Enable Twitch Channel Points for Marbles on Stream

This guide will assist you with setting up and enabling the Channel Points abilities within Marbles on Stream.

First steps

The first step to enable the channel point abilities is to become a Twitch Affiliate.

You need to be a Twitch Affiliate to create Twitch 'Channel Points Rewards' which is what Marbles on Stream uses.

Setup Channel Rewards

Channel Points - Abilities

There are three abilities that can be used with Channel Points, these abilities are weak but if used heavily can change the outcome of any race.

Name	Description
Jump	Marble jumps (always fun to watch viewers leap off the track)
Boost	Marble gets a small burst of speed
Strike	Marble will boost towards another nearby marble

You must name the Channel Points exactly as they are shown here for Marbles on Stream to recognize anyone that redeems any points.

Setting up Channel Points in Twitch

This section will guide you over creating channel points if you have never done this before, or maybe have forgotten how.

Create Channel Points:

1. Open a web browser and go to Twitch.com
2. Login if not already, and then click your profile picture at the top right
   
3. Select Creator Dashboard
   
4. Down the left go to Viewer Rewards > Channel Points
   
5. Click Manage Rewards & Challenges
   
6. At the bottom of the Custom Rewards section click +Add New Custom Reward
   
7. Create your new reward remembering that the names must be exact (image is optional)
   
8. Press Save, and all going well, your reward is created!
   
9. Repeat steps 6-8 for each reward you want to add

What rewards you add, and how much they cost is all up to you!
Keep in mind, that the cheaper it is, the more spam you will introduce into chat in the form of redemption messages.

Enable Channel Rewards in game

This section will guide you to enabling the required setting for Marbles on Stream to listen for Channel Points rewards, and also maybe reveal some settings you never knew existed!

1. Open Marbles on Stream
   
2. Ensure you are logged in with Twitch in game (Profile button top right)
   
3. Select Race, Arcade, or Tilted
   
4. Press the Settings button located down the bottom right of the screen
   
5. Tick the option 'Channel Point Events'
   

With this setting enabled, Marbles on Stream will listen for Channel Point redemption's.

Testing Channel Points Rewards

If you are like me you will want to test things before you go live to try to avoid having to deal with any technical issues while you are streaming, here is how you can do that to verify all is working OK!

Testing

1. Open Marbles on Stream
   
2. Ensure you are logged into Twitch in Marbles on Stream (Profile top right)
   
3. Start an unranked game Arcade > Boost Mode in Viewer mode
   
4. Open a web browser, and navigate to your Twitch Channel page
   
5. Once on your page, go to the Chat section or Creator Dashboard (somewhere to use chat)
   
6. Type !play in your chat and verify you joined in the game
   
7. Start the race
   
8. Try using the Channel Points Rewards you setup

All going well, your ball should react with each of the rewards you created.

TROUBLESHOOTING:

• When using !play in chat, your ball does not spawn in-game:
  Check Marbles on Stream has logged into Twitch and your channel successfully.
  
  
• Channel Rewards (Jump, Strike, Boost) do nothing!
  Ensure you have the settings enabled in Marbles on Stream, and also that you have named the rewards EXACTLY the same as the table above, they will not work if they are named differently.

ATTENTION: If you are not a Twitch Partnered streamer, don't bother attempting to unlock all achievements. Even the developers confirmed that only major streamers can unlock all of the achievements.
