Here's how to actually enjoy this garbage game.

Has this ever happened to you?

So you start Cally's Cave 3, you play around for a bit until you suddenly realize that your pistol, your shotgun, your RPG etc are actually semi-automatic. Basically they fire as often as you can physically press the firing key. The vast majority of weapons are gonna be like this, too.

What is this, a crappy Flash game?

Similar enough. Your damage output can be much, MUUUUCH higher if you keep pressing the firing key real fast instead of just holding it.

...can I just hold down the firing key anyway?

Well yeah, to deal miniscule damage if that's your thing. Trust me, later in the game enemies turn into absolutely ridiculous bullet sponges. Not only that, but the worst part is that leveling up weapons seems not to depend on damage dealt but rather on the number of hits you land with that weapon. So forget sandwich boosts and weapon mods since they're not gonna help at all.

It's all about how fast you can mash the firing key.

Ring finger blisters and keyboard replacements should have been on the game's features list.

Well that's just depressing. What now?

Quit the game. The AI is not gonna get better, the enemies won't get more interesting, the levels won't get more creative, and the grind for leveling up weapons is basically impossible.

I'm not kidding. You've been warned. Just quit the game. Play something better.

And if you still insist... Well, let's break the game, then.

Behold: the auto-firing script.

I wrote a simple script using Autohotkey. The logic is the following: when the game window is active, pretend like we're mashing the z key at an insane rate when we actually just hold it down. Do the same for the x key as well (the sword attack).

Is it safe to do? Totally. Understand that this is not a "hack". We don't interfere with the game in any way. We just ask Windows for the current active window name and then emulate a ton of keypresses. Nothing more. We do not access or modify the actual game process.

Now, there are two ways you can download it.

Option A: download the script .exe file and run it.

But let's be honest, you don't know me and accepting .exe files from strangers on the internet is a no-no. So if you choose not to trust me (honestly you shouldn't), here's another option.

Option B: download Autohotkey program and use my script's source code.
I'll let you google for the latest version of Autohotkey yourself.

You can view it in any text editor to see exactly what it does. Once you have Autohotkey installed, you can just double-click this source code and it will run automatically.

I don't care. The game sucks ass and I've developed a way to actually somewhat enjoy it.
And now you can, too.

Did it make the game easier?

For sure. Although only in the beginning really, as later on you become completely immortal anyway. Did I mention that late-game economy and combat balance is totally screwed up just as well? No? Still not too late to quit the game now while you can!

Okay but honestly, it still took me over 12 hours to grind to 100%. Major most of that time sank into just leveling up weapons off of monsters (slime king boss is perfect for this btw, teleport to level 20 and immediately go back for it) for hours on end.

Can you imagine actually trying to 100% this game without the auto-fire script though? That must have been hundreds of thousands of keypresses. Neither my keyboard nor my fingers have that kind of durability, man.

Farming deaths

Well holy cow, you made this far. I guess you want to farm the last achievement. The unironically hardest achievement in the game...

Die 250 times.

Yup, it's the hardest achievement in the game and I'm not even kidding. I wish I did. See, remember I told you you basically become immortal. You leveled up your character to have 22 (!!!) lives with health regen. There is nothing in the game that can insta-kill you. So you're gonna have to deplete all of your hearts... 250 times.

Maybe a bit less than that, yeah, but I personally died 20 times total. All in the first hour of the game, when I was not experienced with it yet, didn't have the auto-fire script, and was not immortal yet.

Anyway. This is how you get it.

First, erase your save file. That's right, delete it. We're not depleting 22 hearts at a time, my friend, we're depleting 3 of them at a time. Oh the game will crash when you erase your save, but that's fine, it's how the game rolls. It should work again after a restart. You will need a new script for this. Again, two options.

Option A: script executable, ready to go.

Option B: with Autohotkey already installed on your machine, just double-click this script file to run from source:

Now do exactly the following.

1. Start a fresh new game.
   
2. Go through the initial dialog and stuff.
   
3. Make your way to the second checkpoint in the game, three levels away.
   
4. Try not to level up. Don't kill enemies, just jump around most of them.
   
5. Stop at the second checkpoint here.

Now run the script, go back to the game, and press the "q" key.

Go AFK for 45 minutes. Let Cally kill herself 250 times. Press the "Pause" button to stop the script.

What the script does is basically holds down Left + spams Space. This makes Cally go back to the previous level through the door and immediately die to bandits. This is the fastest and most reliable method I could think of. One death loop takes about 10 seconds, so 10 * 250 = 2500 seconds or ~42 minutes.

Imagine actually killing your 22-heart self manually 250 times. That's gonna be fun five hours of your life. I told you it's the hardest achievement in the game. I wasn't joking.

Final words

I did all this so that you don't have to.

Please quit the game and uninstall it.

That's fair, I just wanted to make something that works automatically and reliably, couldn't be bothered to hunt for the fastest spot when the speed is kinda irrelevant :)

I got a better method for killing Cally over and over again, going to the Cyborg Colossus in NG+ and just running at him over and over again, kills her faster even at max level
