This guide will tell you all about the Left 4 Dead 2 Easter Eggs and Secrets

Have you ever wondered if Left 4 Dead 2 had easter eggs? Well you're in luck! This guide will show you some cool easter eggs and secrets you might not know about (I know this isn't a real informative guide but sometimes its nice to do a few fun/cool guides in between).

Eric and Chet

Eric (Eric Ladin) is actually an American Actor who voice acted for Ellis. I think it was really cool to see how they put him in the game.



Chet (Chet Faliszek) is a video game writer who has worked for Valve and other companies. He also wrote the story for Left 4 Dead 2 (most likely why they threw him in the game).

I think these were all great references for a zombie video game and it was really cool to see them all.

Midnight Rider's Tour Bus

Ever wondered what happened to the Midnight Riders? Well, 20% of the time you play chapter 2 of The Passing, you can notice their tour bus passing by.

Number 42

In chapter 4 of Dark Carnival, you can play 2 games while going through. One of them ends on a very curious number.

Well, it ends on 42 because of 2 meanings. One of them is because its the meaning of life, and the other one is because of the 4 and the 2 in Left 4 Dead 2.

D.E.A.D.

This may look normal, right? Well if you look closer, you can see that "Disease Emergency Assessment Dispatch" also stands for "D.E.A.D."

Ceda probably predicted that they were screwed/dead from the outbreak so they decided that it was the perfect idea to put that on their trailers.

Cool Story, Bro!

Known for the online meme, "Cool Story, Bro!" can be found in the second chapter of Crash Course on the wall (safe room).

Construction Earmuff

Did you know that the construction worker infected can't actually hear pipe bombs because of their earmuffs?

This is a really cool detail/easter egg (please note that the construction worker/infected are mostly found on the hard rain campaign).

+10 Rep!

In the Chapter 5 saferoom of Dark Carnival, you can find "+10 Rep!" written on the wall (referring to the online saying of giving people + or - Rep).

Evacuation Maps

On Crash Course, you can find a map for places that were still evacuating.


On Blood Harvest, you can find a evacuation map in the farmhouse on the finale.


Right after getting introduced to the L4D2 Survivors, you can find yourself a map of all the places in the United States that had been wiped out by the infected or still standing. The last place that was not X'd out was New Orleans (reason why Ellis was so obsessed on getting there).

Save 4 Less

Right outside Whitaker's gun store on Dead Center (chapter 2 - Streets), you can find a store called "Save 4 Less".

This one refers to the "4" on the game title.

Jukebox

Throughout the game, you can find many jukebox's in each map.

If you would like to earn a free achievement, you can find one and press E (on keyboard) to play a song that could possibly be a midnight rider's song. I would not recommend using the Jukebox if you don't want to fight a horde.
This achievement is a reference to "Killing Me Softly With His Song" (The only song that will alert a horde).

L4D1 Survivors Pills (The Passing)

Did you know that you can actually give pills/adrenaline to the Left 4 Dead 1 survivors on The Passing?

Open-able Fridge

Did you know that you can actually open the fridge in the farmhouse on the Blood Harvest finale?

No Mercy Gas Station

Did you know there is a secret room next to the Gas Station in Chapter 3 of No Mercy?

If you shoot the pumps, you can make the roof collapse and make a stairway to the secret room.

If you enter the room, you can possibly find a pipe bomb, molotov, or pills. There is always a pistol spawn.

Death Toll Tombstone

On Chapter 3 of Death Toll, you can actually break the tombstones by shooting them (you can find them right in the Church area).
