Where To Find Your Save File
In the case of windows 10 users, you can find the save file using this path:

C:\Users\"name"\AppData\Local\Synthetik

Replace "name" with the name you've chosen to use. Also, no quotation marks.
Reminder To Backup Your Save
Before changing anything, save a copy of your save.sav file as either save.sav copy or as a txt file. This way, you have a backup of your save in case something goes wrong. Like the picture below.

What Text Editor to Use
The default notepad can be used just fine. I personally use notepad ++ so there will be visual differences between the screenshots I provide versus what you'll see when editing yourself.
Editing Class Loadouts
I'll use the Guardian Class as an example. The other classes are the exact same except for their perkslot0class and perkslot3class lines. Perkslot0 is the class core and Perkslot3 is the item that specific class starts with.

Right now, I don't have any items or perks selected so they each line becomes obj_perk_randomperk. Perkslots4 to Perkslot7 are where your chosen items and modules appear in game. Perkslots6 and 7 are where your modules appear, likewise Perkslot4 and 5 are where your items appear when chosen in game.

However, items and modules can be placed into any of the aforesaid slots.

The Class Cores are as follows:
perkslot0class10="obj_perk_riotguard"
perkslot0class11="obj_perk_breacher"
perkslot0class20="obj_perk_marksman" (Sniper)
perkslot0class21="obj_perk_assassin"
perkslot0class30="obj_perk_raider"
perkslot0class31="obj_perk_assaultgunner" (Heavy Gunner)
perkslot0class40="obj_perk_engineer"
perkslot0class41="obj_perk_demolisher"
(Copied text from another guide)

These class cores can be swapped with any others. For example, you could replace "riotguard" with "demolisher" and get to Demo's Class core when playing as riotguard. This can be done with any of the cores.

perkslot3class10="obj_item99_battlecry"
perkslot3class11="obj_item100_breachingcharge"
perkslot3class20="obj_item122_targetcpu" (Targeting Laser)
perkslot3class21="obj_item94_dagger"
perkslot3class30="obj_item81_tanto" (Reverbing Blade)
perkslot3class31="obj_item124_gunner"
perkslot3class40="obj_item71_sentry"
perkslot3class41="obj_item101_resonator"

It's the same as with Class Cores. They can swap positions and even be replaced by the items you can add to your loadout given you've unlocked them which is something I'll touch on later.

Items and perks from other classes can be used with others following the logic I laid out above. All you need to do is find the "item###_name" and replace "perk_randomperk" with whatever item you choose. For perks, all you need is the "name" and replace "randomperk" with it. Just like what the Class Cores and Items look like.

If you're using notepad++, all the items, class perks and pistols from each class go from lines 1438-1911. If you're using regular notepad, hold ctrl then press F and either type or paste in tunlock_obj_item7_vial. This will bring you to the start of the list as the order is class order is reversed with Guardian starting at the bottom and Specialist at the top.
Unlocking Perks and Items
Perks and items will each have these three lines similar to these.

tpoints_obj_item#_name="1.000000" ( Tells the game how much power it has.
tactive_obj_item#_name="0.000000" ( Tells the game if it's active,
tunlock_obj_item#_name="1.000000" ( This line tells the game this item is unlocked.

tpoints_obj_perk_name="1.000000" ( Tells the game how much power it has.
tactive_obj_perk_name="1.000000" ( Tells the game if it's active,
tunlock_obj_perk_name="1.000000" ( This line tells the game this perk is unlocked.

tpoints_obj_perk_name="1.000000" < Given you've unlocked the research for daily modules, this value will randomly change to either "1.250000", "1.400000" or "1.600000" for three different perks on each class. They can be increased to up to 5+, but I've only ever changed it to 5 so I'm not sure how it'll affect the game going above that.

As for items, I haven't seen any increase in power when changing their values.

If a perk or item is locked in game then its respective tunlock_obj_perk_name/tunlock_obj_item#_name will have a "-##.000000". Changing it to "1.000000" will unlock the item or perk.
Prestige and Challenge/Insane Bonuses Unlock
In the game you can prestige your class when hitting level 25, unlocking a stat bonus for that class. For each class you can also do a challenge/insane that will give stat bonuses to ALL classes. After doing one, a purple(?) star will appear next to the class. Doing all three will have place two stars next to each class.

Using the Guardian classes as an example again, take a look at the screenshot.

subclasspst10="1.000000" refers to Riot guard with one prestige. (You don't get anything after the first time)

Here are the lines for each class.

subclasspst10
subclasspst11
subclasspst12
subclasspst20
subclasspst21
subclasspst22
subclasspst30
subclasspst31
subclasspst32
subclasspst40
subclasspst41
subclasspst42

Starting off, they'll look like this. subclasspst##="0.000000". Changing it to subclasspst##="1.000000" for each will prestige each class once and thus earn the stat bonuses.

The challenge/insane follow the same rules.

ski##="0.000000" > ski##="2.000000"
sad##="0.000000" > sad##="2.000000"
sta##="0.000000" > sta##="2.000000"
sma##="0.000000" > sma##="2.000000"
scl##="0.000000" > sci##="2.000000"

Changing their values to the ones on the right will unlock the bonues for the challenge/insane.

Note: The two ## are just placeholders for the numbers that will be there.
Resetting Daily Run and Cheat Codes
Upon unlocking the research for daily runs, you'll be able to do as the name implies, but only once a day. To reset it and be able to do another run, ctrl + f and type/paste Save3 into your search.

This will bring you here.

drun="0.000000" is the value for daily run. Right now, it's 0 which means I've already did a daily run. If I started the game again, it would change to drun="1.000000". So, changing the first 0 to a 1 will reset the daily run so it can be used again.

Statist0 to statist29 are the cheat codes. As you can see, statist29 has a value of "837.000000". This means the code which statist29 refers to has been used. Changing it to statist29="0.000000" will allow you to use the cheat again.

For both of these resets, you will need to close the game, do the above, save and then start the game again in order to reset them.
Infinite Credits
Find perkpoints1 to perkpoints4 and change their "0.000000" values to "999.000000". Doing this will earn you perk points that give you data(up to a max of 1000) upon clicking them in game. Also, if you don't want to individually unlock each perk, clicking on these perk points will unlock the perks for the class.

These are the perkpoints for the Rogue classes.
Other Guides
If my guide is confusing, there are a few other guides on steam of how to edit your save file that might be worded a bit better. From what I could see, they're more focused on a single part of the save you can edit unlike mine.

The two other guides that helped me before I made this one are linked below.

Besides that, I apologise if my guide leaves you confused!

there's an item, crux of the laser caster, that's got basically a 0% drop chance due to a bug in the save. this can be fixed by either following the link I'm dropping at the end of this comment, or you can fix it yourself. ctrl-f "idropchange 149" and you'll see the value is "-8.000000" when it should be "0.000000"

as it so happens, you can change drop chances of various items this way, if you know what the item ids represent.
