Changing the name of your weapon
(If you already know this move along to the next section)
This Part Is on how to change the weapon names
Considiring the fact of this guide having real gun names you might as well change the fake names to there real ones (or whatever name you want)
Below are screen shots on how to do this step (from top to bottom (also click on the screenshots))

Thats all for this step moving on to the names
Primaries
Notes
Before getting started remember this:
  • "HK" Stands for "Heckler and Koch"
  • "FN (Herstal)" Stands for "Fabrique Nationale (d'Herstal) (French for National Factory (of Herstal))"
  • "IMI" Stands for "Israel Military Industries"
  • "GL" Stands for "Grenade Launcher" (GL-40 Hehehehe)

Snipers

First is the "Rattlesnake"
it's real name is the "Remington MSR"
the wooden body does not exist irl but the tactical aluminium body does and resembles an "MSR" exactly only diffrence is that the color is black
I suggest naming it "MSR" in game

Second is the "R93"
It's real name is the "Blaser R93 Tactical 2"
The normal body resembles a "Blaser R93 Tactical 2" The Wooden body resembles a "Blaser R93"
I suggest naming it "Blaser R93 T 2" and "Blaser R93" in game

Third is the "Thanatos 50.cal"
It's real name is the "Barret M95"
The Barret M95 Is a "Anti-Material Weapon"
In Greek mythology Thanatos was the god and embodiment of death.
I suggest naming it either "Barret M95" or "M95"

Fourth is the "Nagant"
It's real name is the "Mosin Nagant" technically keeping it's real name.
The full-length barrel and staple-like steel reinforcements on the furniture suggest it's the very common M91/30 variant.
The barrel markings are inconsistent with its appearance, most closely resembling those for the M91 made by the Imperial Tula Ordnance Factory between 1892 and 1912.
I suggest naming it "Mosin Nagant"

[h]LMG's[/h1]

First is the "RPK"
The real name is the "Concern Kalashnikov RPK"
("RPK" Stands for "Ruchnoy Pulemyot Kalashnikova" or "Handheld Machine gun Kalashnikova")
With the use of some mods to the game its possible to get a RPK-74 and RPK-74M looking gun with the use of the AKS-74
BTW on the plastic stock there is Russian writing "Очень Секрет" meaning "Very Secret" or "Much Secret" (Such Good, So Stock, Many Size, Wow *Doge Face*[fc07.deviantart.net])
Despite this gun being a LMG it still goes to the AK family
This is the 1 out 6 weapons that kept its real name "RPK"
I suggest naming it as "RPK" in game

Second is the "KSP"
It's real name is the "FN Paratrooper M249", "KSP" or more specifically it's a "KSP 90A" So it technically kept its real name
With the "Railed Handguard" it becomes a "KSP 90B"
With the "Tactical stock" it becomes a "KSP 90C"
With the "Tactical Stock" and "Railed Handguard" it becomes a "KSP 90D"
With the "Long Barrel" and with/without the "Tactical Stock" it's a "KSP 90" also.
I suggest naming it as "M249", "KSP"/"KSP 90A", "KSP 90B", "KSP 90C", "KSP 90C" and "KSP 90" in game.

Third is the "Brenner-21"
It's real name is the "HK-23E"
The Brenner 21 is based on the Heckler & Koch HK23E, as evident by its use of a belt feed module in tandem with the standard STANAG ammo box.
"Brenner" is the rough German equivalent of "Blowtorch", while "Patronen für Handfeuerwaffen" on the ammo box means "Cartridges for Small Arms".
I suggest naming it "HK23E"

Fourth is the "Buzzsaw 42"
It's real name is the "MG 42" ("MG 42" stands for "Maschinengewehr 42" or "machinegun 42)
The "buzzsaw" in "Buzzsaw 42" came from one of the MG 42's IRL nicknames "Hitler's buzzsaw".
With the "Light Barrel" it becomes a "MG 34".
With the "Heatsinked Suppressed Barrel" it becomes a "DLT-19 Heavy Blaster Rifle" from Star Wars.
On the side of the weapon is printed: 1943 M.G. 42 188 8T.
I suggest naming it "MG 42", "MG 34" and "DLT-19"

Miscellaneous

Saw
Last but not least the "OVE9000 Saw"
It has no IRL name as said above but it is modelled after a cement saw.
"OVE9000" is referencing to a Dragon Ball Z meme "It's Over 9000!" (but in the episode of Dragon Ball Z it was different, it was "It's Over 8000!" not 9000)
The Latin text on the saw blade, "Ipsumque seorsum", roughly translates to "cutting apart".
The OVE9000 can cut through wood, plastic, steel and aluminum, as printed on the label of the saw disc. The word PLASTIC is covered by the blade holder cup, while the word ALUMINUM is misspelled (AIUMINUM).
With the update revamping the skills came a new ability to have the "OVE9000 Saw" as a secondary if you have "Carbon Blade" Aced in the enforcer tree

Grenade Launcher
It's real name is the "Springfield Armory M79 Grenade Launcher"
I suggest naming it "M79 GL"

Thats all for Primarys!
Rifles
The AK Family

First up, the first AK you get is the "AK"
The real name for it is the "Concern Kalashnikov AKS-74"
("AKS-74" stands for "Avtomat Kalashnikova Skladnoy 1974" or "Rifle Klashnikova Foldable (made in) 1974")
I suggest naming it as "AKS-74" in game.

Second the "AK.762"
The real name for it is the "Concern Kalashnikov AKMS"
Same goes for the golden version except its the "Concern Klashnikov Golden AKMS"
("AKMS" Stands for "Avtomat Kalashnikova Modernizirovanniy Skladnoy" or "Rifle Kalashnikova Modernised Foldable")
I suggest naming it as "AKMS" and "Golden AKMS" in game.

The Rifles

First up is the "AMCAR"
The real name for it is the "Colt M733 Commando"
I suggest naming it as "M733" in game.

Second the "CAR-4"
The real name for it is the "Colt M4A1"
I suggest naming it as "M4A1" in game.

Third is the "UAR"
The real name for it is the "Steyr AUG A2"
With the "A3 Tactical Foregrip" it becomes a "Steyr AUG A3"
Funny enough but translating Aug (Armee Universal Gewehr) from German to English makes UAR (Universal Army Rifle) technically keeping its real name.
I suggest naming it as "AUG A2" and "AUG A3" in game.

Fourth is the "JP36"
It's real name is "HK G36C" using the handgaurd of a "HK G36K"
With the "Compact Foregrip" it becomes a legitimate "HK G36C"
With the "Polizei Special handguard" and the "Solid Stock", it becomes a "HK G36KV"
I suggest naming it as "G36C", "G36K" and "G36KV" in game.

Fifth is the "M308"
It's real name is "Springfield M14 DMR"
When modded with a "Abraham Body" It becomes the "M39 EMR" with a short barrel
When modded with a "Jaeger Body" It becomes a "Springfield M14 Jae 100" (But with some kind of custom stock that i cant find :| )
I suggest naming it as "M14 DMR" and "M39 EMR" in game.

Sixth the "AK5"
(AK5 Stands for "Automatic Carbine 5")
Surprisingly enough this is the 2nd weapon that kept its real name only difference is that its a
"AK 5" with a space
"AK 5" with Karbin Ceres, Ceasar Stock, Combat Sight and tactical magazine it makes it very similar to a "AK 5C" (Barrel needs to be shortened for it be be a true "AK 5C")
"AK 5" with Acough and Bertil stock makes it very similar to a "AK 5B" (Sharpshooter variant)
"AK 5" with Belgian Heat makes it similar to a "FN FNC".
I suggest naming it as "AK 5", "AK 5C", "AK 5B", "FN FNC" in game.

Seventh is the "AMR-16"
It's real name is a "Colt M16A3"
With the "Blast from the Past" it looks like a "Colt M16A1"
With the "Tactical Handguard" it looks like a "Colt M16A4"
I suggest it naming as "M16A3", "M16A1" and "M16A4" in game.

Eighth is the "Commando 553"
It's real name is the "SG 552 Commando" or more specifically, the "SG 552-2" as seen by it's flip-up ironsights, but the gun it self resembling more of a "SG 553"
With the "Railed Foregrip" However it becomes a legitimate "SG 553"
Hence the Name "Commando 553" which is a combination of the gun & name "SG 552 Commando" + "SG 553" = "(SG) Commando 553"

Ninth is the "Eagle Heavy"
It's real name is the "FN SCAR-H" also known by it's military designation, the "FN Mk. 17 STD"
With the "Short Barrel" it becomes a "FN Mk. 17 CQC" (Close Quarters Combat)
With the "Long Barrel" it becomes a "FN Mk. 17 LB" (Long Barrel)
With the "Long Barrel", "Sniper Stock" and "Rail Extension" It becomes a "FN Mk. 20 S" (Sniper)
I suggest naming it "SCAR-H", "Mk. 17 CQC", "Mk. 17 LB" and "FN Mk. 20 S" in game.

Tenth is the "Falcon"
It's real name is the "FN FAL" quite funny because FALcon and FN FAL
With the "CQB Stock" It becomes a "FAL Type 3 Para"
With the "CQB Stock", "CQB Foregrip", "Tactical grip" and with/with out the "Extended Magazine" it becomes a "DSA-58 OSW" or "FN FAL OSW"
With the "Wooden Stock", "Retro Foregrip" and "Extended Magazine" it becomes a FN FALO 50.42 (In Payday 2 we have a round 30 round magazine but on the FN FALO its a straight 30 round magazine)
I suggest naming it "FN FAL", "FAL Type 3 Para", "FN FAL OSW" and "FN FALO" in game.

Eleventh is the "Clarion"
It's real name is the "Nexter Famas"
It's a bit confusing to find out if the "Clarion" is a "Famas G1" Or a "Famas G2"
With no mods the "Clarion" Is more similar to a "Famas G1" with a straight magazine and old grip but with the fore-end of the "Famas G2" model (2>1(Famas G1>Famas G2))
But with the "Retro Grip" (Its ironic because its called a "Retro grip" but its from more modern "Famas G2" and not the "Retro" "Famas G1") Its more similar to a "Famas G2" but only with a straight magazine from the "Famas G1" (1<2(Famas G1<Famas G2))
Its in-game name is a reference to Counter-Strike, the name of the FAMAS (Clarion 5.56), and also the actual weapons Clairon (translated as bugle) nickname that French troops gave to the rifle.
With a "Short Barrel" And a "Retro Grip" It looks like a "Nexter Famas G2 Commando"
With a "Sniper Barrel" And a "Retro Grip" It looks like a "Nexter Famas G2 Sniper"
I suggest naming it "Famas G1", "Famas G2", "Famas G2 Commando" and "Famas G2 Sniper" in game.

Twelfth is the "Gecko 7.62"
It's real name is the "IMI Galil 7.62"
It's a "Galil 7.62" because it has a longer barrel, more square-ish handgaurd and a box magazine, but for some reason the 25-round straight box magazine of the "Galil 7.62" holds 30 rounds in-game
With the "Light Foregrip" it is similar to a "IMI Galil SAR"
With the "CQB Foregrip" and with the "Skeletal Stock" or "Fabulous Stock" it becomes into a "IMI Galil MAR" or "Micro Galil"
With the "Sniper Foregrip", "Sniper Stock" and with/without the "Sniper Grip" (Usually theres no "Sniper Grip" on the heavier version) It becomes a "IMI Galil Galatz Sniper rifle"
Theres a lighter variant of the "IMI Galil Galatz Sniper rifle" that uses the "Light Stock" the "Sniper Grip" and has the standard Foregrip
With the "Fabulous Foregrip" the "Fabulous Stock" It becomes the "IMI Galil Fab Defense" (lol)
only difference is that the IRL version has a shorter barrel and the foregrip has a much longer sight rail [www.fab-defense.com] not like in the game.
I suggest naming it "Galil", "Galil SAR", "Galil MAR", "Galil Galatz" and the "Galil Fab Defense" in game.

Thirteenth is the "Gewehr 3"
It's real name is the "HKG3" with an HK21E clubfoot stock
the "HKG3" technically kept its real name because "Gewehr 3" is G3.
With the "DMR Kit" it becomes a "G3SG/1"
With the "DMR Kit, "Precision Foregrip", "Precision Grip" and "Precision Stock" it becomes a "PSG-1"
With the "DMR Kit", "Precision Foregrip", "Retro Grip" and "Precision Stock" it becomes a "MSG90" A military version of the "PSG-1"
With the "Assault Kit", "Wooden Foregrip", "Wooden Stock" and "Retro Grip" the "HKG3" looks like a old "G3"
I suggest naming it "HKG3", "G3SG/1", "PSG-1", "MSG90" and "Gewehr 3" (resembling the old Gewehr 3) [www.waffensammler-kuratorium.de] in game.

Fourteenth is the "Queens Wrath"
It's real name is the "BAE L85A2" or "Enfield" (The L85A2 is the newer version of the L85A1, made by the Germans because the L85A1 was a jamming piece of ♥♥♥♥ gun that even the Germans couldn't fix, it's magazine would constantly fall out, it would constantly jam and overheat, and it weighed 5 kg (I'm serious it weighed that much) the Germans managed to fix almost everything except the weight)
I suggest naming it the "L85A2" or "Enfield"

That's all for the rifles!
Shotguns
First is the "Reinfield 880"
Its real name is the "Remington Model 870 Field Gun"
Its a "Field Gun" Variant Because it has a synthetic stock and a hanguard
With the stocks being wood it becomes a police variant of the "Remington 870",
But there are Police Variants that do have synthetic parts and not wood
The Remington with a Muldon Stock Makes the gun look like a SPAS-12
With A "Zombie Hunter Foregrip" It becomes the closest that we can get to a police version of the "Remington 870"
I suggest naming it "Remington 870" or "870" in game

Second is the "IZHMA 12G"
Its real name is the "Concern Kalashnikov Saiga-12K"
"IZHMA" is a reference to "IZHMASH", which is the former name of its manufacturer, "Kalashnikov".
Its body is based of the "Saiga-12K" But in reality it would have been a "Saiga-12G" because the
"Saiga-12K" Is semi automatic whilst the "Saiga-12G" is fully automatic.
It also shares modified parts of the AKMS, the underfolding stock and the ribbed cover of the AKMS which none of the Saiga-12K models have.
I suggest naming it "Saiga-12K" in game

Third is the "Mosconi 12G"
Suprisingly enough this double-barreled shottie was modeled by Overkill themselfes and there is no real life gun from the Mosconi. This has been made from scratch so it has no IRL name.
Putting both attachments on the Mosconi makes it into a "Sawed-Off"

Fourth is the "M1014"
Its real name is the "Benelli M4 Super 90" But in military terms its called the "M1014" so technically it kept its real name.
I suggest naming it "Benelli M4" in game

Fifth is the "Raven"
Its real name is the "Kel-Tec KSG"
Wierd thing is that the short barrel doesnt actually do any visual changes on the gun
it only changes stats.
I suggest naming it "KSG" in game

Sixth is the "Predator 12-G"
Its real name is the "Franchi Spas-12"
With the "Folding Stock" and "Extended Mag" It gets the Iconic video game look
thats been in such games as "Half-life 2" and "Left 4 Dead 2"
I suggest naming it "Spas-12" In game

Seventh is the "Locomotive 12G"
Its real name is the "Short Remington Model 870"
IT IS NOT, I REPEAT IT IS NOT A Serbu super shorty because the serbu super shorty has a very short barrel and it usually has a "Muldon stock" and a vertical grip on the Handgaurd.
I suggest naming it "Short 870" in game.

Seventh is the "The Judge"
Its real name is the "Taurus Judge" so its the 4'th gun that kept its real name.
The Taurus Judge, is a heavy revolver, when using any gadget, the rail adapter has a Brazilian flag on the right side and "Made in Brazil" stamped near the the cylinder, which further confirms that the gun is indeed the "Taurus Judge"
I suggest naming it "Judge" in game

Eighth is the "Street Sweeper"
Its real name is the "Armsel Striker"
But also with parts from the "Armsel Protecta Bulldog" And in game using the name of the Cobray Street Sweeper.
The Striker has the ejector rod of the "Armsel Protecta Bulldog" on the right side of its barrel.
The drum advance lever and winding key of the "Armsel Striker", which can be seen at the rear of the weapon. Not pulling on the lever and not winding this key also results in the weapon being unable to be loaded past the first shell.
All 3 of the Guns features cannot co-exist on a single "Armsel Striker"/"Armsel Protecta Bulldog"/"Cobray Street Sweeper" shotgun, the in-game shotgun is a mashup of all shotguns.
I suggest naming it "Striker" In game.
Secondaries
Pistols

The first is "Interceptor.45"
The real name for it is the "USP.45 Tactical"
With the match slide it becomes a "USP.45 Match" a variant that was discontinued in 1999

I suggest naming it "USP Tactical", "USP Match" and "MK23" in game.

The real name is "Springfield Operator 1911"
I suggest naming it "1911" in game.

The Sixth is the "Bernetti 9"
The real name is the "Beretta 92FS"
The "Bernetti 9" pretty much kept its name from PD:TH B(ernetti) 9S(ilenced) (B9-S) but having a suppressor it had a "S" in its name.
I suggest naming it "Berretta 92FS" in game.

The Seventh is the "Bronco.44"
The real name is the "Raging Bull"
I suggest naming it "Raging Bull" in game.

The real name is the "Glock 18C"
I suggest naming it "Glock 18c" in game.

The Ninth is the "Deagle"
The real name is the "IMI Desert Eagle Mark XIX"
The name Deagle is a reference to Counter strike where Desert Eagle had a nick name "Deagle"
I suggest naming it "Desert Eagle Mark 11" in game.

The Tenth is the "Gruber Kurz"
The real name is the "Walther PPK" or "Walther PPK/s"
James Bond! :D
I suggest naming it "Walther PPK" or "Walther PPK/s" in game.

Its real name is the "SIG Sauer P226R"
I suggest naming it "P226R" in game.

The Twelfth is the "Broomstick"
It's real name is the "Mauser C96"
It's in-game name is a reference to one of the "Mauser C96"'s many nicknames: the Broomhandle, mainly due to its broomhandle-shaped grip.
With the "Damper.L 44" and the "Barrel Sight 44" it becomes Han Solo's "DL-44 Heavy Blaster" Pistol from the original trilogy of Star Wars.
I suggest naming it "Mauser C96" and "DL-44" in game.

SMG's
The First is the "Mark-10"
Its real name is the "Ingram MAC-10"
I suggest naming it "MAC-10" in game

The Second is the "Compact-5"
Its real name is the "HK MP5A4"
Adding the "Ninja Barrel" turns it into a "HK MP5SD5"
Adding the "Ninja Barrel" and "Adjustable Stock" turns it into a "HK MP5SD6"
Adding the "Adjustable Stock" turns it into a "HK MP5A5"
Adding the "Sehr Kurze Handguard" and the "Bare Essentials stock" converts it into a "HK MP5KA4"
Adding the "Sehr Kurze Handgaurd" and the "Adjustable Stock" makes it similar to the "HK MP5K-PDW"
I suggest naming them "MP5A4", "MP5SD5", "MP5SD6", "MP5A5", "MP5KA4" and the "MP5K-PDW" in game.

The Third is the "CMP"
Its real name is the "Brugger and Thormet MP9"
I suggest calling it "MP9" in game.

I suggest naming it "K23B Tactical" in game.

The Fifth is the "Krinkov SMG"
Its real name is the "Concern Kalashnikov AKMSU"
("AKMSU" Stands for "Avtomat Kalashnikov Modernizirovanniy Skladnoy Ukorochenniy" or "Rifle Kalashnikova Modernised Foldable Shortened"
I suggest naming it "AKMSU" in game.

The Sixth is the "Kobus 90"
Its real name is the "FN P90 TR"
I suggest naming it "P90 TR" in game.

The Seventh is the "Swedish K"
Its real name is the "Carl Gustav Kpist m/45"
Its nick name is the "Swedish K" though so in a way its a real name.
I suggest naming it "Kpist m/45" in game.

The Eighth is the "Spec Ops"
Its real name is the "HK MP7A2"
I suggest naming it "MP7A2" in game.

Saw
As this was already in the guide, check Primaries. But I will quote what I said above.
With the update revamping the skills came a new ability to have the "OVE9000 Saw" as a secondary, if you have "Carbon Blade" Aced in the enforcer tree.
Conclusion

I am the author Officialy this is done by me
These two guys are not the authors they are simply develepors that i chose to help me.
Btw Very funny thing that overkill messed up in: While i was inspecting the "G36C" This is what i found...

The bullets in the mag are backwards Thats a bug by Overkill™ :P
Also another thing on the "HKG3"
On the right side of it theres a phrase "Schäfer Gewehr" (Shepherd Rifle) and three Latin words - Spurius, Vilius, and one other thats really hard to read.
The opposite side has wroten on it 'S.P.R. 141592' and '6/85', also with German writing "Dies ist das beste Scharfschützengewehr. Ja, das ist es. Keine fragen, mach es einfach. BEEILEN" that translates roughly to "This is the best sniper. Yes, it is. No questions, just do it. Hurry!" Followed by "cal. 7,62mm NATO"

Great guide, props to the author. i will subscribe to thread! i knew most of these names already, but come to find out i was wrong a few of the different variants. hope this guide gets an update soon for all the newer weapons that have been added since!
toastysauze May 30, 2017 @ 6:10am
At the Desert Eagle, it's "Mark 19", not "Mark 11". The roman numerals XIX is 19. Also I had nothing come up while searching "Desert Eagle Mark 11" up, but I did with 19.
toastysauze May 24, 2017 @ 10:30am
I love this guide, but would it be possible for an update to include the newer weapons?
Alluma Oct 8, 2016 @ 9:30am
Quick tip, call the Bronco.44 the ".44 Magnum" as it look exactly like it, plus "The Raging Bull" sounds weird...
Ærialvas Mar 22, 2016 @ 11:20pm
The CAR-4 look more like an HK-416 than an Colt M4A1.
Nice guide though.
