Hotkey Tips
Hotkeys
  • Use Hotkeys!!! (Ctrl + 1 - 10 on keyboard to assign selected buildings or units to the numbered keys on the keyboard).

    The Hotkeys I use are
Ctrl + 1 = Command Station (Select the Command Station and press Ctrl + 1 to set your Command Station to the number key “1”. So when you press 1 on your keyboard it selects your Command Station.

    A. Once the “1” control group is selected (pressed) you can type R and click with your mouse where you want the Command Station to send workers (set the Rally Point). You can set the Rally Point to a resource asteroid to have your workers start mining immediately!

You can also click the Command Station to open the building window and click the Rally Point icon in the building window of the Command Station and then right click where you want to set the station’s Rally Point.

    B. You can have multiple buildings under the same hotkey. When you build a second Command Station, you can have both of your Command Stations be in the same “1” control group. Once the first Command Station is selected press the “Shift” key and click the new Command Station with your mouse. At this point the user interface window should show both Command Stations being selected. At this point, you press Ctrl + 1 to have both of these Command Stations accessible under the “1” control group.

Ctrl + 2 = Ship Factory (once you have two Ship Factories, press “2” and Shift + Click the second Ship Factory so both Ship Factories are selected on the screen then click Ctrl +2 to have both of the Ship Factories under the “2” control group.

    Ctrl + 3 = Merchant Port
    Ctrl + 4 = Dockyard
Ctrl + 10 = Research Center = I like to keep my unit upgrade hotkeys separate from my unit production hotkeys.

  • You can learn unit “Letter” shortcuts to build units faster, build buildings faster, or use spells faster where you don’t have to click the icons. UNF Trinity shortcut for the Flechette Missile ability is “E”. The Command Station shortcut to build workers is “E”. And the Ship Factory shortcut to build Hurricanes is “N”.
Tips, Tricks, and ... Secrets (shhhhhh)
RTS General
  • You can first click and drag to your mouse to select multiple units. If you want to select a subset of the units you selected (select all fighters or all workers). Press the Ctrl key and click the unit portrait of a unit you want to select.

  • Save Your Game after you set up a base or before you attack an enemy fleet or base. Also use multiple save files so you can go back two saves (you never know how bad it will get!). The game also has two autosave files that generate every five minutes you can load if needed.

  • When you have a group of ships selected press “S” to stop the group of ships from moving so they can auto attack ships and mines sooner. You can also click the stop icon in the army window to stop your ships.

  • Set Rally Points(R) – When production building(s) are selected click “R” or click the flag button in the building window and click with your mouse where you want the built ships to be sent. If the ships are close to where you want them, it gives you more time to do other stuff and can help you position your fleet effectively.
Game General
  • If you set up a new base for mining asteroids. You can press F1 to select an idle worker and right click that worker towards a Resource Asteroid in that base to have them move there (if you select miners to go to a resource asteroid they will start mining immediately!).

  • To improve your early mission economy start missions mining Metal Asteroids so you can build more workers. Ideally you will have more than 8 workers mining mental and workers mining Helium-3 so you can research Extraction Operations as soon as possible at your Mining Station. Extraction Operations costs 200 Metal and 200 Helium-3. If you have more than 12 workers on a resource asteroid patch you will need to build additional freighters to pick up the resources or research upgrades at the Resource Stations to move more resources.

  • Build two base ship production buildings (the earlier the better).

  • Use static defense buildings in generous numbers and in good positions (to protect your resources and base entrances).

  • Buildings in front can absorb incoming fire against buildings and units behind them. So you can build Supply Silos and other buildings in front of your Barricade Satellite or KEIKO Sentries to soak up some enemy fire and hold out longer.

  • Arsons and siege ships are more effective when they are behind their own buildings. The buildings block incoming fire. So if an enemy Arson is behind a building, just move your ships so you have a line of sight with the enemy Arson and the building won’t block your weapon’s fire. This also means your siege units have more defense when placed behind your buildings because the buildings block incoming fire.

  • Use your heroes and protect your heroes, if a hero dies you have to restart the mission!

  • Don’t take too long to raid enemy bases as they can send stronger waves over time and the mission could become more difficult the longer you wait.

  • Your bases are vulnerable when your ships are attacking and not defending. You want to scout enemy positions and look for additional resource asteroids with fighters. Many times you will have your fleet in a big ball. Scouting with fighters will help you make better decisions of where and when to send out your main big fleet from your base.

  • Your fighter ships attack in swooping attack patterns, you can micro them so their flight area stays in front of their target by switching off between:

    a. Clicking the target to attack
    b. And right clicking an area in front of the target. This will have the ships fly to the front of
    the target.

  • This will make sure they don’t complete the circle loop and fly behind their targets. This will help them not fly in range of defending enemy ships when they are attacking a structure if needed.

  • If a ship or other defensive building is behind a supply building just fly behind it and then select attack on the defensive building like a Barricade Satellite. This way less of your shots will be blocked by the Supply Silo.

  • If your carrier is about to blow up the fighters become vulnerable like units on a transport. So if things get dicey you need to eject any docked units by pressing the small fighter graphics in the carrier unit window, the Undock icon in the unit Window, or you can also press the undock shortcut key U on your keyboard so all the fighters leave the carrier and don’t get blow up when the carrier explodes. Also cancel any fighters in production in a carrier that’s about to blow up, the resources don’t get refunded if the carrier explodes.

  • If you have damaged fighters you can put them in a carrier and the carrier will heal them. Playing a Federation this will save some of your Pasture energy so you can use that energy to heal other stuff.

  • When you attack enemy bases.
    A. First Focus on luring out defensive ships and destroy them.
    B. If there are other ships still in the base, focus on destroying the siege ships: Arsons(Sylon),
    Teller (Federation), Harbinger(Athrael), Havoc (Thorun).
    C. Then destroy the defensive structures.

You can just slam into enemy bases, but you will lose more ships.

  • When dealing with a large group of enemy ships, try to divert some of the enemy ships away from the main fleet by entering the vision of some of the enemy ships. It is easier to beat two smaller fleets than one large one. If the enemy ships are in your base you can also divert some of them away from your base so you can have time to make more ships. Same for enemy ships located by a deployed siege ship like a Sylon Arson or an Athrael Rector. Moving away or falling back will help you split the ships and maybe catch the siege ship in an undeployed status.

  • Use strategic retreats, ships with follow you if you are in their vision. This will allow you to do convert ambushes or ship ambushes.

  • Cheat codes can be found at https://five-nations.fandom.com/wiki/Console_commands

  • When you attack enemy bases with capitol ships, make sure they have fighter support and repair support as their Anti-fighter weapons might not be that strong.

  • You can save a mission and then quit mission and it will tell you the game time. This can help you work on mission timing for attacks and rushes.

  • In some campaign missions you can destroy high tier buildings and the computer won’t rebuild them so you stop them from making higher tier ships the rest of the game. There is a mission in Chapter 3 where if you destroy the Fleet HQ, that Federation player won’t be able to build Avengers or Tellers and they are much easier to beat then.

  • You can use big ships such as Argas, Kutuzov, Installator, or Gatherings as blockers for ranged ships behind them. They are very wide ships so they will block some income fire launched at the ships behind them.

  • Micro badly damaged ships to the back to be healed. Enemy ships will sometimes over target damaged enemy ships or Hero ships. You can use fast damaged ships as bait for enemy ships to pursue.
Faction Tips
Attacking Sylon Tips
  • Careful when attacking Sylons their Aegis defensive buildings and Glooms have Gravimetric ray weapons that ignore shields.

  • Sylons have multiple vessels with cloak so when fighting them you need defensive buildings with sensors or ships with sensors.

  • Arsons can melt Orcas and Hurricanes and it is better to attack them with bigger ships like Hailstorms. You can attack Arsons with your Orcas, just have the Orcas attack them from different angles so the Arson splash attack doesn’t hit them all.
Attacking Thorun Tips
  • When attacking Thorun with fighters, you need to be careful when attacking Zoners, Vanguards, Grinders, Flagships and Breakers. When those ships explode their Anti Matter Reactors detonate and can damage or destroy your fighters in the area. If possible have a different ship do the kill shot or have one fighter do the kill shot in the case of Zoners so you only lose one fighter max.
Thorun Tips
  • Grinders can only attack buildings, however their weapons don’t get blocked by buildings so you can target defensive structures even if there are buildings in front of it.
Attacking Federation Tips
  • Be careful when Fusion Reactors explode, the structure’s explosion damages ships within a small range. So you don’t want your fighters flying around the enemy Fusion Reactor when it is about to blow up. Only have one fighter do the kill shot or use a ship with a long range to destroy the building.
Zhogarn Tips
  • Instead of flying a slow Argas to a new base, you can just move a Spawn there and build the Argas at the new base from the Spawn.

Campaign Chapter 1: Hostile Visitors (Intro)
You are thrown into a story where the Federation has ships deployed at the outer edge of their space in the Caribou Sector. The research stations in the Caribou Sector have discovered something that has gotten the attention of multiple hostile forces and sets into motion sweeping events that will change diplomacy and peace in the Caribou sector. You command Captain Colburne and his Federation Fleet as they try to survive everything that comes their way.
Part 1: Distress Call

Thank you to TaxOwlbear for posting good playthroughs on YouTube. The link to his YouTube Channel is https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdNkCKi92i6NsiyxEUgVX1g

Mission Objectives:
-Relieve the UX22 station
-UNF Trinity must survive
-Defend the UX22

Difficulty: 2/5

Steam Achievement Task: Create a squadron of 18 Hurricanes in Chapter 1 Mission 1 - "Distress Call".
  • In this mission you come across the UX22 research structure array. As with previous RTS games, once your units clear out the hostile ships you will begin to produce workers (Engineer Shuttles) at your Command Station and build up your base.

  • Waves of enemies will attack your base trying to destroy it. You want to build at least seven workers during the mission so you have money to build a Barricade Satellite or Barricade Sat. to help defend against incoming enemy fighters and gunboats.

  • Your hero unit the UNF Trinity has the Flechette Missile ability. Using that ability on the incoming ships will help you beat the mission, you also have enough energy to use the ability all you want. Be careful to not blow up your own ships or buildings with the Flechette Missile ability.

Hints: Use the UNF Trinity Vessel Flechette Missile ability which can destroy most of your enemy problems. Mine metal asteroids to build Barricade Sat. to defend base and workers.
Part 2: The Cavalry has Arrived

Thank you to TaxOwlbear for posting good playthroughs on YouTube. The link to his YouTube Channel is https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdNkCKi92i6NsiyxEUgVX1g

Objectives:
-Destroy enemy Fusion Reactors
-Take back the UX22A and UX22B stations
-UNF Trinity must survive
-Eliminate Black Swan forces

Difficulty: 2/5

Steam Achievement Task: Destroy a Fusion Reactor without destroying any of the KEIKO Sentries in Chapter 1 Mission 2 - "The Cavalry has Arrived".
  • In this mission you start with an army and must clear out the enemies in base UX22A. Once you destroy the Fusion Reactor at UX22A the enemy KIEKO Sentries should shut down. Be careful when Fusion Reactors explode, the structure’s explosion damages ships within a small range. So you don’t want your hurricanes flying around the enemy Fusion Reactor when it is about to blow up. Only have one fighter do the kill shot or use a ship with a long range to destroy the building.

  • Put almost all of your workers on Metal Asteroids at the start to get more metal to build more workers. You want about seven workers on metal before you decide to build a Barricade Sat. or a Mining station for Helium-3. Eventually you will want to research Extraction Operations at the Mining Station which costs 200 metal and 200 Helium-3.

  • Waves of enemies will attack your base trying to destroy it. Build Barricade Sat. to help defend against incoming fighters and gunboats. Your UNF Trinity Vessel can use the Flechette Missile ability and the ships shields can absorb damage. You can also use EMP burst on enemy gunboats if they are too close to your structures. Be careful to not blow up your own ships or buildings with the Flechette Missile ability.

  • Once you have researched Extraction Operations you can start to build Orcas and a second Ship Factory.

  • Once your base is up and going you will want to Save Your Game and send out an attack against the enemy. Your base is vulnerable when your ships out are attacking and not at home defending. You want to scout enemy positions and resource asteroids with fighters. Many times you will have your fleet in a big ball. Scouting with Hurricane fighters will help you make better decisions of where and when to send out your main big fleet from your base.
Hints: Use the UNF Trinity Vessel Flechette Missile ability which can destroy enemy waves that come in. In this mission you will be attacking multiple Keiko Sentries whose powerful weapons can’t target Hurricane fighters and can also be shut down momentarily by casting EMP burst from the UNF Trinity Vessel.
Part 3: Bear Rock

Thank you to TaxOwlbear for posting good playthroughs on YouTube. The link to his YouTube Channel is https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdNkCKi92i6NsiyxEUgVX1g

Objectives:
-Go to Bear Rock Asteroid
-UNF Trinity must survive

Difficulty: 2/5

Steam Achievement Task: One Pasteur unit must survive the Chapter 1 Mission 3 - "Bear Rock".
  • In this mission you start with an army and move across the map to the Bear Rock asteroid. Use the UNF Trinity Flechette Missile ability to destroy ship attack groups you come across and your other ships can do the rest. Use your Pasteur ship to heal damaged ships. At the end you will fight a strong capital ship.

  • Right before you fight the end ship in the top right base, you can destroy some small asteroids to the right of the bottom opening of the top right enemy base to reveal an alcove an get access to some new ships.

  • Use the UNF Trinity EMP Burst Ability on the big capital ship at the end. Make sure your UNF Trinity has enough energy before you start the end battle!
Hints: Use the UNF Trinity Vessel Flechette Missile ability to destroy ship attack groups you come across. Use UNF Trinity to absorb damage of enemy ships and then have the ship healed by your Pasteurs. Protect your Pasteur ship. Use the UNF Trinity Vessel EMP Burst Ability on the big capital ship at the end.

Part 4: Point Custer
Thank you to TaxOwlbear for posting good playthroughs on YouTube. The link to his YouTube Channel is https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdNkCKi92i6NsiyxEUgVX1g

Objectives:
-Eliminate all alien presence
-UNF Trinity must survive

Difficulty: 3/5

Steam Achievement Task: Find all units willing to join you in Chapter 1 Mission 4 - "Point Custer".
  • In this mission you start with an army and take control of a small base. You will begin to produce workers and Hurricanes. Your initial base does not have much metal in the local resource asteroids (5 will fully saturate your mineral patches).
  • Build a Mining Station to the right of your base by a ship graveyard which can be mined for resources. Protect the new Mining Station with your ships. Since new resource locations might be far away from your command station you will need to build extra Icarus (freighter ships) to get the resources from your mining station back to your command center.

  • You might need to save your game every five minutes as it’s hard to manage everything going on! Enemies love to target your vulnerable Pasteur ships and undefended buildings. The game also generates two autosave files every five minutes you can load if needed.

  • You will need to defend against incoming raids using your UNF Trinity (Flechette Missile ability), fleet, and Pasteur ship to heal. It is hard to know when the waves will come and where they will attack from. Once your income is pumping and you are surviving raids destroy the southern enemy bases (UNF Trinity Flechette Missile ability helps).

  • Once your second Mining Station is up and running you want to build a Research Center so you can build Orcas at the Ship Factory and save up Helium-3 to build a Merchantport to build a Kutuzov.

  • Scout your area with Hurricanes to find enemy positions and units willing to join you.

  • Eventually when you go South enough you will find Federation buildings next to large resource patches which you can liberate and take control of when you touch them.

  • The Kutuzov can turn into a new Command Station. You will want to build the second Command Station by the buildings you liberated in the south with the large resource asteroids. It’s usually better to build the Command Station slightly south west of the center of your base to create a buffer area between the Command Station and your miners, so enemy ships will have to destroy your command center before they can attack your workers. But you want your second Command Station built close enough to the center of your base where you are still able to make defensive buildings by your miners. You can build Barricade Sats. and KEIKO Sentrys to defend your workers in the area of a Command Station.

  • Once your Southern base is built up you will still need to defend against raids. But you can begin to build up your fleet large enough for an attack on the enemy base. Use the UNF Trinity Flechette Missile ability to start any engagement as it will damage their ships and explode safely away from your ships.

  • Buy all the ship upgrades at the Research Center to strengthen your ships versus the enemy.

Hints: Use the UNF Trinity Vessel Flechette Missile ability which can destroy enemy waves that come in. Defending your Pasteur(s) and manage your healing of ships to save metal. You can raid the enemy base with your Trinity and test out the enemy resistance with the Flechette Missile.

Part 5: Convoys to Salvation
Thank you to TaxOwlbear for posting good playthroughs on YouTube. The link to his YouTube Channel is https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdNkCKi92i6NsiyxEUgVX1g

Objectives:
-Protect the Bifrost Gate
-Protect the Fusion Reactors
-UNF Trinity and UNF Ulysses must survive
-Escort the four Cormorans to the Bifrost Gate

Difficulty: 2/5 (Very Hard on Hard)

Steam Achievement Task: Create a fleet of 10 Hailstorms in Chapter 1 Mission 5 - "Convoys to Salvation".
  • You start with an army and a base. In this mission you need to build up your economy and destroy enemy outposts that are in the path of the ships you need to escort. Your focus should be to pump out workers. Put almost all of your workers on metal at the start to get more metal to build more workers. At the four-minute mark you could have 10 workers on metal and 7 on helium (17 workers total) and researching Extraction Operations at the Mining Station which costs 200 metal and 200 Helium-3. You might need extra Icarus Freighters to transport your resources This will give you a strong base economy to build ships.

  • You need that strong economy to support your heroes who will be trying to damage and clear out the enemy defensive structures that are in the path of the ships you’re trying to escort. UNF Ulysses and UNF Trinity (Flechette Missile) and a couple Orcas will help you raid close enemy bases. The UNF Trinity EMP Burst Ability is very useful and can immobilize a defensive building or Arson unit.

  • You might need to save your game every five minutes as it’s hard to manage everything going on! Enemies love to target your vulnerable Pasteur ships and undefended buildings. The game also has two autosave files that generate every five minutes you can load if needed.

  • Once you start researching Extraction Operations you want to build an Astro Telescope (so you can build Hailstorms) build a second ship factory, and build Pasteurs out of the Merchantport.

  • The first convoy you need to protect will appear in the bottom right. Your army should have cleared out most of the mines and enemies before the convoy shows up. Hailstorms have sensors that let them see mines.

  • Once the first convoy survives past the threats or before you can build a second base in the bottom right where the resources are with a Kutuzov (builds out of Merchantport) to build a second base (Command Station). You can only build defensive structures in the area of a Command Station add some defensive structures to your second base and leave a couple ships.

  • The second convoy you need to protect will appear in the bottom left. You need to be able to manage your economy, ship building (you should have two Ship factories or more), fleet repair, and enemy base raiding in the path the escort ships take.

  • The last two convoys will appear on both sides at the same time. This won’t be as difficult as difficult as long as you did a good job defending the first two convoys. And have a second base in the bottom right.
Hints: Use the UNF Trinity Vessel Flechette Missile ability which can destroy enemy groups. The UNF Trinity EMP Burst Ability is very useful and can immobilize a defensive building or Arson unit. Build lots of workers and build Extraction Operations at the mining station early. You might need extra Icarus Freighters to transport your resources. Manage your healing of ships to save metal. Upgrade your weapons and ship range at the research center. When you have a group of ships selected with the mouse if you click S that will have them stop moving so they can auto attack ships and mines better.
Part 6: The Bargain
Thank you to TaxOwlbear for posting good playthroughs on YouTube. The link to his YouTube Channel is https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdNkCKi92i6NsiyxEUgVX1g

Objectives:
-Escort your survivors to the Jumpgate
-UNF Trinity and UNF Ulysses must survive

Difficulty: 3/5

Steam Achievement Task: Beat the Chapter 1 Mission 6 - "The Bargain" in 15 minutes.
  • In this mission you start with an army and navigate across the map to the Jumpgate. You will come across some Black Swan forces who are your allies in this mission.

  • Use the UNF Trinity Vessel Flechette Missile ability to destroy or damage enemy ship groups you come across. The UNF Trinity EMP Burst Ability is very useful and can immobilize a defensive building or Arson unit. The Joseon also has an EMP Strike ability you can use to immobilize a defensive building or Arson unit. Have your Trinity ship move along with your Hailstorm and UNF Ulysses. You usually want to target the Sylon Arson (enemy long range siege ships first). Use your Pasteur ship to heal damaged ships and protect your Pasteurs.

  • Make sure to save your game once you pass an enemy line or two as things can go south fast. The game also has two autosave files that generate every five minutes you can load if needed.

  • There is a lot of good tip toeing you will do in this mission with your big ships to attack enemy positions and retreat and draw them towards you(Mongolian feigned flight). The enemy Arsons can wreak havoc on clumps of your ships, so make sure to take them out with your big guns first. Scout your area to find enemy positions and units that are willing to join you.

  • When you reach the Black Swan base you can find extra resources by crossing the nearby Nebula Fogs and liberating three Icarus’ and then bring them back to your base to get the resources. You should spend your resources on ship upgrades at the research center, and if you have extra money after you buy the ships upgrades, you can buy a Khan ship.

  • Hints: Use the UNF Trinity Vessel Flechette Missile ability which can destroy enemy groups and damage building shields. Have your Pasteur heal your ships.

[Hints: Use the UNF Trinity Vessel Flechette Missile ability which can destroy enemy groups and damage building shields. The EMP Burst Ability from the UNF Trinity is very useful and can immobilize a defensive building or unit. Have your Pasteur heal your ships.

Part 7: Siege Breakers
Thank you to TaxOwlbear for posting good playthroughs on YouTube. The link to his YouTube Channel is https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdNkCKi92i6NsiyxEUgVX1g

Objectives:
-Eliminate the Sylon Installation Primes (2)
-UNF Trinity and UNF Ulysses must survive
-UNF October must Survive

Difficulty: 4/5

Steam Achievement Task: Deploy a new Command Station in Chapter 1 Mission 7 - "Siege Breakers".
  • You start with an army and a base. In this mission you need to build up your economy, build up defenses, and start attacking the close Sylon base. Your first focus should be to pump out workers. Put almost all of your workers on metal at the start to get more metal to build more workers.Once you have 7 or 8 workers on metal start mining Helium-3 to research Extraction Operations at the Mining Station which costs 200 metal and 200 Helium-3.

  • Your base will be raided on both sides of your resource asteroids and on the bottom left side of your base so start building static defenses in those areas.

  • There’s lot of stuff you need to build in this mission. You need to build a Medical Station to build Pasteurs and an Astro Telescope to build Hailstorms. And You need to build ships, workers, and defenses and build a second Shift Factory to build ships faster.

  • Make sure to Save your game once you pass an enemy line or two as things can go south fast. The game also has two autosave files that generate every five minutes you can load if needed.

  • Use your the UNF Trinity Vessel and the Flechette Missile ability along with other ships to damage enemy positions. You usually want to target the Sylon Arson (enemy long range siege ships) first.
  • The Kutuzov can turn into a new Command Station. You will want to build the second Command Station just to the left of your base by the metal and tachyon resource asteroids. This will allow you to build defensive buildings closer to the enemy base, gain more control of common shipping lanes, and make it easier to protect those outside minerals.

  • There is a third area you can mine metal at the start just to the left of your base past the Stellar clouds in an asteroid alcove. Build a mining station there. You can’t use a Kutuzov to build a Command Station in there because there isn’t room so can only build a mining station and build Icarus freighters to bring the resources home. Since you can’t build defensive building there by the metal resource asteroids in the alcove just have some Orcas, Hurricanes, and a Pasteur defend your metal mining area in the asteroid alcove.

  • In this map you will almost always have more than 15 workers mining metal.

  • Start Pumping out Orcas, Hailstorms, Pasteurs, and ship upgrades at the Research Center and range upgrades for your Hailstorms at the Astro Telescope and Orca range upgrades at the Research Center. Hailstorms can’t attack fighter ships so make sure your hailstorms have support.

  • If you have lots of extra metal just pump out a bunch of hurricanes. If you have your hotkeys set for your Ship Factories and Ship Factory Rally point set up, it’s no effort to pump hurricanes.

  • Push through and destroy enemy bases, focus first on luring out defensive ships and destroy them, then destroy the arsons, then destroy the defensive structures.

Hints: Use the UNF Trinity Vessel Flechette Missile ability which can destroy enemies waves that come in. Save the game before you raid enemy territories, the enemies will target your heros and Pasteurs. Manage the healing of your ships to save metal. You need to attack the first Sylon reasonably fast. In Five Nations, the enemy tends to be able to build big waves of ships to send to your base if you give them too much time.
Part 8: Operation Guagamela

Thank you to TaxOwlbear for posting good playthroughs on YouTube. The link to his YouTube Channel is https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdNkCKi92i6NsiyxEUgVX1g

Objectives:
-Defend your lines
-UNF Trinity and UNF Ulysses must survive

Difficulty: 5/5

Steam Achievement Task: Kill at least 20 units with Nuclear Missiles in Chapter 1 Mission 8 - "Operation Gaugamela".
  • Have your workers start mining metal. Start building hurricanes out of the ship factory.

  • Group all your ships together leave what you want in the base. Bring your Pasteurs but also protect your Pasteurs and keep them closer to the back. Put all the your Hurricanes in the Carrier.
  • First Wave – The First Wave will arrive between the middle and left bottom base. You want to meet the enemy fleet just behind your buildings. Have your Pastures there but keep them out of the action. Make sure you have your Avenger Battleships and St. George Carrier there.

  • Make sure to Save your game once you finish an enemy wave. The game also has two autosave files that generate every five minutes you can load if needed. You can lose a Pasteur and still win. If you lose both Pasteurs the mission is harder.

  • Second Wave will arrive under the bottom right base. Move your army to meet it, stay out of range of the Arsons. You don’t need to beat this army fast so take your time with the Arsons and the Arsons might attack a few buildings. Have select ships attack and retreat to beat the arsons.

  • Third wave will arrive South of the bottom left base. This wave will have more cloaked units so you want to manage your Hailstorms more since they have the sensor ability to detect cloaked units. Use the UNF Trinity Vessel EMP Burst Ability on enemy capital ships to shut them down momentarily (Plasma Raids and Shades make good targets for the EMP burst ability). This wave has a lot of heavy enemy ships. try to divert some of the enemy ships away from the main fleet by entering their vision. It is easier to beat two smaller fleets than one large one.

  • The Fourth Wave will arrive on the left part of the screen closer to your base. Make sure you are still pumping out Hurricanes from your ship factory. The fourth wave through sixth wave are all beaten the same way. Use Hailstorms to detect cloaked units. Use the UNF Trinity Vessel EMP Burst Ability on enemy capital ships to shut them down momentarily (Plasma Raids and Shades make good targets for the EMP burst ability).

  • The Fifth and Sixth Wave both come from the bottom of the screen. Salamon Zamor and the Black Swan will give you some reinforcements. For the fifth and six waves you can keep your army near your base and just deal with the incoming. Use Hailstorms to detect cloaked units. Use the UNF Trinity Vessel EMP Burst Ability on enemy capital ships to shut them down momentarily (Plasma Raids and Shades make good targets for the EMP burst ability).

Hints: Save after completing each wave with a different save file so you can go back two waves (you never know how bad it is!). Try to keep a Pasteur alive as long as you can so you can heal damaged capital ships. You can just keep one in your base and use it as a repair center. Build hurricanes out of your Ship Factory with your mining money. Use the UNF Trinity Vessel EMP Burst Ability on enemy capital ships to shut them down momentarily (Plasma Raids and Shades make good targets for the EMP burst ability).
Part 9: Blackout

Thank you to TaxOwlbear for posting good playthroughs on YouTube. The link to his YouTube Channel is https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdNkCKi92i6NsiyxEUgVX1g

Objectives:
-Destroy the Sylon wormhole generators (3)
-UNF Fenrir must Survive

Difficulty: 4/5

Steam Achievement Task: Destroy 1 Wormhole Generator in 4 minutes in Chapter 1 Mission 9 - "Blackout".
  • Deploy your Command Station, build Supply Silos, Solar Stations, a Ship Factory and a Research Center. Once you have 9 – 13 workers on metal research Extraction Operations at the Mining Station which costs 200 metal and 200 Helium-3.

  • At the same time take your St. George Carrier fill it full of your hurricanes and your UNF Fenir Battleship and take out the nearest wormhole generator. The UNF Fenir has a Release Furie UAVs ability which will help you destroy enemies.

  • Make sure to Save your game once you pass an enemy line or two as things can go south fast. The game also has two autosave files that generate every five minutes you can load if needed.

  • In this mission metal, energy, and supply can be a little tight so keep on building Supply Silos and Solar Stations.
  • After you build up your base you either want to take out the second enemy wormhole in the top left or build up a second base just above.

  • On hard this mission can be a little tight on income you need to build Pasteurs to save metal and defense platforms and your Pasteurs will always be low on energy.

  • Once you destroy the second wormhole on top you either want to clear out the last enemy bases to get that last bit of income or go to destroy the third wormhole generator.

  • Once your ships enter into the territory of the third wormhole generator, the Sylon will send a huge fleet to meet yours. You might have to do some back and forth before you punch in and you need detection and anti-fighter support.

  • You want to make sure that you have all your ship upgrades researched at the Research Center, research Hermes Thruster at the Fleet HQ (you want your hero unit mobile), and research Shield Battery to make your Pasteurs more useful. You should have as least two battleships with your UNF Fenrir.
Hints: Save your game here and there. Protect your hero and use your hero. Protect your Pasteurs. Arsons can melt Orcas and Hurricanes and it is better to attack them with bigger ships like hailstorms. You can attack Arsons with your Orcas, just have the Orcas attack them from different angles so the splash attack doesn’t hit them all. Research Hermes Thruster at the Fleet HQ to make your battleships more nimble (they need to run sometimes)! Arsons are more effective when they are behind their own buildings which block incoming fire. So if an Arson is behind a building just move your ships so you have a line of sight with it. If you are low on money you might need to clear out enemy bases after the second wormhole generator is shutdown.
Part 10: Daedalus

Thank you to TaxOwlbear for posting good playthroughs on YouTube. The link to his YouTube Channel is https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdNkCKi92i6NsiyxEUgVX1g

Objectives:
-Escort the Shagua to the EIRA Station
-Escort the Gathering to the EIRA Station
-Shagua and the Gathering must Survive

Steam Achievement Task: Use the Gathering as living shield so its shield goes below 40 during Chapter 1 Mission 10 - "Daedalus".

Difficulty: 2/5
  • Use Shagua’s Antimatter Cloud ability and start to move down and attack Sylon forces. Other ships can support as needed. The Gathering can be used to absorb some damage.

  • If you find an Aegis defensive Sylon building by itself you can attack it with fighters (Intruders). Be careful shooting at the Aegis because it’s weapon is a gravimetric ray which ignores shields and will damage your hero ship Shagua if it hits it (your hero ship can take damage).

  • The map is pretty simple, just crawl across the map and use the Shagua Antimatter Cloud ability. I don’t think there are additional units you can find but there is a second way to the EIRA station at the bottom of the map if you attack and destroy small asteroids with your ships. When units are selected make sure to click “A” or the attack button and select the small asteroid with your mouse to destroy it.
Hints: Use Shagua’s Antimatter Cloud ability. Be careful shooting at the Aegis because it’s weapon is a gravimetric ray which ignores shields and will damage your hero ship Shagua if it hits it (your hero ship can take damage). Your fighter ships attack in swooping attack patterns, you can micro them so they recall more and don’t fly behind their targets. This will help them not fly in range of defending enemy ships when they are attacking a base. The Gathering can be used to absorb some damage.
Part 11: Into the Unknown
Thank you to TaxOwlbear for posting good playthroughs on YouTube. The link to his YouTube Channel is https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdNkCKi92i6NsiyxEUgVX1g

Objectives:
-Establish a station in a suitable location
-Shagua must Survive
-Eliminate all hostile presence

Steam Achievement Task: Wither 8 of the Green player's buildings by destroying the Helias providing them with energy during Chapter 1 Mission 11 - "Into the Unknown".

Difficulty: 2/5
  • Use Shagua and the Antimatter Cloud ability and start to move down and attack Zhogarn forces. Other ships can support as needed. Once you get to the area with both Metal and Helium-3 build a Central Pyramid. The Athrael’s Mass Transmitter mining stations beam resources back to your base without the need of freight ships.

  • Put almost all of your workers on metal at the start to get more metal to build more workers. Once you have 7 or 8 workers on metal start mining Helium-3 to research Extraction Operations at the Mass Transmitter which costs 200 metal, 200 Helium-3, and 200 energy. You are energy poor in this mission so you will need to build 3 to 5 Power Cores to get your energy up.

  • In this mission you can’t repair your hero so be careful to have your hero not take too much hull damage. You need a strong economy to replace lost vessels.

  • Build two Cabals to build ships, put BioSpheres at base entrances to boost your population, and upgrade BioSpheres to the Polaron Sphere defensive buildings.

  • Build a fleet, raid local resource asteroids, and build Mass Transmitter at new resource asteroid locations and leave a group of ships to defend.

  • Once everything is cooking push out and eliminate the highlighted enemy base.

Hints: Use Shagua and the Antimatter Cloud ability.
Part 12 : Fury of the Beasts
Thank you to TaxOwlbear for posting good playthroughs on YouTube. The link to his YouTube Channel is https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdNkCKi92i6NsiyxEUgVX1g

Time to leave the Islar sector.

Objectives:
-Defend the Cradle Station
-Shagua must Survive

Steam Achievement Task: Construct a defense line of 8 Polaron Spheres in Chapter 1 Mission 12 - "Fury of the Beasts".

Difficulty: 2/5
  • Put almost all of your workers on metal at the start to get more metal to build more workers. Once you have 10 workers on metal start mining Helium-3 to research Extraction Operations at the Mass Transmitter which costs 200 metal and 200 Helium-3.

  • Build BioSpheres at base entrances to boost your population, and upgrade the BioSpheres to the Polaron Sphere defensive buildings.

  • Use Shagua’s Antimatter Cloud ability for raids and save your game every 5 – 10 minutes.
  • Build a second Cabal to build more ships and a Conservatory to build Flankers. (Flankers cost a lot of Metal at 250 Metal and 100 Helium-3).
  • You can build a second mining base to the left of your main base by building a mass transmitter and defend it with a small group of ships.

  • Beef up your mining of Metal, Helium-3, and start mining Tachyon. At the end of this mission you can have 20 workers on metal, 6 on Helium-3 and 5 on Tachyon.

  • Build ships and research all military upgrades(weapons systems, armor plating, etc.). The Cyclotron Resonance upgrade at the Conservatory increases the range of the Polaron Cannon by 80.

  • In this mission you can’t repair your hero so be careful to have your hero not take too much hull damage. You need a strong economy to replace lost vessels.

Hints: Use Shagua’s Antimatter Cloud ability for raids. Build a second mining base to the left of your main base by building a mass transmitter and defend it with a small group of ships. Research Cyclotron Resonance upgrade at the increases the range of the Polaron Cannon by 80.
Part 13: Strange Liberators

Thank you to TaxOwlbear for posting good playthroughs on YouTube. The link to his YouTube Channel is https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdNkCKi92i6NsiyxEUgVX1g

Teamwork in the Sedra Sector.

Objectives:
-Eliminate all the sylon presence in the sector
-The Neda must survive
-Vera’s Command Station must survive

Steam Achievement Task: Destroy 20 units or buildings using Martyr Probes in Chapter 1 Mission 13 - "Strange Liberators".

Difficulty: 3/5
  • Clear out the enemy base with Neda’s battleship and two Flanker cruisers. Neda’s restoration ability repairs a friendly ship’s Hull by 50.

  • Build the Central Pyramid below the resource asteroids and build two BioSpheres at your base entrances and a Mass Transmitter by the Metal Resource Asteroids.

  • Put almost all of your workers on metal at the start to get more metal to build more workers. Once you have 7 or 8 workers on metal start mining Helium-3 to research Extraction Operations at the Mass Transmitter which costs 200 metal, 200 Helium-3, and 200 energy. You are energy poor in this mission so you will need to build lots of Power Cores to get your energy up. You might need to take workers off metal to build Power Cores.

  • Build a Cabal, then a Dome to upgrade BioSpheres to the Polaron Sphere defensive buildings.

  • There are resource asteroids just below your base but be careful the area is full of cloaked mines so you need to patrol with Neda’s Battleship, a Flanker, and an Explorer to see cloaked mines.

  • Make sure to Save your game once you pass an enemy line or set up a new base as things can go south fast. The game also has two autosave files that generate every five minutes you can load if needed.

  • There is a lot of stuff going on in this mission. You need to:
a. Build up your economy and production.
b. Build a second mining base at the resource asteroids just below your base
c. Give defensive assistance to your Federation ally at the front of their base.
d. Your Federation ally’s base has a second base opening in the bottom left. Detection with your explorer ship is one of the things they need to help them see and attack enemy Mask and Gloom Ships.
  • Once your ally is defended, you either want to attack the neighboring enemy base to get their Tachyon or destroy the small asteroids just to the right of your top base in the right opening and destroy one of the enemy bases.
  • It is a hard push breaking into the enemy base since they have well placed Arsons. Remember enemy buildings block Arsons from your attack line of sight attacks. So move around the buildings with your Flankers and Neda Battleship when possible to find a clean line of sight to hit the Arsons.

  • Build Gatherings at the Haven when you want to have a buildable area to put up defensive buildings.

  • Build multiple Clairvoyants to heal your Hero unit, flankers, allies, and buildings.

  • Hints: Use your Neda Battleship a lot. Build lots of workers to take advantage of resources. Build multiple Clairvoyants to heal your Hero unit, flankers, allies, and buildings. Research Cyclotron Resonance upgrade at the increases the range of the Polaron Cannon by 80. Only attack Arsons once the local enemy ships are lured out of the base and destroyed.
Part 14: The Assault

Thank you to TaxOwlbear for posting good playthroughs on YouTube. The link to his YouTube Channel is https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdNkCKi92i6NsiyxEUgVX1g

Objectives:
-Destroy 3 Sylon Generators
-The Neda must survive

Steam Achievement Task: The hero Adikara must destroy at least 40 units or buildings in Chapter 1 Mission 14 - "The Assault".

Difficulty: 3/5
  • Put all your workers on mining Metal Resource Asteroids. Build 3 Power Cores.

  • Once you have 7 or 8 workers on metal start mining research Extraction Operations at the Mass Transmitter which costs 200 metal, 200 Helium-3, and 200 energy. You are energy poor in this mission so you will need to build lots of Power Cores to get your energy up. You might need to take workers off metal to build Power Cores.

  • Build workers to get your Helium-3 production up and soon Tachyon production up.

  • Make sure to Save your game once you pass an enemy line or set up a new base as things can go south fast. The game also has two autosave files that generate every five minutes you can load if needed.

  • Use Neda to destroy local Defensive buildings and Arsons.

  • You want to build a Gathering to build a Central Pyramid closer to the Tachyon Resource Asteroids in the area of your base so you can build Polaron Sphere defensive buildings around the Tachyon.

  • Make sure you are researching important upgrades and building the necessary buildings to support your fleet.

  • Build the Martyrium Structure and Clairvoyant ships to heal your damaged ships.

  • Build a base up North, build up your fleet, and make sure your fleet has access to Explorers in case the Sylon have cloaked units.

  • Start attacking the Sylon bases and destroy their resource gathering and production buildings.

  • If you lose an Invader Battleship Three Revenger fighters spawn.

  • Hints: Use your Neda Battleship a lot. Build lots of workers to take advantage of resources. Build multiple Clairvoyants to heal your Hero unit, ships, and buildings. Research Cyclotron Resonance upgrade at the increases the range of the Polaron Cannon by 80.
Part 15: Shadows of the Past

Thank you to TaxOwlbear for posting good playthroughs on YouTube. The link to his YouTube Channel is https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdNkCKi92i6NsiyxEUgVX1g

Feds show up in Hathor-4 system.

Objectives:
-Eliminate All Sylon Forces
-UNF Fenrir must survive

Steam Achievement Task: Destroy all the production buildings of the Federation player in Chapter 1 Mission 15 - "Shadows of the Past".

Difficulty: 4/5
  • You start with a fleet. Use your ships to clear out the enemy structures to the south and set up a base there. Make sure to lead with Battleship Fenrir and don’t lose your Pasteur ship! Assign your Crow fighters to your Carrier. The UNF Fenir has a Release Furie UAVs ability which will help you destroy enemies or soak up enemy damage.

  • Have your workers build your base. Deploy your Kutuzov into a Command Station so you can mine Metal and build more ships. You will be energy hungry in this mission so you will need to build multiple Solar Stations and Supply Silos.
  • At the same time take your whole fleet south to destroy the enemy Federation Base. You will need Hailstorms to detect the mines that are floating around. Make sure to be smart with your ships and Pasteur.

  • Make sure to Save your game once you pass an enemy line or set up a new base as things can go south fast. The game also has two autosave files that generate every five minutes you can load if needed. Enemies love to target your vulnerable Pasteur ships and undefended buildings.

  • You want to manage your fleet strategically in the south and briefly check on your base because you need a strong economy to build defensive structures and Supply Silos to build more ships. Use the UNF Fenir “Release Furie UAVs” ability which will help you soak up enemy damage and hurt enemy ships.

  • Once you knock out the base to the south, you want to leave a couple ships to destroy the remaining enemy buildings while moving most of your ships back home to defend the Sylon attack waves which should be arriving shortly.

  • Try to research Extraction Operations at the Mass Transmitter which costs 200 Metal, 200 Helium-3, and 200 Energy as soon as you can.

  • If you are able to knock out the Federation base to the South with your starting ships this mission is very doable. Just build a bunch of Ships, Pasteurs to heal, and you can also build a defensive platform in your base. Enemy Arsons can outrange your defensive platforms so you need hailstorms or Battleships to take them out.

  • Build a second or third base by building Kutuzovs to deploy into Command Stations. You will most likely need Hailstorms to clear out enemy mines in the area.

  • The final Sylon base has a lot of ships. You either want to build a Command Station and defensive buildings outside of their base to meet the enemy ships or build a couple Tellers to send nukes towards the death balls of Sylon Ships that come at you.
Hints: Use your Battleship Fenir a lot, but don’t lose it! Use the UNF Fenir “Release Furie UAVs” ability which will help you soak up enemy damage and hurt enemy ships. Have Pasteurs to heal your ships and defensive buildings. Destroy the Federation base to the south as fast as you can.
Part 16: Revenge

Thank you to TaxOwlbear for posting good playthroughs on YouTube. The link to his YouTube Channel is https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdNkCKi92i6NsiyxEUgVX1g

Objectives:
-Eliminate the Sylus Core
-UNF Fenrir must survive
-Athraels must survive

Steam Achievement Task: Destroy the Sylon base in the north and create an expansion there consisting of a Command Center and Mining Station in Chapter 1 Mission 16 - "Revenge".

Difficulty: 3.5/5
  • You start with a fleet in your base. At the start of the mission, put all of your workers on metal.

  • Move most of your ships just behind the right opening of your base. There will be two enemy waves that attack your base. The first wave will come from the right of your base, the second wave will come from the top of your base. The UNF Fenir has a Release Furie UAVs ability which will help you destroy enemies or soak up enemy damage.

  • After you clear the first wave, move your ships to the north entrance of your base to clear the second wave of enemies.

  • Once both enemy waves are cleared, take your UNF Fenrir, a Battleship, a Carrier, a Orca, and a hailstorm to clear out the enemy Sylon base to the North.

  • Make sure to Save your game once you pass an enemy line or set up a new base as things can go south fast. The game also has two autosave files that generate every five minutes you can load if needed. Enemies love to target your vulnerable Pasteur ships and undefended buildings.

  • You want to manage your economy at the same time you are attacking the base in the North. Use the Release Furie UAVs ability which will help you destroy enemies or soak up enemy damage.

  • Try to research Extraction Operations at the Mass Transmitter early in the game which costs 200 Metal, 200 Helium-3, and 200 Energy as soon as you can. But taking out the base to the north and not losing ships is the priority. Start pumping out your ship upgrades at the Research Center.

  • You will be energy poor in this mission. So you will need to build solar stations and later fusion reactors. Enemy fighters will want to attack your workers to build Barricade Satellites around your resources in both bases.

  • Build a Merchantport and Medical Station to build Pasteurs to heal your ship and building damage from the enemy raids.

  • Build a second base in the North by building a Kutuzov to deploy into a Command Station. At the same time you can mine the Tachyon Resource Asteroids at the South of your base with a Mining Station and it shouldn’t be attached too often.

  • You shouldn’t need to defend the friendly Athrael base to the south. But if they are in trouble, you can send stuff down there.

  • Enemy Arsons will attack both your bases and lots of enemy Sylon ships will have cloak. Make sure to move your ships out of the Arson attack range if needed and attack them with your hailstorms and battleships as they melt smaller ships.

  • Once everything is moving smoothly, build two Dockyards and a Fleet HQ to allow you to build Avengers and Defensive Platforms. You will want to research Fleet Reform later to unlock Avenger II battleships.

  • Either attack the enemy base in the North or team up with an Athrael strike force to do more damage. Pastures that can help your damaged ships will help you a lot. Micro badly damaged ships to the back to be healed. Enemy ships will sometimes over pursue damaged enemy ships which will allow you to destroy them without taking as much damage.
Hints: Use your Battleship Fenir a lot, but don’t lose it! Use the UNF Fenir “Release Furie UAVs” ability which will help you soak up enemy damage and hurt enemy ships. Knock out the enemy base to the North fast. Have Pasteurs to heal your ships and defensive buildings. Micro badly damaged ships to the back to be healed. Enemy ships will sometimes over pursue damaged enemy ships which will allow you to destroy them without taking as much damage.
Chap 2 Mission 4: Race Against Time

Thank you to TaxOwlbear for posting good playthroughs on YouTube. The link to his YouTube Channel is https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdNkCKi92i6NsiyxEUgVX1g

Objectives:
-Find the predecessor Praetor’s wreckage
-The Praetor must survive.

  • This is a hard mission!! You might need to save your game every five minutes as it’s hard to manage the map traps and spawning enemy Flankers.

  • In this mission you start with a fleet and move across the map to find the wreckage of the Praetor’s predecessor.

  • Athrael Flankers will periodically spawn at the start of the map to try to destroy your ships. Your Praetor hero ship has a Release an Orbiter (B Hotkey) ability to spawn an attack ship to help defend you against enemies.

  • North West of your starting position you will find some units behind two small asteroids you can destroy. There is a Transponder building here where you can upgrade your weapons.

  • When you go down the asteroid corridor some Athraels ships will strike from behind an exploded Asteroid.
  • You will then come to the hardest part of the map. Once you pass some Sylon defensive buildings. There are two Arsons behind a group of Athrael Obelisks in an asteroid opening just behind the defensive buildings you gained control of. You need to cloak a Twinblade with the Praetors Concealment ability (close to the opening) and run the cloaked ship to the top right to gain control of the Arsons.

  • Once you control the Arsons take them out of stationary mode and move them slightly so their max range can hit one of the orange explosive Plasmoids by the enemy Obelisks. You can find the max range of a ship by clicking the text of the ships weapon in the unit portrait window.

  • You then need to defend against incoming Flankers at the same time your Praetor obtains 175 energy so the Praetor can use the ability Release an Orbiter and Concealment so you can send the cloaked ship (Orbiter) so it can see a Plasmoid in it’s range. Then click an Arson then click the A Hotkey for attack or click attack icon in the Arson profile and select on the explosive Plasmoids. This should destroy all the Obelisks and leave one almost destroyed. For the last Obelisk, use your hero, the Arson’s range, or one of the Caldrons to blow it up.
  • Have one Arson with your two Caldrons defending your building line. Take the other Arson to push down the map with your hero ship and use it’s longer range to attack enemy buildings, your hero Praetor ship can give your Arson the vision it needs to hit the enemy. There is one more building you can take control of if you destroy the small Asteroids just after the line Polaron Spheres.

  • Once you take control of the next line of Sylon buildings you can slowly abandon your first line of buildings and move through the rest of the map using your Arson range to initiate combat and outrange your enemies. There is a repair station at the at the second line of buildings you come across which can repair hull damage.

  • At a certain point you can abandon all of your buildings and just move all of your ships together through the rest of the map to find your objective.
Hints: Use the Praetor Release an Orbiter (B Hotkey) ability to spawn an attack ship to help defend you against enemies. Research Ship attack upgrades if you can. Use the Arson’s range to out range enemies on the map. Your hero Praetor ship can give your Arson the vision it needs to hit the enemy.

Chap 3 Mission 15 The Tables are turned (Short Version) (In Progress)
Thank you to TaxOwlbear for posting good playthroughs on YouTube. The link to his YouTube Channel is https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdNkCKi92i6NsiyxEUgVX1g

Mission Objectives:
-Eliminate Nephral
-Eliminate Victor Komarov
-Karak must survive
-Mondor must survive

There are three ways to beat this mission.
1. Build double Fonia defenses at base entrances so they can destroy Fed. Tellers before they can launch their Nuclear missile.
2. Build an Argus or two to use as a forward shield for your Long Range Rictus and expand and destroy one of the bases first either Fed. or Athrael. It is better to destroy the Federation base first because their Tellers and Avenger Battlecruisers and more difficult to beat.
3. The third choice is to do a quick fighter strike rush to take out the Federation Fleet HQ. Where you boom and build about 24 -27 Guards and fly across the asteroids with Guard upgrades. Once the Fleet HQ is destroyed the Federation won’t rebuild it and it will be much easier to destroy their base since they can’t build Tellers and Avenger battlecruisers without the Fleet HQ.

Below is the short explanation for the fighter rush to take out the Federation Fleet HQ.

For the fighter rush you will need:
- 14 workers on metal, 5 on Helium-3, 3 - 4 on Tachyon.
- the economic upgrades Extraction Operations and Gastric Evolution.
- The Military Pond Upgrades Weapons 1(Aggression) and Weapons 2, and Funnel Glands. The Symbion upgrades Natural Selection and Regenerative Cells
- You will need to build two extra digestors for Helium-3 and Tachyon, a Symbion three Nutrient Colonies and four Metabolists.
- 26-30 guards
  • You should be able to build the above by the 10 -13 minute mark. Save at this point because you might need to load the save again. Move your fighters right along the bottom of the screen to start taking out Federation buildings. Destroy the bottom Barricade Sat. and move right. When attacking Fusion Reactors damage their hulls low and then have one guard do the killing blow (exploding Fusion Reactors can destroy a lot of your fighters). Destroy Barricade Sats. to the south and on the right of the Fleet HQ by the Resource Asteroids. If a Barricade Sat. is behind a Supply Silo just fly behind it and then attack the Barricade Sat. again and less of your shots will be blocked by the Supply Silo. Your base will be attacked at the same time periodically so you need to multitask, you can move your fighters to the bottom right corner of map to hide while you focus on your base. Build more Agarics in your base for defense.

  • You need to have the Federation Tellers in the enemy base to launch their nukes before you attack the fleet HQ, so if you attack their Mining stations the tellers should approach your fighters and launch their nuclear strike against them. If more than half your fighters get blown up by a nuke you might have to reload. When you do fighter strikes it might take some save scumming (loading the same save over and over) to get it right. You can always build more fighters to join your fighter squadron but don’t attack will less than 22 fighters. Your fighter ships attack in swooping attack patterns, you can micro them so their flight area is in front of their target and they don’t fly behind their targets. This will help them not fly in range of defending enemy ships when they are attacking a base.
  • If you succeed and the Fleet HQ destroyed you will need to build some Minds and get the Mind Upgrades for shields and range because you will run into Crows later and the Minds are good Anti Fighter, plus give you detection, and you can slowly turn some into Overseers.

  • Boom your economy, build up base defenses, and get that military population high and take out Federation Base. You do have limited money in this mission so it’s important to keep loses down and not throw money away and have a good defensive fleet in needed areas. Unfortunately your heros don’t have a huge punch so they can’t defend a base opening by themselves. You can do some additional fighter runs since they can pick off Federation buildings and workers. You might want to build some mites to heal your original Charybdis or defensive structures that are almost dead spending 50 Helium-3 on a mite can help you save a Fonia which costs more.

Mission Objectives:
-Eliminate Nephral
-Eliminate Victor Komarov
-Karak must survive
-Mondor must survive

Difficulty 6/5

Below is the long explanation for the fighter rush to take out the Federation Fleet HQ.

  • First get 13 workers mining the metal resource asteroids, move the workers you have to mine metal, have the Argus create Spawn and morph them into Workers. Build more (four or five) Spawn to get workers on metal. Once you have 13 workers on metal build a Digestor at the Helium-3 resource asteroid location which costs 200 metal.

  • Put the Guards at the start of the mission inside the Charybdis so they have more health. There will be a couple small raids into your base at the beginning, these fighters will help keep your base from taking too much damage. The big raid is the three Athrael Flankers which comes later.

  • Build four more workers to prepare for the completion of the Digestor by the Helium-3 to mine it. You will need to build a Nutrient Colony if you get supply blocked. One of the first things you will purchase is the upgrade Extraction Operations at the Digestor which costs 200 Metal and 200 Helium-3.

  • You will research Superacid at the Digestor tiny bit later so you can transport more resources per extraction.

  • Once you have your economy going you can put more workers on Helium-3. Move workers around if you have plenty of Helium-3. You’re going to want to build a Digestor at the Tachyon resource asteroids. At the Pond you want to Research Funnel Glands for increased guard speed and Weapons 1(Aggression). You want four workers ready to mine Tachyon once that Tachyon Digestor is completed.

  • You want to build a Symbion early so you can research Natural Selection and later Regenerative Cells. Make sure you have 13 workers on metal and replace workers if you lose some.

  • Start pumping out Spawn and turn them into Guard fighters. You will need to build more Metabolists for energy and Nutrient Colonies for supply. You can Hotkey your Argus to 1 on the keyboard by pressing Ctrl + 1 and press W to create Spawn once it’s selected.

  • You want to build guards to get more than 24 You need the Funnel Glands, Weapons 1(Aggression) upgrade, Weapons 2 Upgrade which you need 200 Tachyon at the Pond and Natural Selection and Regenerative cells at the Symbion which need Tachyon. You should be able to build this by the 10 - 13 minute mark if you save mission and quit mission it will tell you the game time. Save at this point because you might need to load the save again.
  • It is normal for your fighter raid against the Fed Fleet HQ to go south One bad Teller nuke, a Fed Joseon of cast Emp Strike, Fed Fusion Reactor explosion, or not running away from a Battleship soon enough will destroy your fighter strike force. If a battle ship is attacking you just move away to a different part of the base to heal or find a new target to attack unless you are doing the final run to destroy the Fleet HQ.

Chap 4 Mission 3: Dethronement

Objectives
-Eliminate Bleda’s Flagship
- Skull Bearer must survive

Difficulty: 6/5
  • This mission starts with your outerbase being attacked by enemy Thorun. Bring all the units from your outer base down to the lower base, beneath the space fog. Make sure you bring the zoner and the Tachyon workers.

  • Have your combat ships in your lower base move to the lower bases left opening to attack the incoming enemy ship group. Your Skull Bearer hero Flagship unit has a Quasar flare ability which does a lot of damage in a small area. Use this ability if you see two large enemy ships together, but be careful when you use it, it costs 200 energy and takes a long time to recharge.

  • Get your economy going on Metal and Helium-3. At the beginning of the mission you start with 400 metal, use almost all of that to buy workers to put on metal.

  • One of the first things you should purchase once you have eight workers on metal and are mining Helium-3 is the research upgrade Extraction Operations which is located at the Material Silo which costs 200 metal and 200 Helium-3. You will also need to upgrade Extended Cargo at the Material Silo sometime later.

  • This mission is pretty hard. There are a lot of enemy ships outside your base and you need Tachyon. You want to limit the number of fronts you need to defend with ship groups.

  • Most of your starting fleet should be parked right under the asteroid cloud right at your bottom base top opening.
  • Your second ship group should be on the left opening of your bottom base, you will use this fleet to push out to the left a little bit and set up a second base by the Tachyon.

  • Research both ship attack and armor upgrades at the Guild. Build a Forum and research upgrades Friction Welding to give your welders the repair ability and Ionic Turbines to give your Power Plants the ability to recharge shields of your ships.

  • In this mission you need to be active with your defensive structures so build guard stations to defend base openings, workers, and places that are harassed by ships. Build habitats in front of your guard stations when applicable to soak up some enemy fire.

  • Expand out and grab the Tachyon close to you on the left, build defensive structures a couple Ion Cannon’s deeper at your Tachyon base so they are farther away from enemy fire. Build a Hall and a Senate to build Flagships.

  • Research tier 2 and 3 Ship attack and armor upgrades at the Forum. You can house Predator fighters on your Flagships. Build multiple production buildings to produce ships. Make sure your rally points are set low left, so ships don’t path up through the fog and get hit.

  • Start mining the Metal and Helium-3 which are by your Tachyon base. Then build your Flagship group (4 -5 flagships including hero) you will use to push top left to attack the top left base. Your Skull Bearer hero Flagship unit has a Quasar flare ability, you will use this ability the whole game.
  • Your starting fleet parked under the space fog should be able to defend that area most of the game. You can build a Ion Canon at the top opening of your bottom base to target ships that come in, have it behind a guard station.

  • You will probably need a fleet with supply greater than 213 to defend bottom and attack top (most of your supply will be attacking top).

  • Breaking through the top base is a lot of hit and run. Attack the base with flagships, move back and repair damaged Flagships with Welders (you can recharge their shields with Power Plants if needed). Rinse and repeat. Make sure you have anti-fighter support with your Flagships either docked Predators or Marauders.

  • Enemy Ion Cannons have a long range so you need to soak up some damage with your Flagships when you approach them and micro damaged ones away when you commit to destroying enemy Ion Canons or the buildings in front of them.

  • When I started destroying the top left base, I built a proxy base (Capitol) at the bottom of that base to build welders and defensive structures including a Power Plant to recharge shields. Ships will still attack your tachyon base expansion so you need to make sure you have some ships there including Flagships to destroy enemy waves that come in.

  • Once your wrap up destroying the left base, take any resources you want and prepare to destroy the defensive nest by Bleda and destroy the buildings in front of him and his flagship.

Hints: Grabs the units at the top base at the start and move them down. Defend your bases left opening as soon as possible. For your bottom base do not push out past the asteroid fog and stay below it. Push out and get Tachyon on the left when the time is right. Be Strategic with the Ion Canons you build and build Flagships and attack the enemy base with repair and fighter support. Your Skull Bearer hero Flagship unit has a Quasar flare ability which does a lot of damage in a small area. Use this ability if you see two large enemy ships together, but be careful when you use it, it costs 200 energy and takes a long time to recharge.
Chap 4 Mission 2: All Quiet in Aurum

Thank you to TaxOwlbear for posting good playthroughs on YouTube. The link to his YouTube Channel is https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdNkCKi92i6NsiyxEUgVX1g

Objectives:
-Build 3 Sylus Emitters to the given locations
-Unizar must Survive

Difficulty: 6/5

  • This mission is tough, enemy glooms, and the Aegis defensive buildings have Gravimetric Rays that damage your ship hulls of your hero unit, Masks and Assimilators and you are not able to heal your ship hulls in this mission.

  • Use saves frequently, once you have good progress. Use old saves if something goes wrong. You really can’t lose any of your Masks, Assimilators at the start, or have too much hull damage on your Unizar Plasma Raid at the start.

  • At the start of the mission you have a Hero Unizar Plasma Raid, two Assimilators, and a Mask. You will come upon two enemy Arsons by Support Centers. You will want to assimilate both of these with your Assimilator.

  • Use Unizar to destroy the closest Support Center. Then have him attack the second Support Center and make sure to have Unizar get closer than he needs to be so the enemy Mask ship behind the Arsons sees you and will then chase after you when you back up. Convert the enemy Mask ship with one of your Assimilators.

  • Once your Assimilator gets back over 200 power. Move your Unizar Plasma Raid back to the Arsons and destroy the second Supply Center, then Cast Blind or EMP Burst on the enemy Arsons and try not to damage them. Have your Assimilators close so they are ready to cast Assimilation on the enemy Arsons once they have Blind and EMP Burst cast on them.
  • Once you have both enemy Arsons converted, use your fleet to push through the top left and go down. Use Arsons for range and have detection to clear out enemy mines.

  • Your Mask and Assimilators are very important units. You really need two Assimilators and one mask at all times and at least one worker. Once you reach and secure the area around the first marker, build your first Sylon Emitter there. You are going to want to park most of your ships behind the first Sylon Emitter you build and use it as a shield to soak up enemy ship fire while you fire at them and assimilate them. Sylon Emitters have a sensor detection ability, so you will use your plasma raid or mask to lure enemy ships and use an Assimilator cloaked by a Mask to assimilate them.
  • Watch out for patrols of enemy Caldrons. You will destroy and assimilate a portion of these but you need to wait until you have successful Assimilations of large enemy ships such as Shades, Eclipse, and Plasma raids.

  • In this mission you essentially need to Assimilate five big ships to overcome the enemy fleet. Use those ships to destroy enemy production, and try to avoid direct confrontations with the enemy fleet of patrolling Glooms since they are usually accompanied with a Mask and will damage or destroy your Assimilators or Hero Unit Unizar Plasma Raid. Use strategic retreats, ships with follow you if you are in their vision. This will allow you to do convert ambushes or ship ambushes.

  • Send an army out left to clear out the enemy metal asteroid mining. Use Arson range for defensive Buildings. Don’t try to take the whole top base below your Sylon Emitter at this point. Just hide behind the Sylon Emitter and have a second fleet with Unizar, an Assimilator, and Mask weave around the Asteroids and space walls left to get into the top left part of the left base.

  • Avoid trying to destroy the Sylus Core and associated building in the center of the enemy bases.

  • Avoid patrolling glooms if you can they will just destroy your Assimilator, Masks and Hero. Just move away and come back when they are gone.

  • Sweep down left, shut down production, execute as many good Assimilations as you can. If you lose an Assimilator you might need to reload a prior save. Masks are also very valuable since they are a ship enemies will see so they will get attacked a lot. Just keep assimilating and destroying production. Eventually you will clear out left and right enemy bases and escort your workers to build the last two Sylon Emitters and the mission is over.
Hints: Protect your Masks and Assimilators. Use saves frequently, once you have good progress. Use old saves if something goes wrong. You really can’t lose any of your Masks, Assimilators at the start, or have too much hull damage on your Unizar Plasma Raid at the start. Build and convert slow, but also hit enemy production when you can. Avoid patrolling enemy Gloom groups. Use strategic retreats, ships with follow you if you are in their vision. This will allow you to do convert ambushes or ship ambushes.

I was actually just playing that mission a week ago to figure out how to beat it. I have a draft of Chapter 3 Task/Part/Mission 15 in guide both long and short versions.

It will take a couple weeks for me to complete it (Chapter 3 mission 15). Eventually, I will try to have three guides, one for chap 1, one for chap 2, and one for chap 3 and 4.
