How to run Batman: Arkham Asylum on your Steam Deck

This guide shows you how to get Batman: Arkham Asylum running on your Steam Deck.
I just made this for this specific game because I was bored, though this solution applies to like 99% of games that don't work unless there's some kind of anticheat or other issue. Go to ProtonDB.com and search your game for more info and fixes.

Desktop Mode

First, you will want to go out to desktop mode.

KDE Discover

Open the Discover app, and install ProtonUp-QT. Open it.

Add Proton GE

Select "Add Version" and download the latest version of Proton-GE.

EDIT: The latest version of Proton-GE would generally be sufficient; however recent users are reporting that 7.37 is working better.

Finishing up

Go back to the Deck UI, aka "Gaming Mode". Open the properties for Arkham Asylum, then go to the "Compatibility" tab, and select the Proton-GE version you downloaded. Enjoy the game!

I kept getting a "file not found" type of error when I tried to run Batman: Arkham Asylum on Steam Deck. I have Batman: Arkham City on Steam, so I installed it on my Steam Deck and played it once for a few minutes. It seems to have installed whatever files were missing for Arkham Aslyum as now I can play it just fine on Steam Deck with full settings and it hits 60fps consistantly. I've played it for an hour or so without any major issues.

If you are having issues like I was after following the great tips here. Do the following: 1) Uninstall the game! 2) Before installing, change the Compatibility option to GE-Proton9-7. 3) NOW re-install the game. 4) Launch the game and hopefully you should be able to play.

This worked for me after having issues. Hopefully it works for you too!

It hasn’t worked for every version I’ve tried and nothing has worked and it either give me a error and I press continue and it has black lines over all the text and if I press start it gives me the error again and if I am able to press play then the picture of Batman pops up in the lower right corner of my screen and a error pops up in top left corner
