Empire drip!!

(watch Andor)

Introduction
  • Don't you hate when the Imperials board your ship and force you to leave your cargo?

  • Don't you hate when you do 2 guides but you procrastinate the 3rd for a year?

  • Don't you hate when you do your first try and you get totally anihilated in your Consortium Campaign?

Then, Let's start with this Awesome Guide

General Tips
Space Tips

-Always carry a lot of Starvipers, Bombers and Corvettes in your fleets, enemy starfighters are notoriously dangerous to your ships, since the vast majority of Consortium Ships don't have shields but in the other hand they do a lot of damage

-Always attack enemy heroes if they are alone!

-If a battle is lost from the start, retreat!! Remember to protect the Ship's engines!

-The AI will retreat if you destroy their space station, use it to your favor , if you want a quick conquest rush the space station and viceversa

-It is safe to auto-resolve a battle when you're only fighting a space station but play every Space Battle to ensure minimun losses against your enemies.

-Put a unit in the square of your fleet, that unit will be a recognition unit, this will allow to deploy your fleet as you wish in the fleet

-Prioritize the destruction of enemy anti-fighter units, like the Tartan Cruiser

-Always have many star fighters and anti fighter units in your fleets, if you ever lose all anti fighter units you are in problems and believe me, it happened to me many...many times

-When you're attacking a space station, concentrate your fire on the Hangar and the Shield Generator, the Hangar will bring enemy reinforcements and the Shield Generator will...generate...shield?

-Attack the enemy turrets with all you have or avoid them entirely, the Plasma turret from the Consortium is specially deadly.Alternatively, build Turrets when you are defending to maximise enemy casualties

Ground Tips

-The Local Population can be loyal to you or your enemies, have that in mind when you're invading

Example: Kashyyyk's Wookies are loyal to the Rebels and i am not joking, you can easily take the entire planet with the Wookies. They are insanely powerful

-Build Turrets in your way to the Enemie Base or when you're defending a planet, they will be saved on the map permanently, that can easily turn the tide of a battle...and they are great to kill heroes!

-Use your five initial heroes to invade planets bypassing their space stations and rendering them useless in the process

-Build ground units in your planets so the Rebels will not infiltrate your planets like you do in their planets.

-Your initial infantry is projectile based, use them in bunkers or with an appropiate distance to enemy targets

-Consortium turrets are notoriously expensive but they do excessive damage(and they are anti-air), build them only when you need them

Administration Tips

-I Don't bother doing special missions(or sabotaging) to corrupt planets because I find them very tedious after a few tries BUT you should do them in order to buy new technology in the Black Market.

-Build the Zann Consortium Palace to actually have a good economy, It's like the mining facilites with the Empire and the Rebels

-Deploy a large garrison in Frontier planets in order to deter Rebel raids

-Always deploy a large garrison in newly conquered worlds to again to prevent any Rebel raids or in the worst cases, win them.

As you may have noticed, the Consortium and the Rebels share one common trait, discontinuous territory and that means you will not be able to support your forces in the other side of the map.
The Consortium's main problem is that everything is op BUT it is.. very expensive while the Rebellion and the Empire are able to outproduce you easily

Example:

One Stormtrooper squadron cost 60 credits...Look how much does it cost your basic consortium infantry

2nd Example:

Imperial Starfighters are FREE but X-Wings cost 300 credits so the discount is worth it

Don't worry, The Consortium is by far the best faction in the game if you manage to massproduce your expensive and while the Empire can massproduce AT-ST that doesn't even have a shield you will produce this beauty

But to win, we must consolidate first....
The Plan
Okay, I postponed this for enough time, here is the ultimate guide to play as the Consortium.

The Reality with the Consortium is... that everything that they have will 9 times out of 10 win against an equal opponent. Consortium Infantry versus your awesome and shiny Imperial Stormtroopers? Pray there is only one squadron agains the whole imperial unit or otherwise you will lose

The elephant in the room is that in this specific campaign the Consortium starts in a disastrous situation, Let me explain:

-Your territory Is fragmented and divided, reinforcements fron one front to the other will not come

-Since Consortium units are expensive, you only have few of them and that means you will always have numerical disavantage

-Hence the Key with the Consortium is Time And Defense, hold your territory for long enough to start countering the Rebel and Imperial Numerical advantage.

For that porpuse, we will:

  • Make a tactical retreat in the Western part of the Galaxy, bring those ships and troops to home!

  • Massively fortify your border with your new ships and troops

  • Build Zann Consortium Palaces

  • Conquer the Western part of the Galaxy to massproduce your tactically superior infantry

  • Eliminate any salients

  • Conquer the Eastern part of the Galaxy to shorten your front.

  • Destroy any enemy holdings in the North and West with your superior infantry and superior fleet.

  • And you've won friend, you would make Capone proud!

The Great Retreat
To start this beautiful campaign, I must be honest because I tried to hold the entire initial Consortium territory but I could not, the Imperial and Rebel forces attacked me with huge fleets again and again until my defenses broke and I could not counter them in a effective way.

-That's why I planned this strategy, tactically retreat from the West to strengthen our forces in the South and eventually rebuild from the ashes like the Phoenix

Do you see all these planets? Sell every building, gather every fleet and fight your way to the South trying not to lose too many units.

After retreating, hopefully with your forces intact, We will start fortfying our planets, building Zann Consortium palaces and conquering the galaxy!!!!

The Hindenburg Line
Remember that WW1 defensive fortifications where the Germans retreated to shorten the front and liberate some troops from the West to use it in other fronts?

Same concept here!!

We are going to establish a defensive line in our frontier planets, in Geonosis, in Tatooine, Geonosis, Bothawui, and what do I mean by defensive Line?

  • Move your initial ground and space units to the frontier with the Rebellion and the Empire

  • Distribute your newly acquired ground units to planets bordering the Rebellion, conquering Naboo early is a good way to eliminate a salient and steal a planet from the Rebellion.

  • Distribute your newly acquired fleet across your frontier planets

  • Start building Zann Consortium Palaces in the Early game, don't try to recruit new units for now, you can use your five initial heroes though.

  • Invest in your economy first, use your new units to defend instead of recruiting new ones

After establishing a solid economic base and having every planet covered by your mighty space fleet you can start building space stations in your frontier planets and in the process start constructing ground building to recruit powerful units.

But how will we defend? Simple, We will use Force Concentration

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zz3JmXSEM4o&ab_channel=Montemayor

If say the Rebels invade Planet A, bring as soon as possible(ideally before they arrive) reinforcements from Planet B and C to destroy the Rebel Fleet before it has a chance of winning.

-If I lost the battle, I would inmediately send my nearby garrison fleets to attack before they had the minimun chance of breaking my defensive line

That's why i fortified the hell out of the frontier planets, to use their garrisons as reserve instead of having one massive assault fleet that acted as a reserve in case of disaster.

While you do this, It is time to use your five initial heroes to conquer the Eastern part of the Galaxy!!
Eastern Front
With your territory and your economy secured now it is time to conquer the Eastern part of the Galaxy Why?

Because of this four reasons:

1) Capture Kamino and start massproducing your sweet infantry as soon as possible, you will be able to withstand any losses, capture any planet without thinking about a strategy and you can start garrisoning important worlds that you deem necessary

2) Shorten the front, the Enemy is only going to come from the North of the Galaxy not from any of your flanks

3) Deny the Rebellion the use of the Mon Calamari Shipyards

4) Link up with your garrison in the Maw

First, you will need to send your five heroes to Kamino, win in the land then manually win the Space battles over your newly conquered planets, remember to establish Zann Consortium Palaces but a Space station is not a priority if your planet does not border the enemy

After that repeat the same process with Mon Calamari

Kashyyyk

Honoghr

Saleucami

Northern Offensive
Okay, this section will encompass the strategy against the Empire, remember they can only fight in conventional warfare so there is no need to garrison planets or play nice... We are going to sabotage their space stations and conquer their worlds with clone troopers and tanks and no onw will stop us.

This is the plan, Let's do it

The first phase focuses mostly on knocking the Empire quickly so they can't become a major threat to our borders like the Rebellion and with good defensive positions and the Empire gone, the Rebellion becomes less dangerous since you can put the bulk of your forces against them

My campaign mostly consisted of conquering the ground with my five heroes and using Force Concentration with my nearby fleets to reinforce my forces in case of any battle because the Rebels attacked my forces in Korriban and I had to reinforce them.

In General, I mostly played every space battle possible to at least try to win because the auto-resolve button sucks, The AI the Strong against or Weak against so you can do a better job playing yourself since that button is so useful as a chimp with a machine gun.

End of the 1st Phase

2nd Phase

The 2nd phase focuses on conquering the remaining northern part of the galaxy securing your eastern planets in the process since the enemy will be too far away to effectively attack your economically important worlds not counting the fact that you are going to have very good bottlenecks

The Battle for Coruscant

These tanks are projectile based but they are a beast, easily one of my favorite units, destroys everything, heroes, buldings, Galactic Imperial governments, it is awesome

When you conquer Coruscant, you have symbolically won =)

And after doing a little conquering, in my case it wasn't very hard since the Rebellion did not have space fleets in their planets so I used the auto-resolve button and send hordes of my tanks and my cloned Infantry to conquer those planets without ever blinking about the horrific amount of casualties sustained since I had Kamino.

And the Empire was too weak as this point but I manually did the Space battles but they were not a threat for the rest of the game nor did they attack any of my holdings

Good Job, we have conquered half of the galaxy knocking out the Empire in a quick way....Now it is the time to defeat the Rebellion....
Finishing the Rebel Holdouts
Well, Let's face it, you have the upper hand but now it is time to convert it into a full victory and win once and for all this campaing.

1st Phase:

The Key here is to send an attack so powerful that it will break the Rebel defense and simultaneously establish a new fortress world in Bespin so instead of defending one planet you will defend one.

Since the Rebels had a little more of strenght and organization than the Imperials, I played all of the Space Battles but auto-resolved some of the ground battles because I had a lot of ground units...specially tanks and infantry. But I did not take so much pictures like in my Imperial Campaign

Now that we control Bespin, fortify with your best units and invest heavily in the world and put turrets on it if you can, The Rebel will attack a lot but the Mighty Consortium Fleet will defeat them

Be aware that there will be attacks in other fronts while you go conquering planets, send your nearby fleets before, the Rebel fleet in this case, arrives. Don't worry the game will tell you when a fleet attacks one of your planets

2nd Phase:

Say goodbye to the Empire in this phase because their time has arrived...

Attack with everything you have like there is no tomorrow, take the fight to the Rebels and conquer your lost planets!!!!!

The Battle for Alzoc 3

Time to destroy the Rebellion in one massive Battle and finally win this campaign!!!!!

THE GALAXY IS NOW FULLY CONTROLLED BY THE CONSORTIUM!!!!

Yeah, this was my second serious try on this campaign and I finally won with the Consortium!!!

Credits
You have created a criminal empire that probably has ruined thousands of lives and sold millions into slavery that would make Walter White cry.

Congratulations!!!!

I hope you enjoyed reading this guide(or the others) as much as I enjoyed making them

the effort into this guide is great
but also the consortium is the most broken faction ever in the base game lol

This is a really great guide about mastering the galactic conquest as the consortium, and it's really well done. However, it doesn't do a good job at explaining the pros and cons of the consortium units.

Thanks for the consortium guide! At least for me, I'm the consortium all the way
