A missile barrage that targets the player will be an added attack. The missiles will change direction towards the player until the hit the player or a wall/floor.

Lava Cave
Giant Worm

The Giant Worm will start the fight by coming at the player from the bottom. It ignores all walls and floors and will attack at any angle. Once a section of the worm has taken enough damage, it will be destroyed, but the rest of the pieces will still continue to attack the player, and not fill in the missing sections. The battle is over when every section is destroyed.
Hardcore: No noticeable difference between the fights in hardcore mode.

House
Death and Scythe

This fight will have you fighting two pieces of the same boss. Death will send out the scythe to spin in straight horizontal lines regardless of where the player is. Death will move around the outside of the house and necro rain from the sky and necro trails along the ground that will hurt the player. The scythe can be destroyed separate from Death, and he will continue his same attacks.
Hardcore: No noticeable difference between the fights in hardcore mode.

Skull
Lord of Demons

This fight has two phases, the demon form and then the skull form. Both forms will have orange balls floating around him moving in a counter-clockwise direction. These can damage the player if touched, and will be destroyed if the player does enough damage to them.
First form:The first form will float around and will shoot a fireball in the direction of the player if he sees the player. Doing enough damage to him will make him change into the second form.
Second form: The Second form will float around and charge the player from time to time. If the lord hits a wall or floor during the charge, it will cause more damage to him. He will show cracks in the skull when he takes enough damage. Avoid his attacks and continue to damage him until he is defeated.

Nebula
The Ship

This fight will start once the level starts. There are several weapons attached to the ship (as described in the Levels section). Damaging these parts will also damage the ship. Each weapon can be destroyed on it's own making the fight slightly easier. Do enough damage or destroy enough weapons on the ship while avoiding the weapon attacks to finish the battle.

Missable Achievements
How did you do this!?

Land on the platforms at the top of the Lava Cave level. The best way to do this is to get a grenade launcher or other explosive ammo weapon, fire it at the enemies coming down from the teleporters and be close enough to be knocked back. If done right, you will land on the platforms on the top of the level, and unlocking this mysterious achievement.
