An Introduction

Knightmare Tower’s “The Sky’s the Limit” acheivement is by and far the toughest one to obtain. Only a small portion of players have managed to get it, according to the Steam Statistics. This guide should help you reach that 100,000 meter mark, or at least boost your score in some shape or form. My current record is about 112,000, and am ranked 23 in the Global Leaderboard; thus, I’d like to believe my information is reliable.
Tips and Tricks On Getting The Acheviement
After beating the Troll at the top of the tower, Surivial Mode is unlocked. But no matter how good you think you are…you aren’t going to get past 100,000 without some practice. Here are some beginning pointers…

*Full Upgrades- Trust me when I say you’re going to need ALL the upgrades in the game, especially the $300,000 potion (which I’ll refer to as Burrito Bison, since that’s the character your knight becomes with the power of the potion). Potions, later on, will become integral to boosting your score and getting higher up the tower.

*Getting That Extra Boost- Be sure that you max out your starting boost (the sequence at the beginning of each game with the knight sitting upon the rocket, awaiting liftoff)…this way, you’ll be able to clear the first floor relatively quickly.

*Potions- As I said before, you virtually NEED the final potion if you want a chance at getting past 100,000. Whenever you see that orange light of impending doom at the bottom of the screen, a potion is a surefire way to get you out of a jam…if luck has your side. (Speaking of luck, I’d advise you upgrade that trait first thing, since it’ll enable you to get more money and unlock more upgrades rapidly).

*Pause and Analyze- Once you break through the fourth or fifth wall, even the horned monsters that leap up from the bottom of the screen begin to take multiple whacks. A trick that I’ve found universal to many fast paced games is to pause the screen occasionally and analyze what all the game is throwing at you.

*Go For The Grunts- The grey, horned monsters that take only one hit (assuming you have all upgrades) are easy prey and a great way to boost your speed meter, especially on the earlier floors.

*Ignore The Cash- Once you max everything out and get all the quests done, there’s no reason to collect any more gold. As far as I know, nothing special happens, nor is there some crazy God Mode upgrade that lets you break through the roof and take your knight to where no noble has gone before. So don’t worry about getting it after maxing out. It doesn’t increase your speed meter nor do you get any extraction points for whacking the gold bags.

*Stick to the Sides- As you reach the later floors, the screen is going to fill up with a LOT of monsters. Sticking to the sides and attacking the grey, horned monsters can help you recoup your losses if you’ve taken a good deal of damage.

*Golden Horns- NEVER miss an opportunity to whack a Golden Horn. The amount of easy-kill creatures it spawns, coupled with its longetivity, ensure a nice speed boost. In addition, I’ve found that if you kill all three grey creatures, you are almost guranteed a potion as your reward.

*Bring Lady Luck With You- Although all the tips above should help you boost your score, luck is key. You are never guranteed anything in a run. You may get only a couple potions in one run, and then get plenty in the next. I’ve actually played the game on numerous operating systems until I finally got the acheivement on the Steam version.

Well, that’s all I have for today. If you have any suggestions, drop me a comment. Happy Tower-Scaling!

I was finally able to get it after I got to 95k, I wanted to rage quit as well, but I saw this and kept trying until I finally got it less than 1.5 hours later :steamhappy:

Well actually, I think I got the potion right before the golden horn and I was close to the 5th ceiling anyway, and with the speed increase of the floor lava, luck remains the biggest factor of the whole thing.

Whoa...I had no idea people were still looking into this guide I wrote several years ago! I'm glad it's helped some people out recently although, in retrospect, I probably could've written this a tad better.

131,540. Turns out I got a golden horn close to the end and a potion. Done as soon as you hit the 5th ceiling. It really does come down to luck
