By Dinaaaaaaaa
Grinding standing is hard, but expanding your plushie empire is much easier. Why not do both, eh tenno?

Introduction
WELCOME TENNO TO THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF FLOOFS.

This entire guide will be focused on gathering the adorable plushie companions we all love.

Animal Conservation is a system that exists in all of the open worlds. It is an activity where the tenno track down animals, then capture them alive for standing and FLOOFS >:D

This is currently, in my opinion, the fastest method of gaining standing in Orb Vallis and Plains of Eidolon. This also works as a guide to farming animal tags for floofs.
Section 1: General Purpose Capturing
NOTICE: If you are already familiar with how to do animal conservation, skip this section

Getting started with conservation:

You will need:
  • First, you will need to buy a Tranq-rifle from The Business in Fortuna for 500 standing.
  • After this, you should grab an Archwing Launcher Segment from the Tenno Lab in your clan dojo.
  • Equip both of these in your Gear wheel which can be found in the Arsenal.

You are now all set to Tranq animals!

To do specific animal captures you need to also buy Lures. Depending on which animal you are capturing, you will need a matching lure purchased from The Business or Tensonai in Cetus.

To start an animal capture event, equip your Tranq-rifle from the Gear wheel and open the Map by holding M. You should now be able to see several small cubes on your map that indicate a capture event you can start. Head over to one of those, find the marking on the ground and follow the event through until the end. Remember to have your audio on as you need to hear where the animal comes from.

After doing a few hunts you should get the hang of it pretty quick. We will now take what you've learned and do something much more efficient.
Section 2: Builds
What you'll need:

Firstly, a warframe that has the ability to sleep enemies. Normally you'd have to tranq animals, but you can also use abilities to put them to sleep, this is much faster. The best 2 warframes for this job is Equinox and Ivara.

You want to build as much range and duration as possible, then efficiency to make abilities more spammable.

Equinox

Build:

Usage:
Equinox is the best for this because of her sleep's range and how spammable it is. In day mode, all you need to do is look roughly in the direction of something and press 2 until it puts it to sleep. The range of which you can put enemies to sleep is incredibly far meaning you can just look around you frantically while mashing 2 and eventually you'll see the animal asleep on your hud.

Ivara

Build:

Usage:
Ivara can also be used for these hunts although she won't be as mind-numbingly easy as Equinox. Select your sleep arrow in your quiver and shoot it nearby enemies to put them to sleep. I don't have too many tips for Ivara, but if you cannot use Equinox it is still very easy to follow this guide.
Section 3: Capturing
Lets talk a bit on how you'll be capturing animals.

Capturable animals will also spawn randomly inside of open-worlds. You will know when they spawn nearby by a distinct call/noise; for example a bird call from a concrod, or a strange squeaky noise from pobbers and kuaka. It is important that you hear these as they will let you know when to look for the animals nearby.

Unfortunately, you cannot use radar mods like Animal Sense or Enemy Radar to display capturable animals on the map.

You should use the tranq-rifle to spot the animals once you hear one of them spawn, they will glow through terrain and objects allowing you to spot them easily. Personally I don't use this as it slows the process down a lot.

So the way this will work is:
  • With your archwing you will fly around the map until you hear the distinct noise from an animal.
  • Locate the nearby animal and put them to sleep using your warframe's ability.
  • Afterwards you can pick them up.
  • Repeat

This is the basis we'll build on.

Animals have set spawns around the map, with a chance to spawn at any of them. Using this, we can draw a route you can use to follow the above steps.

Plains:

The route

Tips:
  • The two animal calls that you are looking out for is the Concrod call and the squeaky sound that Kuaka make.
  • The route above often follows dirt paths which you can use as a guide. Animals like spawning nearby them.
  • With equinox you can often spam your 2nd ability while looking at the ground, after the animals are put asleep they will have an indicator above them for you to pick them up.
  • New war spoilers: Don't look for animals near the Orphix wreckages as they are often bugged inside of them.

Orb Vallis:

The route:

Tips:
  • There are many animal calls in Orb Vallis, the easiest would be the Sawgaw which has a concrod-like bird call. They are usually seen in the air flying(before landing somewhere) or rarely on the ground. The rest of the animals are always on the ground.
  • Most animals spawn in the orange mushroom patches around the map. You'll notice the route above goes through them. You don't have to pay much attention to the route, rather use it as a suggestion for how to navigate through the patches the fastest.
  • Animals can also spawn in open fields of ground(not snow), but they generally stay away from corpus bases.
  • You can sleep Sawgaws while they are flying if you aim at them dead center and spam your 2nd ability as Equinox.
Section 4: Random Words
All of the animals have directional sound, this is a useful tool for locating exactly where the animals have spawned while they are doing their spawn calls.

You can do these routes with a friend and they will go potentially much faster, one can start one way with the route and the other can start the other way.

I have made an excel table on how efficient these routes and methods roughly are if you are wondering exactly how much standing these can give. In the data below I followed the route once and captured as many animals that have spawned nearby as possible.

Plains of Eidolon:

Orb Vallis:

If you are doing these routes it may help to mute all non essential sounds because those damn transmissions make it impossible to hear the animal calls.
Conclusion
Thank you for reading my guide tenno! If you have any questions or anything you'd like to add leave them in the comments and I'll credit you. You can friend me or contact me at "Dinaaaa" ingame.

I will probably add Deimos to this guide one day.

I hope your floof empire spreads far and wide tenno.

May the void bless your travels across the rails.
