Intro.
Greetings adventurers!
It's Fighting Fantasy meets Frankenstein's monster this time, for an adventure in Allansia with a twist.
You begin the game not knowing who you are or where you are, but only that you are a powerful beast. A creature of havoc.
Before you can uncover your destiny you must first discover the power of reason and the power of communication. Then, and only then, can you progress.
Special Features.
This game has several features which make the gameplay very different early on.

As you have no concept of who or where you are, you must first gain the power of choice. Until you achieve this, your choice of path will be made for you by random dice rolls.

If you survive long enough to achieve this, (and this is by no means certain) you must then gain the power of communication. Until you achieve this, you will be unable to understand writing or the speech of other beings. These may offer vital clues.

To offset these disadvantages you have one considerable bonus. Due to your immense physical power, if you roll a double when determining your own attack strength in battle, you land a lucky blow and instantly kill your opponent outright, irrespective of their attack strength.

A detail that i really like is that the avatar on your adventure sheet is a beast silhouette rather than the usual sketch of an heroic adventuress. (Normally i choose Krea Datura.)
Stats.
This game is not bad on the stats. You will face a reasonable number of battles, even on this optimum route, but none are particularly tough. (You will not face an opponent with skill of greater than 9.) The bonus that you gain by rolling a double in battle tilts the odds further in your favour.

As you are a beast, rather than a traditional adventurer, you begin without provisions or potion-of-your-choice. However, the game offers plenty of opportunities to replenish your stamina. (You can guess what these generally are....)

Posing a serious danger to your progress however, are several unavoidable skill tests / luck tests which have fatal consequences if you fail them.

In adventurer mode, high initial skill & luck scores are important.
In hardcore hero mode, with optimum skill of 10 plus high luck, you should still succeed.

The real challenge is finding the correct route. The path to success is extremely narrow and many wrong choices are brutally punished with instadeath endings, of which there seem to be a disproportionate number.
You must search carefully however, as there are essential items and information to be located.
Steam Achievements.
There are seven Steam achievements for this title.
Three are self-explanatory: Free-read win, Adventurer win & Hardcore Hero win. Simply follow this guide to complete the quest in each mode.

One more, War And Peace, is unlocked by reading the complete backstory.

The remaining three achievements, Tongue Twister, Weight Watching & Football Friend, can also be unlocked during a single winning quest. They are indicated in the walkthru where they occur.

Until you gain the power of choice, your selection of path is determined by random dice rolls. (There is a considerable element of chance here. There are several possible paths, some of which are fatal, but i do not intend to describe them all fully in this walkthru.)

How were you able to go to page 200. I didn’t see any option to when encountering the wizard/2 orcs

Yes, it's an incredibly difficult book to map-out. :steamfacepalm:
It is connected to Trolltooth Wars.

Thanks for the guide, i was getting stuck early on, on those mazes. Great book. Probably one of the best. I have a question though. This is a prequel to the Trollthoth Wars right?
