Onee Chanbara Origin Achievement Guide
By Ossie
Hi, Welcome to the Onee Chanbara Origin Achievement Guide!, i tried describing everything as best as possible without making it look or sound too hard. Compared to previous entries, Origin is the easiest (but still grindy) so unlocking all achievement wont be too much of a hassle!

I didnt add the respective achievement picture cus they create some kind of art of the girls and since the guide is divided in groups to make it more user friendly, the "pieces" will look weird in different positions. Ill add some pictures to make the guide look a bit nicer for everyone.

Prep & Story Achievements
I wont be describing the story related achievements since theyre pretty much self explanatory.

For all the story related achievements to unlock youll have to beat every difficulty available. I started on hard but its up to you if you want to do your first playthrough on normal or hard. The game is honestly not that difficult but if you arent experienced in hack n slash games id suggest normal.

So beat the game on your preferred difficulty once and then come back to learn more about the achievements youll be tackling next, Theres nothing misseable so dont worry, just a heads up, try not buying items/rings from the store in your first run, ill be explaining why later in this guide.

Once you start tackling the harder difficulties (Beast and Berserk), I recommend this ring set for both story and survival mode, youll be doing more damage while your xtasy gauge fills nonstop.

Each time you beat the game on a certain difficulty youll have enough xp for the next difficulty to not kick your ass.

Grindy Achievements
Yeehaw!
Reached level 99 with Aya

Hey, Sister!
Reached level 99 with Saki

Ultimate Siblings
Reached level 99 with Aya and Saki

By the time you beat Violent difficulty you will probably have Aya and Saki at level 99, if not you can grind Infinite Survival.

Unstoppable Impulses
Went berserk 100 times

Bloodied Limbs
Went vo-ga 100 times

These achievements will take a while to unlock since theyre grindy as hell. A good way to grind them are by doing Chapter 4 and equipping Ring of the Baneful. This short level has a good amount of Mudman that will help you transform in to those forms, around 2 times per run.

CF Master
Used Cool Finish a total of 100 times

Cool Finishes trigger when you stunt an enemy then the game prompts you to tap certain buttons (A + X on controller), by the time you finish all difficulties you will have this achievement

Divine Protection
Investigated all of the Goddess Statues that appear in the story

Theres a total of 13 times you will encounter these statues, theres no "dont use a statue through a whole playthrough" achievement so if you find one get close to it to heal yourself up. In some levels there are 2 or even the same statue will appear in different chapters, they all count so you must activate them.

By the time you beat Violent difficulty you most likely will have already unlock this achievement, if not, heres a guide that shows all statue locations (there are some statues that are hidden in small rooms, also, the guide is in chinese but the pictures are easy to follow up)

Survival

Survival Challenge: Novice
Cleared Infinite Survival floor 8 without having taken any damage

Survival Challenge: Adept
Cleared Infinite Survival Mission floor 23 without having taken any damage

Survival Challenge: Master
Cleared Infinite Survival floor 31 without having taken any damage

Abyss Survivor
Cleared Infinite Survival floor 51

Survival is a challenge mode where you get thrown in a small lab themed arena and battle waves of zombies and story mode bosses. I recommend playing survival until youve beaten all difficulties since your level will be either max or pretty high and have good enough rings on your characters.

For these next achievements you have to beat the boss of each floor (you only have to avoid getting hit on these floors, others dont matter) thats why its better to jump into survival once you are level 99 with good rings (check prep section for the set i used).

Aya can beat them easily with her X+A attack, and going Vo-Ga form before the boss fights. Get the Vo-Ga form a floor earlier and change to your secondary character or whenever you can since changing characters will "freeze" the form they were in, so once you reach the boss floor switch characters. By the time you try these challenges youll understand how parrying and evading works so dont forget to use that!.

Theres an item that can help out in case a boss is too hard for you, Magatama Choker (makes you invincible), the only drawback is that you can only hold 1 in your inventory. You can stack Power Gem with Magatama Choker for faster boss cleaning.
Quests & Parrying
A budding Investigative Mind
Completed 5 quests

Theres a ton of quests in game, luckily you dont have to beat them all (since theyre honestly pretty grindy). Once you beat the game for the first time check the quests list in the ingame menu and identify the ones that are doable for you.

Kill Streak Goddess
Goddess Continuously defeat many enemies in a Kill Streak.
Hit Queen
Achieve 300 hits many times.
Genocider
Defeat many enemies while in Xtatic Form.
Stun Master
Stun enemies many times.

You will unlock these 4 quests by the time you beat the game in all difficulties so theres 1 left. The easier could be:

Technical Master
Achieve a V rank result many times.
Hit Ally
Swap characters many times while performing continuous hits.
Master Survivor
Reach a specific level in Infinite Survival.

  • Technical Master: unlocks pretty easy if you do survival money trick.

  • Hit Ally: easier to do in survival, while you are attacking spam the change character button, you have to be attacking and changing characters in order for the game to register it for the quest.

  • Master survivor: you will have to reach floor 150, luckily the game creates a checkpoint at floor 51, so you dont have from 0 to 150 (even tho 51 to 151 is a lot)
You could also try other quests like parrying / evading / use an item x times.

I found an easy way to get the parrying quest done. In floor 51 you will fight Aya, if you get far away enough she will throw kunais at you which can be parried, just get the timing right and after a few minutes you will complete the quest. Its preferable to try this until you have a lot of HP since her kunais dont deal too much damage but it deals constant dmg since you have to parry a lot.

Baby's First Parry
Performed a successful parry for the first time

Don't Get Parried Away
Performed 5 consecutive successful parries against a single boss

Pure Parry Perfection!
Performed 10 consecutive successful parries against a single boss

If you have an almost perfect timing, you could get these achievements by doing the floor 51 Aya parry in less than a minute, if not, go to practice mode & choose Devda with unlimited health, his attacks are easy to evade, learn the pattern and youll get the achievements in a few minutes.

Items and Resources
Making Rent in Babel-Tokyo
Reached 1,000,000Z currently held cash

Beating all 4 difficulties will net you a lot of money which will be enough to get the 1m achievement, You need to have 1M in your inventory, not total money through the game, so get the rings / buy items after you get the $1M achievement.

The rings are expensive enough to make the next achievement the most grindy of all (you need a total of 5,650,000 $ to purchase every ring once) and youll have to buy some rings for survival / hardest difficulty playthrough to aid you, thats why doing the survival money trick is a must, all you have to do is start survival challenge and quit, it will net you 18k $ every time you do it.

Ring Collector
Obtained all rings

Ring Twins
Equipped two characters with the same type of ring.

Half of the rings are available after you do complete a certain challenge:
  • Ring of Xtasy / Use an Xtasy Combination 100 times.
  • Ring of Quickness / Clear missions without taking damage 5 times.
  • Ring of Blood Clot Suppression / Destroy 10 enemies in the final stage of a Cool Combination.
  • Ring of Rebellion / Successfully Parry 50 times.
  • Ring of Blood Clot Acceleration / Defeat 500 enemies in Xtatic Form.
  • Ring of Technique / Achieve a V rank 10 times.
  • Ring of Training / Successfully Predict 100 times.
  • Ring of Hits / Swap characters 50 times while performing continuous hits.
  • Ring of Severance / Reach Level 50 in Infinite Survival.
  • Ring of Fainting / Stun enemies 50 times.
Theres a ring in particular that might need a bit of grindy if you just smash (which everyone does since the timing window is extremely small) instead of timing correctly the attacks aka Cool Combination, luckily theres a pretty fast way to get it. Once you unlock Rei, raise her up to level 10+ (You can unlock her through DLC or beat survival floor 100) & do the next combo (while timing it properly).

Item Collector
Obtained all consumable items

All items are available through the store but one, Blood Clot. To get this item you must kill a Mudmen with a Cool Finisher (you must parry a Mudmen then press X+A)

Wrap Up
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
Aquired all other Trophies

So thats pretty much it, any question, tip or whatever is in your mind leave it in the comments section below,

I feel like a killed 2 birds with 1 stone by first playing on normal, then going right into survival with level 40 DPS builds on both Aya and Saki and the Ring of Training. Figured out good crowd control with air combos and Saki finisher cheese to carry me through awakened zombie hordes into floor 51. I died maybe somewhere in floor 7X. But I jumped up to level 98 in that 1 session.
