Longvinter Dedicated Server Guide

This is a tutorial on how to host your own server for Longvinter.

Installing your own server

This guide is for Windows systems. For Linux servers follow the guide on Linux GitHub page[github.com]

You also need to open ports on your home router to allow traffic go trough. This process is greatly different from what type of router you have

Open both TCP and UDP protocol ports.

For Unreal Engine open: 7777

Hi Sven, works like a charm, tried at LAN with by boy. Amazing game. But its VERY empty when playing only with 2 players. We dont want to join a big server, normally playing Games like Stranded Deep, The Forest, Dont Starve, ....2 Player vs. The World :) Are there ANY commands to multiply the NPC count or like some waves or something, some MODs for bosses or Singleplayer/Duo game? I'm playing this game for 3 hours now and there was not a SINGLE enemy... i'm/we're feeling alone with nothing to do with our rifles :'( Big THANKS

I don't have these in my longvinter file
vcruntime140_1 and vcruntime140 and msvcp140
I put the file in and started the game, but it says the file is not trusted.
How to solve this problem?

This is a nice and easy Guide tho but if the server dosent show up under tools then its kinda useless

There's no dedicated server under tools. Please help me understand how I can run a local server in like 5 mins on most multiplayer games, but can't click two buttons to start a server for this game? Devs need to look into this for real because the biggest complaint of players by far is having to deal with bad servers. Starting a private server shouldn't be convoluted nowadays.
