How to obtain the multiple Cat variants, keep multiple Cats in one room and more

Introduction

Hello!

This is a guide to give you a quick overview on how to get your favorite cat! I'm here to combine the basic information of the wiki and the knowledge of the Discord to this guide.

I've made this guide to make all this information easy accessible while in game.

Obtaining a Cat

Once you've upgraided your tent to level 2 and you can go inside, you'll have access to the Cat Beckoner. The Cat Beckoner is a container where you can place three food items in. It must be three different items.

After placing the items, you can check the cat beckoner the next morning to find a cat inside. Sadly you can only get one cat per day.

The cat's color and rarity depends on the combination of items you use to lure it in; while any combination guarantees a cat, putting in only raw ingredients (like fruit, roots, nuts, etc.) will likely lure only common cats, and higher rarity cats require at least one cooked food.

Appearance and Likes

The cat's rarity determines its appearance and its likes: the rarer the cat, the more types of decor it likes. Common cats like one random type of decor; higher rarity cats have one type of decor they always like and one or more random likes. All cats dislike other cats. Additionally, every cat dislikes a random type of decor (or common items), except for epic cats that dislike no decorations.

A cat's color is cosmetic and depends on the items used to obtain it.

Cat Recipes I

The item slots

The first item slot determines the cat's color. Each color has two or three cooked foods corresponding to it; if two items that give a color are placed inside the beckoner, only one color will be chosen.

• Using the cooked item associated with a particular color and any other two items will give an uncommon cat of that color, as long as that food combination does not result in another full recipe or color.

The second item slot, when used together with the first item and any third other item, will give a rare or ultra rare cat of that color, as long as the combination does not result in another full recipe or color.

• For rare cats, the player can use any item from a category (e.g. Gala apple or D'Anjou pear for fruit category; egg or boiled egg for egg category).

When the three item combo used does not correspond to a recipe, the player will always get a common moon cat with one random liked decor type.

Seasonal Cats

During the festivals the player can get holiday themed cats. These cats can be obtained by placing a seasonal festival item and two random food items into the cat beckoner. Since the food used does not matter, it is advised to use raw ingredients because they are the cheapest and commonly available. Seasonal cats like one type of decorations (fixed for each type of cat) and dislike other cats.

These cats don't have a rarity, they will always have the same appearance regardless of the food items you put in next to the seasonal festival item.

Spring Cat
These cats seasonal type of cats that can only be obtained during the spring festival event.

There are no ways to purchase these cats.

To get a Spring Cat using the Cat Beckoner, you need to place one common Orchid Blossom (the specific type doesn't matter) and two random food items inside. Then wait for the next day to find a young Spring Cat inside.

They will always like Natural Decor.

Summer Cat
Sadly there is no summer cat. This was stated on the official discord:

"Sorry, as we already completed 5.2 and the first run of the summer festival was in the pre-cat ages, there is no cat for summer."

Witch Cat
These cats are a special seasonal type of cats that can be obtained during fall festival.

One young witch cat can be purchased from Ms. Carouse for 300 candy every day while the fall festival event is active.

To get the cat using the Cat Beckoner, you need to place one Spooky Rotten Egg and two random food items inside. Then wait for the next day to find a young Witch Cat inside.

They will always like Spooky Decor and always dislike Rustic Decor.

Winter Cat
These cats seasonal type of cats that can only be obtained during the winter festival event.

There are no ways to purchase these cats.

To get a Winter Cat using the Cat Beckoner, you need to place one Snow Crystal and two random food items inside. Then wait for the next day to find a young Winter Cat inside.

They will always like Cozy Decor.

DLC Cats

Rainbow Cat
You can only get 1 Rainbow Cat. This cat is given to the player after buying the dlc. Once you've bought the dlc, you'll recieve an ingame mail with the cat attached.

There are no ways to craft this cat and there are no ingame options to buy this cat.

The Rainbow Cat will always like cozy decor.

Ben Hiberneczek, one of the DLC bears, will also reward the player with three special cats as they progress through the questline. The cats received from have the same appearance as the regular cats, like one type of decor, and have no dislikes.

Uses of Cats

Feeding a cat will give you Hairballs. You'll be able to get Mundane Hairballs, Happy Hairballs or Hairballs of the Great Goddess depending on your friendship level.

These essence can be traded in for other essences. In my opinion very usefull if you're ever short on certain essences and want a fast way to obtain these.

2 Hairballs will give you 1 Essence of a different kind of your choice.

How to keep multiple Cats in 1 room

As you might have noticed, cats happiness increases with decorations. The rarer the decoration, the more hearts it raises. Size of the decoration does not affect this.

To get your cat to a full 9 hearts, you’d need one of the following options:
• 6 Mythical decorations
• 8 Legendary decorations
• 10 Epic decorations
• 12 Ultra Rare decorations

As you can see, the lower the rarity, the more decorations you’ll need. I’d recommend using 1x1 decorations to save space. You can also use fences! They can be place inside and affect cats too.

Now, we’re here to see how to get multiple cats in 1 room with full hearts. The following list shows the amount what you’ll need to add when adding an extra cat.
• 10 more Mythical decorations
• 12 more Legendary decorations
• 17 more Epic decorations
• 20 more Ultra Rare decorations.

Since these decorations are expensive, feel free to combine multiple rarities in 1 room.

Here's the breakdown:
A single cat requires 30 points to get it to a full 9 hearts of happiness.
Dislike for another cat drops happiness - 50 points. So to keep 2 cats together, you need to reach a total of 80 points. For 3 cats, 130 points. And so on and so forth.

If all cats in a room don't dislike cats (the rainbow DLC cat and the 3 cats from Ben's quest rewards), then you only need to decorate as if there's 1 cat to make happy. But if any of the cats dislike other cats, then you need to decorate to match the number of cats in the room.

Decor rarity point system:
Mythical = 5 points
Legendary = 4 points
Epic = 3 points
Ultra rare = 2.5 points
Rare = 2 points
Uncommon = 1.2 points
Common = 1 point

Hi @just_Elis, you are correct. Mooncats are the only ones that can be common. I believe there used to be other common types of cats, but those sadly didn't make the game. Hope that answers your question!

I would like to clarify. I'm trying to collect the entire collection of cats. And at the moment I have all kinds of cats (except special ones). And if I understand correctly, then only 1 moon cat applies to common cats and that's it?
